SYNOPSIS:

A standalone, rivals-to-lovers, second chance MM sports romance full of secrets, first times and forbidden love…

Some men are just off-limits. Like, say, all the other football players in the league….

I have to stop replaying the one night I spent with my rival. Trouble is, that white-hot encounter with the other quarterback answered a lot of questions I’ve had about myself, but it also led me into this mess where he hates me.

I never showed up for our second date. Since, well, life happened, and the worst part is he’ll never know how much that night meant to me.

But when I’m traded to his cross-town rivals, that’s not the time to serve up my secrets to him either. My team’s PR department wants to double down on our rivalry. I need to focus on football, not on my interest in men. Except, the more time I spend doing media appearances and charity events with the sexy, generous, popular guy, the hungrier I am to finish what we started.

It’s a bad idea to knock on his door late one night. I could lose everything. He’s probably not even home.

But when the door swings open and I’m face to face with the man I want desperately, I have a choice to make.

REVIEW:

The Boyfriend Comeback by Lauren Blakely was an absolute joy to read, or in my case, to listen to. A super sexy, sweet as sugar second-chance, rivals-to-lovers romance packed full of forbidden feels and first-times, and I just couldn’t put it down. I listened to the audio version, and I was completely captivated by Teddy Hamilton and JF Harding’s performances. Their narration was completely in-sync and overflowing with natural chemistry! I’m a big fan of Teddy Hamilton’s, but JF Harding was new to me, and he can count me as a fan now, too. Blakely’s LGBTQ romances are simply magical. If you’re a fan of her traditional contemporary romances, you’ll love her LGBTQ offerings—they’re brimming with all the heat, heart and humor you love in her other books.

Jason and Beck are professional quarterbacks on rival football teams. After a miscommunication a year earlier, they’re suddenly thrust into each other’s worlds when Beck is traded to Jason’s cross-town rivals. I loved these characters, their natural chemistry was electric and their emotions were heartfelt and genuine, but there were some real roadblocks standing in their way. That’s one of the things I love most about Blakely’s writing, she doesn’t create insurmountable obstacles or unnecessary drama. She poses a problem to her characters and she gives them to opportunity to address it maturely and work through it. I love it, I absolutely love this.

The Boyfriend Comeback was a feel-good, lighter-hearted love story full of heartstring-pulling emotion. Sexy, romantic and full of those edge-of-my-seat will-they-or-won’t-they vibes. Wonderfully witty banter and the blistering burn of sexual attraction, I was enthralled as these two men gave in to what they were feeling. It’s exactly these types of layered emotions that I want to experience when I read romance, and Blakely gave me all of it in an engaging romance that held me captive from start to finish. Five smooches from me for The Boyfriend Comeback by Lauren Blakely!
