Synopsis

I was born a fighter. Abandoned by my parents, I spent my life forging my own path—one guided by my fists and paved with pain.

Untouchable in the ring, I destroyed everyone who faced me, but that’s where my victories ended. Outside the ropes, I repeatedly failed the few people who loved me. Including my best friend, Liv James—the one person I’d die to protect.

Even though I didn’t deserve her, Liv never stopped believing in me. Never gave up. Never let go. After all, she understood what I’d lost, because she’d lost it too.

Liv was everything to me, but she was never truly mine.

That was going to change.

I lost my first love, but I refused to lose my soulmate.

Now, I’m on the ropes during the toughest battles of my life.
Fighting to be the man she deserves.
Fighting the solitude of our pasts.
Fighting for her.

Review

I could have prevented it all if only I’d only been stronger.

Tougher.

Patient.

Careful.

Smarter.

YOU GUYS!  I just can’t with this book.  I know we have all been patiently (not so much) waiting for Quarry’s story.  I mean, after all, we have been witness to all of Quarry’s ups and downs since he was just a little guy.  I don’t know about y’all but I have been so fully invested in this cussing, snarky, and tough kid since day one.  So invested, that I feared this book.  I wasn’t sure if I was going to find him a sexy adult.  The Quarry I loved prior to this book was like a baby to me.  One I wanted to hug and comfort and mother.  Especially with how the last book ended.  I was all “Quarry needs me”.  But the truth is in Fighting Solitude, Quarry is all grown up, alpha as hell, and smoking hot.  Lord Jesus!

“Tell me this doesn’t feel like everything you’ve ever wanted.  Because that’s exactly how it fucking feels to me.”

So we all know that Quarry has big issues because we have witnessed all of the injustices that he suffered from a young age.  But what we don’t know is Liv’s story and we get to go back to little Quarry and little Liv and experience the first time they meet.  How they become the very best of friends and comfort each other through the toughest of circumstances.  And, man.  Tissues and wine, guys.  Tissues and wine.

It was a scary realization.

Because for the first time in my life, I found myself with something to lose.

Cue Liv James.

We watch them grow together and apart and then together again.  We get to experience the whole love never dies bit, especially from Liv’s side and man is it sweet and awesome.  I just loved her and hurt for her and hoped for her happily ever after so hard.  I felt it was just, so deserved.  Her and Quarry’s story one I will never forget and will read again and again.

“The silence is terrifying.”

The truth is, is that Fighting Solitude is my favorite in this series by far and you guys know I loved them all.  But see, Quarry got the best of attributes from both his big brothers.  He is tough as nails like Flint but has the heart and imagination of a dreamer like Till.  Quarry has turned out to be my most favorite Page boy.  His and Liv’s is the hardest story to read.  I spent most of this book with a tissue in my hand but God,  I cannot even describe the emotion I felt for these beaten but not down people.

“Every. Single. Day.”

I don’t want to give one single iota of this book away and there are tons and tons of surprises.  So many brilliant things happen the last 35% of this book.  People are redeemed in the most amazing ways.  I feel like the Page boys were finally vindicated in some way.  And Aly Martinez does such an amazing job of wrapping up this series.  I visited with some of my most favorite men and their women in this book.  I felt like 2 amazing series came to such a beautiful conclusion.  I will miss these boys something fierce but man, what a crazy good ending to this series.  Be prepared to have your mind blown, people.  The best is yet to come.

Move on and Live
