Synopsis

There once was a boy, and I loved him.

Logan Francis Silverstone was the complete opposite of me. I danced while he stood still. He was quiet, and I was always running my mouth. He struggled to find a smile while I refused to frown.

The night I saw the darkness that truly lived inside of him, I couldn’t look away.

We were broken together, yet somehow whole. We were wrong together, but always right. We were the stars that burned across the night sky, searching for a wish, praying for better tomorrows.

Until the day I lost him. I threw us away with one hasty decision—a decision that changed us forever.

There once was a boy, and I loved him.

And for a few breaths, a few whispers, a few moments, I think he loved me, too.

Review

Goodness gracious, I thought that I really enjoyed the first book in The Elements Series, but this one was really freaking amazing and it blew the first book away.  You see, this series is my first time reading this author so I am kind of a newbie to her so I didn’t really know what to expect for this second book.  I know that that cover is gorgeous and smoking hot and that the title and blurb immediately drew me in and made me want to read.  I am so happy to report that the writing and the story were just as amazing as this cover.

‘His soul was set in flames, and he scorched anyone who stood too close.’

OK, so there is probably a huge reason why I loved this book even more than the first book in this series and that is because it is just so New Adult and I love me some new adult.  I mean seriously adore it and this one was loaded with all of that young and new adult type of angst.  I mean, it starts as a typical rich privileged girl meets poor damaged boy.  They become the best of friends.  They come together in the most beautiful of ways.  But then things really start to get going and I honestly could not guess what was going to happen next and I didn’t.  I was surprised, heart broken, and so throughly invested in these two sweet kids.

‘My greatest fucking High…

My most painful Lo…’

Anyway, I do not do spoilers so I will not share another word of this incredible story.  Just know it is epic.  It spans years of love, friendship, and family.  It was an incredibly emotional ride but I just wanna ride it again and again!
