Synopsis

Cedar Ridge, Colorado, is famous for crisp mountain air, clear blue skies, and pine-scented breezes. And it’s the last place Lily Danville wants to be. But she needs a job, and there’s an opening at the hottest resort in her hometown. What has her concerned is the other hot property in Cedar Ridge: Aidan Kincaid-firefighter, rescue worker, and heartbreaker. She never could resist that devastating smile . . .

The Kincaid brothers are as rough and rugged as the Rocky Mountains they call home. Aidan has always done things his own way, by his own rules. And never has he regretted anything more than letting Lily walk out of his life ten years ago. If anyone has ever been in need of rescuing, she has. What she needs more than anything are long hikes, slow dances, and sizzling kisses. But that can only happen if he can get her to give Cedar Ridge-and this bad boy-a second chance . . .

Review

This is the very first time I have the pleasure of reading Jill Shalvis and I am so glad that I decided to give her go because I really enjoyed this sweet and sexy second chance romance.

Lily left Cedar ridge and Aidan Kincaid years ago but she is back and not under the greatest of circumstances.  Her career is in jeopardy and her best friend has offered her a job at his salon to help her out.  This town is small and it was only minutes of being home again when she runs into sexy firefighter Aidan.  And sexy he is.  The man is alpha and fiercely protective of his family.  He had me swooning straight away.  But Lily has her reasons for leaving Cedar and Ridge and Aidan behind, but he sure makes it tough for her to stay away now that she is back.  The sexual tension between these two was smoking hot and once Aidan understands her reasons for leaving, the game is on!

I really enjoyed the author’s writing and I thought the characters were really relatable.  I adored the comical aspects of the story.  Mostly coming from Aidan’s family which I happened to fall in love with.  The author did a fabulous job of getting all of the side characters personalities to shine through and I found myself really loving the banter between Aidan’s sweet and dysfunctional family.  I will definitely be checking out other books by Jill Shalvis.  This was a fun light read with some angst and sexual tension thrown in.
