Synopsis

Dreams.
I used to have them—before the nightmares started.
I dreamed of nice guys, love…normalcy.
Things like reading the Sunday paper in bed with my
lover.

But who needs dreams when your reality is filled with a string of faceless dominating men in uniform? Men that pack a thick bulge and are only too happy to satisfy my deviant sexual cravings.

Me. That’s who.

And then HE walked through the door and shared with me, a total stranger, his intimate dream of love. Damn him for verbalizing every single detail of the dream I buried long ago.

And now I don’t know how I’m going to live without that dream.
Or him.

Review

Wow, just wow.  This is my very first book by Julie A. Richman.  I have actually purchased the entire Needing Moore Series but with the influx of arcs I read it is rare that I get to have a fun read but they are definitely on my TBR, especially after reading Henry’s End.  This book is really quite amazing in the most surprising and wonderful way.

I happen to love me a m/m book and honestly I was expecting a light and sexy read.  I was in no way prepared for the astonishing, eventful, and sometimes agonizing journey that I went on with Henry.  This is not your traditional romance.  This is the story of Henry, a gay man, that starts in the 90’s and spans time until the present.  The timeline and plot were brilliantly written and depicts Henry’s struggles as a gay man in the 90’s;  his loves and his losses, his relationships, friendships, and his hardships.  It just blew me the hell away.

I am usually a fan of romance novels written in first person or alternating point of views but I had absolutely no problem with Julie’s story telling.  I fell in love with these characters, especially Henry.  I felt extremely connected to the story and I will warn you to grab some tissues because this is definitely an ugly cry.  And while this book was definitely sexy, it was more of an emotional journey for me.  Henry stole my heart and on more than one occasion it broke for him.  I rooted for him, I cried for him, and I wanted to hug this wonderful man and make his life all better for him.

I read this book as a standalone and had absolutely no problem, so if you haven’t read the Needing Moore series you should have no problem, it still read beautifully.  There is a gorgeous and well deserved HEA at the end of this book so don’t let my ugly crying comments deter you from picking this one up.  It is an absolute must read!
