Bully and Victim
Friend and Lover
Past and Future
Ellie McCallum and Flynn Hendrick’s story was as painful as it was devastating. But they were able to find within each other an unlikely yet beautiful love. Despite the obstacles that tried to keep them apart.
And together they rose out of the ashes of their tragic history.
Now years after their life changing reunion Ellie is back in Wellston, having just graduated from college and ready to start her future with the man who taught her how to love. However, returning to a town that held so much bitterness and anger was the last place she wanted to start over.
But for Flynn, who is now an art professor at the community college and firmly rooted in the place that gave them their beginning, she’d do just about anything.
Yet it’s difficult building a life when you’ve only just learned how to live.
And love, no matter how strong, doesn’t always conquer all.
Ellie and Flynn must learn how far they are willing to go to stay together. Or whether the ghosts of the past will consume them both.
Because finding a happily ever after is harder than it seems. Particularly when you’re fighting against the one thing that could destroy you.
Yourself.
Review
Ok, Chasing The Tide is a continuation of Flynn and Ellie’s story from Reclaiming The Sand. so I must insist that you read Reclaiming The Sand first because you will totally be a lost hot mess if you don’t. Reclaiming The Sand was one of my tops reads this year. I absolutely loved it. I fell in love with Flynn, and Ellie too, somehow. I was dying for more of their story!
But I know that one day I won’t need to miss you anymore because you’ll come back and find me again.
(way to leave a sister hanging, Ms. Walters!)
Chasing The Tide begins with Ellie coming back from school. She has been away at college for a few years and true to Flynn’s word she is home simply to come back to him.
Every story has a beginning. Flynn was mine.
Oh God, I was so happy for Ellie to be home with Flynn. Their story in this book is a hard one. Ellie is not crazy to be back home with so many bad memories from her past and childhood and she refuses to get help for her problems. Living with a significant other is always hard at first but Flynn is even harder to live with and Ellie has reservations about making the jump with him even though it has already happened. Flynn is fully committed to her and I have to say that I really enjoyed getting to read more of his ADULT point of view this time around. Meredith does a fabulous job with Flynn. She must have done a lot of research because Flynn’s personality rang so true to me. He was beautiful, honest, and if Ellie could look just a little harder she could see how uncomplicated he is.
“Where’s your happy place?”
“With you,”
I really enjoyed this book. I did love Reclaiming The Sand a bit more, but I felt like this story provided the closure and HEA that I needed for Flynn and Ellie! Definitely worth a read, folks!
