Synopsis

The author of Flirting with Scandal presents her second book in a sexy contemporary romance series about three sisters in a powerful political family, the scandals that threaten to destroy them, and the passion that drives them…

The daughter of one of the Senate’s most powerful figures, Blair Reynolds was ready to become the ultimate political wife—until she caught her fiancé cheating on her wedding day. Law school is a fresh start, her shot at putting the pieces of her life back together. That’s the plan, at least. Until trouble comes in the form of her Torts professor, the man whose arrogance infuriates her in class but haunts her private fantasies.

Graydon Canter had a fortune and a place on all the hottest “Thirty under Thirty” lists, until a series of personal missteps nearly destroyed his career. A year teaching at a D.C. law school is just the break he needs to get his life back in order, as long as nothing—and no one—trips him up.

When Blair and Gray are forced to work together, their explosive attraction becomes impossible to resist. But Gray’s demons have drawn him dangerously close to the edge, and Blair has spent her life playing by the rules. Will she break them for a shot at love?

Review

Blair Reynolds is one of three daughters to one of D.C.’s influential men of the Senate. She is the oldest and has always been in the spotlight. Her mother has always antagonized her and rips everything she has ever done to shreds. If the limelight isn’t enough she finds her fiancé with a man, in compromising positions on her wedding day. But yet, in her mother’s eyes, Blair had to have that happen and could have cost her father’s election.
Professor Gray has a past he’s not proud of. He entered a dark world and came out empty. On the outside he looked as though he had everything. A great career for a small yet popular law firm, a beautiful wife, a wealthy social life. Yet all these contributed into the downward spiral of this man and almost cost him everything. Luckily Gray was able to stop it before it caused more damage and sought the help he needed. And when one fine day in Torts class, these two find out just what it means to find love again.
Playing with Trouble is the second book of the Capital Confessions series. And I am happy to say that this book delivered! I felt, as the reader, the nervousness when Gray called on Blair in class. And I felt the pull Blair had on Gray. The drama wasn’t excessive and it was on point. Sometimes love sneaks up on them and although the situation isn’t best at the time, the outcome brings love and light to these two. Such a beautiful story with amazing characters. I couldn’t get enough. Especially since this books falls into my all time fave category, student/teacher romance! Can’t wait for book three! 4 smooches for Playing with Trouble!
