Synopsis

I’m not a philosophical kind of bloke, but I know something about luck. A childhood on the wrong side of advantage will teach you that. It’s all a matter of chance. It’s both your circumstances and the chances you take. So I’ve always been a gambler and a ladies man — they love me and I love them. Now I’ve found one like no other — an American, Allison Wright. When I met her, the fates were on my side, but too soon I learned the odds were against me.

Review

Soo, I enjoyed reading this book.  I have to confess that although I loved the British humor from David-(the Book Boy Friend) and the banter between him and Allison, this book did take me a bit to get into.  It just seemed to drag, and was pretty wordy in the beginning and really was not going any where with the story.  I felt like maybe it kept building and building and then finally it got over the mountain and I started enjoying it.
David, “I’m not a philosophical kind of bloke, but I know something about luck. A childhood on the wrong side of advantage will teach you that. It’s all a matter of chance. It’s both your circumstances and the chances you take. So I’ve always been a gambler and a ladies man — they love me and I love them. Now I’ve found one like no other — an American, Allison Wright. When I met her, the fates were on my side, but too soon I learned the odds were against me.”
You will fall in love with David, he is British and he is a mess, he will tell you like it is and make you laugh out loud.
“Now which Bond Girl do you prefer?  Pussy Galore or Plenty O’Toole?”
The twinkle was in her eye, but she kept mum with her lips pressed together.
“It’s all right, Love.
There’s no wrong answer.”
You will also like his love interest Allison Wright.  She is American and she loves giving David heck.  They happen to have a chance meeting in an airport and they end up being on the same flight to Singapore.  This gives them both time to get to know each other and see where this friendship/relationship will take them?
“We can be Friends.”
“Friends?  Do you have any female friends?”
“Of course.  You met Natalie.”
“You used to date Natalie. Or something with her.
That’s why you’re Friends.”
“Are you saying that to be friends you have to shag the
person?  Because if that’s your prerequisite, I’m happy
to oblige whenever you need.”
Allison does mention to David that she is in a relationship with another man whom David happens to know and does not really care about.  So the storyline is about their friendship and you wonder if Allison will find out why David does not like her man and if David and her ever get together?  That’s where I will end my review, you will have to read the book and find out all this wonderful information!!
