Synopsis
My name was Dr. Erica Hill. I was a victim, then a witness, and then I ceased to exist altogether.
I may still be breathing, but stripped of my identity, I have long since stopped living. I am invisible, and my life depends on my ability to stay in the shadows.

Wow, I absolutely loved Among the Echoes. I am falling hard for Aly Martinez and her books! I find it so hard to believe that she is a newbie writer because she seems to have mastered the recipe to turn out one amazing book after another. Some authors just have IT, and Aly does! Among the Echoes is definitely different than her other novels; this one being a bit more dark but I couldn’t get enough of it. It had me gripped from the very, action packed, first page. When a book starts out like that, you just know it is going to be epic. So, you better make time to read this book in one sitting because you simply will not be able to stop.
Erica is on the run and in witness protection when she meets heavy weight champion of the world, Slate Andrews. Slate is all kinds of sexy woman protecting alpha-goodness. He also happens to be excellent at the dirty talk, so let’s just call him perfect.
Erika knows she can’t keep him. Her life is a hot mess and she refuses to put him in danger but the heart wants what the heart wants. Their story is such a beautiful one. Slate wants to rescue Erika and she wants so badly for him to be the one to rescue her but she feels hopeless.
Slate is kind of a recluse which made for an interesting character since he is in the public eye a lot. He was easy to fall in love with. He first just wants to help Erika but you feel their attraction right off the bat and he seems to easily fall for the mysterious woman who he constantly feels the need to help. Before he knows it, helping her has turned into so much more than he expected.
Now, lets throw in Leo, Erika’s bestie and room-mate. Nope, not a love triangle people. Leo is an awesome addition to the story, though. He is a lot of the comedic relief and he comes with his own set of problems that leave you intrigued with his character.
This book was amazeballs. Lots of action, an angsty romance, and such steamy sex. Aly Martinez writes books that have it all. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will most certainly be turned on. Her characters are lovable even with their flaws and she always manages to surprise me with a little twist.. I totally fangirl her and I cannot wait for my next fix!
