Synopsis

The first time Logan ever saw Charlotte, she was staring up into the rain.

Logan is searching for direction when his new roommate makes that entrance. With a body of pure sin, giant bright eyes, and the voice of an angel, she has his attention immediately. But everything about Charlotte is also screaming “hands off.”

Charlotte is hiding. She made a life of pretending, and she is happy to keep it that way. Physically and emotionally scarred by the secrets of her past, the last thing she needs is a gorgeous roommate asking all the wrong questions. Their mutual attraction and devotion to music may be too strong to keep him at arms length, though.

Can they find a way to resolve the dissonance between them?

Review

Dissonance starts off grabbing you into the story and keeping you there. The reader quickly tries to understand how Charlotte ended up in a hospital room. Talk about being glued to the book. I will admit that even though I thought I knew what was going on….I was wrong! Dissonance is a love story between Charlotte and Logan. But it never is as easy as it seems.
These two meet as room-mates. This was suggested by Charlotte’s brother Eli, who is also the best friends of Logan. Eli does explain the characteristics of Logan to his sister in hopes it would detour any potential feelings. Amessy love life” and “some growing up to do” to be exact.  Eli, trying to cover all his bases, even gives a warning to Logan, stating his sister is “off limits”.  That is easier said than done, and Logan finds himself instantly drawn towards Charlotte.
Charlotte has a been hurt physically and emotionally. No one knows or understands her story, not even her own brother Eli.  She feels as though she can not be loved or deserves the love of Logan.
“I’m not strong enough to fix him when I can’t even fix myself.”
The harder these two try to stay away, just brings them closer. I emphasize that their ability to have a relationship was not easy. Logan fights for Charlotte, chipping away at her layers to get to her.
I loved that both characters love music. And I always love a story with good song references. I fell in love with their story and was grateful for their HEA. The writing was done well and I connected with the characters in this story. Every emotion, the awkward moments even, kept me reading. I look forward to reading more books by this author. 4 smooches for Dissonance by Drew Elyse
