5 SMOOCHES!

SYNOPSIS:

First rule of being a nanny? Don’t fall for the single dad, even if he is smoking hot.

But that’s exactly what happens when grumpy small-town sheriff Asher Whitlock reluctantly hires me to take care of his daughter for the summer. Neither of us is thrilled with the arrangement, but he’s desperate for help, and I need the money for grad school this fall.

All we need to do is keep our distance and remain professional . . . turns out, that’s easier said than done.

Instead of focusing on my future, all I see is the strong jawline, crystal-blue eyes, and rock-hard body right in front of me. We try to resist each other, but we end up crossing every line until I’m in his bed.

I tell myself it’s just this once.

Okay, twice.

All right, every night.

But it’s got to end–he’s fourteen years older than me, with a kid and a stressful job. Have I mentioned my dad is his boss? Then there’s the past I’m trying to forget. Secrets aren’t easy to keep and mine are getting too big to hide.

Walking away is never simple but when I do, I can’t look back.

Even if it means leaving behind the man I was never meant to love.

REVIEW:

Corinne Michaels kicks off her new Whitlock Family series with a beautiful and emotional second-chance, forbidden, single dad romance in Forbidden Hearts. Michaels’ takes readers back to the fan-favorite fictional town of Sugarloaf in this captivating opposites-attract, enemies-to-lovers romance.

Asher Whitlock, a 38 year old SWAT officer and single father to his deaf nine year old daughter, Olivia, needs a nanny. Enter Phoebe Bettencourt, an audiology student with a kind heart and a helpful spirit—and who is also the daughter of his boss. As usual, Michaels’ engaging storytelling is on point as she expertly navigates between heart-wrenching moments and witty banter-filled ones. Michaels skillfully crafts characters that are flawed, relatable and beautifully complex, and she’s done that fantastically with the protective, good-guy hero and the smart, sassy heroine. Phoebe and Asher’s chemistry absolutely leaps off the page, filling their romance with palpable tension and desire.

One of Corinne’s strengths as an author is her innate ability to weave together powerful emotions, sizzling passion, and well-crafted characters, creating a perfect balance that keeps readers engrossed from start to finish. Flawlessly paced, full of all the ups and downs of an enemies-to-lovers pairing and rich with heat, humor and heart, Forbidden Hearts was a wonderfully addictive, unputdownable story that kept my Kindle in my hand. I’m so excited about this series, this family and the return to Sugarloaf, and I can’t wait for what’s next! Five smooches from me for Forbidden Hearts by Corinne Michaels!
