Synopsis

Still bitter about his failed engagement and life on the family ranch, Ian MacKenzie has been cranky for nearly three years. His brother Mack’s married bliss hasn’t helped, and now his pregnant sister-in-law’s airhead best friend is coming for a visit.

Candice arrives to help with the new baby, even though it means swapping her Louboutins for snow boots and her flat irons for flannel. She’s far from prepared for the freezing cold and she certainly wasn’t expecting the sizzling heat of her attraction to a certain green-eyed cowboy. Ian may be rude and infuriating, but he looks sinfully good in those jeans of his.

The two clash at every turn, but there’s one thing they can both agree on—if they do give in to their undeniable chemistry, then it’s just a fling…because he’s a country boy and she’s a city girl, and their zip codes are on opposite sides of the map.

Review

“Do not look at his package, Candice. Do not look at his package. My eyes move on their own accord. Oh dammit, you looked at his package! And . . . Oh my . . . Oh my, my my . . . There’s a giant bulge! Hooray for giant bulges and the jeans that let me see them!”

Elle Casey is and will always be a go to author for me when I am looking for a book that will excite me, capture me and make me laugh out loud. Much like the first book in the series, Shine Not Burn, MacKenzie Fire is full of hot cowboys and city girls getting into hilarious situations. Packed full of steam and a love story to melt your heart, MacKenzie Fire is not to be missed.

“Heck yeah, I like the gun. I hit a target and Ian MacKenzie with it already. I’d say it’s a keeper.”

For me MacKenzie Fire outshone Shine Not Burn (and I LOVED that book.) I saw bits of myself in at times ditzy Candice. Her love of Google and the ridiculous things she said constantly had me dying in fits of laughter and I found her sweet and endearing. She isn’t afraid to stand up for herself or those she loves and she doesn’t take crap from anyone especially sexy as all, dark and bruiting cowboy Ian.

“I wonder what it is he wants to show me. I hope it’s him naked. I’m totally ready to melt some snow.”

Ian has been burned by love and in an effort he has closed himself off from those who care. But even he cannot deny the unwitting charms of Candice. Taking place on a ranch in the west, MacKenzie Fire is all things good about cowboys and the women they love!
