Synopsis

I’m a rocker with the eyes of the world on me. Waiting for my triumph or my downfall…just waiting. Most of my life is in my hands. My destiny? That’s another story. My destiny isn’t as debt free.

My band, Phoenix Rising, arrives in Houston to cut a new album. Before we perform our first concert in the city and I choose my groupies of the night, I’m thrust into debauchery. Sleeping with a gorgeous woman twenty years older than me has its perks, especially when her husband orchestrated the encounter and eagerly watches. To me, performing is performing. If a man wants to share his wife, who am I to stop him?

Unfortunately for me, I don’t make a clean getaway as I leave the McCall mansion. Georgie, their sixteen-year-old daughter, is in the midst of her own intrigue, sneaking home in the middle of the night after an evening of drugs and sex with her older brother’s best friend. In her, I see me. She’s lost and drifting. Her hedonistic parents insist she’s old enough to make her own decisions. Instead of time and love, they give her money and things.

I’m a twenty-five-year old international superstar and I know better. I’m cocky and arrogant. I know it so I own it. Somehow, I’ve always bested the fates. I have all to lose—my reputation, my career, and my freedom. Her mother’s jealousy forces my hand and I take Georgie on the tour.

This is our story and our secret relationship and the destruction of my life. You know the adage about secrets? Three may keep a secret, if two of them are dead. Wise words from a wise man. If only I had listened. Secrets have a way of revealing themselves in the harshest way.

Review

I struggled to write this review as I couldn’t quite decide on my overview opinion on it. Inferno is written in mainly Sloane and Georgiana’s POV but it does also include Cassandra. Sloane is a 25 year old rocker star who lives up to the bad boy rocker name, but he has secrets that he has buried deep. One chance meeting with Georgie changes everything for him, and starts him on a downward spiral.

Georgie is a 16 year old girl who is lost and alone. She doesn’t have the love or attention that she needs and deserves. This causes her to seek comfort and approval in other that she shouldn’t. Sloane comes into her life at the right time to help her, but by doing so all but signs his own life over to save hers, as she reminds him of himself at her age.

Sloane saves Georgie when he is at her house after sleeping with her mother, an event that Georgie’s dad put together because he has he sights set on Sloane’s aunt. Sloane decides that he needs to leave her alone when he finds out how old she is but seeing her in the state she is in, it becomes his mission to help her, and he wants her off drugs and safe.

Cassandra, Georgie’s mother is not happy with the way her life has turned out, she doesn’t really enjoy the things that happen in the bedroom until Sloane. But she soon becomes jealous of her daughter as it’s clear that Sloane likes her. What will she do to ensure they stay away from each other?

Sloane and Georgie both have too much going against them to be together, but that doesn’t seem to stop Sloane pursuing it. He wants her and gets what he wants, although he doesn’t know there is greater forces playing at wanting to cause the downfall of rocks bad boy.

Will Cassandra finally get what she wants? Will Sloane get a HEA? What will happen to Georgie?

The reason for the low stars is because for me personally I found some of the story uncomfortable to read and I struggled to relate to the characters at times. The end of the book also left me a little bit confused.
