Synopsis

Bad enough Jade Frost’s boyfriend drags her to a boring poker game. Even worse that he actually threw her into the betting pot during an intense round…and lost. Talk about the perfect excuse for Jade to make him her ex-boyfriend.

Now she supposedly belongs to the ultra rich, extremely gorgeous Shep Prescott. He could have anything he wants yet he seems to be in hot pursuit of her. No matter how rude, how snarky, how impossible she acts, it doesn’t stop him. More like her horrible behavior seems to make him want her more.

When she finds herself starting to fall for him, Jade’s confused. There’s more to Shep than the carefree rich charmer he portrays. No way could he want a serious relationship with her…or could he?

Review

I love a hate/love relationship. Where one or both hate each other from the start, its ALWAYS an explosive, intense fun journey into the relationship. And that is exactly what was the case here. Extremely rich jerk who is also extremely hot and the simple, level-headed girl who thinks she’s not all that special but both are drawn to each other like magnets even if they won’t admit it.

Jade Frost hates everything about Shep Prescott. His financial situation means nothing to her even though she hasn’t very much money herself and his charm goes right over her head or so she thinks. Jade isn’t confident not much anyway but she is a firecracker. I love when a female character has a vulnerability to them but when the male character brings out a sassy side to them, it’s my favorite!

“God, What a jerk. How could I be so stupid? The one time I actually want a dick in my mouth and I end up with a whole lot of dick all right. A dick who got off and then ran like a dog with his tail tucked between his legs.”

Shep is arrogant and a jerk and he knows it and he can’t help himself when it comes to Jade, he loves pushing all her buttons. Every girl bows down at his feet, throws themselves at him, he doesn’t ever spend more than one time with a girl – its his rule and he certainly doesn’t chase a girl. Ever. That is until the red head that pushes and challenges him to the point of nearly being a pain in the ass. He does have that rule though. So is it jade that he loves or is it the challenge he loves?

“…I want her… that much I know. She acts like she hates me most of the time and I fucking love it for some twisted reason. She’s a challenge. No girl is a challenge for me. Ever.”

I loved these two. Shep Prescott is arrogant but he’s sexy and I didn’t hate his arrogance, actually I loved it, I was smirking and laughing all throughout this book. He comes from ‘old money’ so his family are stinking rich. There is always some sort of drama in a book when there’s rich and the not so rich and I love how it was done here. These two were hot together and that has a lot to do with one word. Anticipation. You’ll understand when you read it. Ha! For me these two pushed past each others barriers, they both brought out something different in each other, they both caused a stir in each others life. This was my first book from Monica Murphy and it won’t be my last. I loved it so much because I forgot just how much I love them kind of college romances and I loved this one and fell back in love with them stories all over again. I didn’t dislike a single thing about this story, However, I wanted more interaction with Jade and Tristan and even Gabe too but especially Tristan that would’ve been really interesting because I wanted to get to know Tristan so much more but regardless this was one of my favourite stories in a while and can’t wait to read Tristan’s story!
