SYNOPSIS:

I fell in love with Sydney Hastings when I was ten years old.

At sixteen, we whispered promises of forever.

When I was twenty-two I broke them all. I left her and promised never to return.

After my father’s death, I’m forced to go home to Sugarloaf for six months. She’ll be everywhere, no longer just in my memories and regrets.

When we’re together, it’s as though time never stopped. She’s still the one I want, but I don’t deserve her. Instead of apologizing, I take that beautiful, broken woman in my arms. But after that, it’s her turn to leave me.

Now I have to fight. For her. For us. For the life we both want …

REVIEW:

I love a second-chance romance, and Corinne Michaels gave her readers an amazing one in Fight For Me, the second book in her Arrowood Brothers series. I was immediately sucked into Declan and Sydney’s story, and I was transported there, into Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania, for an afternoon as I devoured this book. I love when that happens—when I get so engrossed in a story that I lose track of time and even where I am.

Declan and Sydney’s story was a second-chance at first love, and this was an epic one. Having met as children, both of them knew early in life that the other was their person. Life as an Arrowood brother wasn’t easy, though, their cruel father with his troubled history once again stepped in to derail this young love. I felt the tragic pain of Declan’s unthinkable choice and the ramifications when he left Sydney behind. I felt her desolation, pain and confusion, and Michaels left me in tatters as she took me through their heartbreak.

But as this author is known to do, she always heals her characters, and her readers, after ripping them to shreds. What at first seemed like a final devastating blow from his father turns out to be salvation for Declan. Forced to go back to the town and the farm that he vowed never to return to, Declan is in Sugarloaf for the first time in eight years. He doesn’t want to be there, but he can’t seem to stop himself from seeing Sydney. Despite all the pain and anger between them, their connection, the attraction, and the love was all still there.

An engrossing second-chance romance, Fight For Me was angsty, steamy and full of every single feel. Michaels stellar storytelling was on point, and I couldn’t tap the pages on my Kindle fast enough. I loved every second of this story, and I am already on the edge of my seat waiting for Sean and Devney’s story. Five smooches from me for Fight For Me by Corinne Michaels!
