REVIEW:
A new book from Corinne Michaels is an exciting thing, but when that book is kicking off a new series, that’s something else altogether. Michaels introduces a new world to her readers in the Arrrowood brothers, and I’m just going to get this out there now…. the rest of the books in this series have already landed on my most anticipated books list, and the titles, blurbs and release dates haven’t even been announced yet. That’s how much I loved this first book, and how invested I already am in these characters.
Michaels created Connor and Ellie’s magic by weaving a fated feeling into their story. A chance meeting, a respite from their own pain in the arms of a stranger. A single, nameless night was all it was supposed to be, but fate had other plans, and it became so much more than that for both of them. Fate steps in again, eight years later, and reunites them, both a little more broken than when they last met. The healing is where the beauty in this story begins, and Michaels brought all the feels she could muster to Connor and Ellie’s story.
Come Back For Me was an absolutely gorgeous second-chance romance that pulled me in from the first page. This wasn’t an easy read – what Corinne Michaels book is? – and my heart broke often as this couple’s difficult story unfolded. But that’s the thing about Corinne’s books, as painful as they are, and boy does she like to pile on the angst and emotion, the flipside to all that pain is pleasure. The rekindling of Connor and Ellie’s love story was beautiful, powerful, and passionate, and it’s a story that will stay with me for a long time to come.
