3.5 Smooches
Synopsis
Jennifer Nolan has been unlucky when it comes to love; even more unfortunate when it comes to sex. In fact, the twenty year-old college junior is about to enter her senior year still carrying her v-card. All she wants is to be with that special someone without it resulting in a trip to the emergency room, runaway office supplies, or being scarred for life by someone’s weird fetishes. With several botched attempts under her belt, she begins to fear she’ll end up a lonely spinster or a crazy cat lady.
With only 60 days until her 21st birthday, Jennifer is determined to lose her virginity once and for all. Little does she know that her mission will lead her down a path toward love. She never expects that her mission will lead her to a discovery of what true womanhood is, and where true and lasting love begins
Review
This was a funny, light hearted, quick and easy read that’s perfect for when you need a book that will make you smile and give you a laugh.
This was about a young woman called Jennifer who has been the unluckiest in terms of finding love and losing that illusive V card, resulting in some very embarrassing and accident prone situations. So she makes a deal with herself that she will lose a V card by her 21st birthday which is 60 days away.
” I doubt he would of cared if one was three sizes bigger than the other, or if my nipples were two different colours.”
This was a very quick and easy read that bought a smile to my face. It was a funny plot line that didn’t have much substance but was enough to keep me entertained. It worked very well with it being a short story and it definitely made me smile.
There was even a little love triangle going on, although that was a tame one and even a ‘villain’ of the story which I have to admit I didn’t see coming.
“There’s this spark, This elemental feeling of need that is unlike anything you’ve ever felt. It grows and swells until it consumes you, and you feel like your just going to die if you don’t make love to that person, right then, right there.”
I really loved the characters. Jennifer was cute, likeable and funny. And her flat mates were also so easy to like and they made me laugh. Especially the boys, I loved their flirty but big brother protector personalities with the girls of the group.
“I think your beautiful and that seeing you everyday makes me happy. I’ve wanted you to know how hard it is to walk past you every morning…”
Overall I rated this 3.5 stars because it did make me smile and I really enjoyed the characters, but there wasn’t enough substance or plot for me to rate it any higher, but it’s the perfect story if you are looking for a light, easy read.
” ‘No,’ I answered. ‘Because I went on a mission to lose something, but ended up gaining everything.”
