Rough Ride by Kristen Ashley Review

5 SMOOCHES!

SYNOPSIS:

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Ashley comes a new story in her Chaos series…

Rosalie Holloway put it all on the line for the Chaos Motorcycle Club.

Informing to Chaos on their rival club—her man’s club, Bounty—Rosalie knows the stakes. And she pays them when her man, who she was hoping to scare straight, finds out she’s betrayed him and he delivers her to his brothers to mete out their form of justice.

But really, Rosie has long been denying that, as she drifted away from her Bounty, she’s been falling in love with Everett “Snapper” Kavanagh, a Chaos brother. Snap is the biker-boy-next door with the snowy blue eyes, quiet confidence and sweet disposition who was supposed to keep her safe… and fell down on that job.

For Snapper, it’s always been Rosalie, from the first time he saw her at the Chaos Compound. He’s just been waiting for a clear shot. But he didn’t want to get it after his Rosie was left bleeding, beat down and broken by Bounty on a cement warehouse floor.

With Rosalie a casualty of an ongoing war, Snapper has to guide her to trust him, take a shot with him, build a them…

And fold his woman firmly in the family that is Chaos.

Note: Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.

REVIEW:

It’s no secret that Kristen Ashley is one of my all-time, top favorite authors. Further, her Chaos series is one of my all-time, top favorite series. At any given time, if someone were to look at the first page of my Kindle, one of KA’s books will be there, in the midst of being reread. I read some of her words nearly every day. It might be just a favorite scene, other times it could be a few chapters, and sometimes I allow myself to get lost in the story and reread the whole book. But since I picked up my first KA novel in 2012, I have read some of her words every day. That is how much I love this author, how much her words and her stories and her worlds mean to me.

Rough Ride is a 1001 Dark Nights novella set in Kristen Ashley’s Chaos world and tells the story of Rosalie and Snapper. KA readers met Rosalie in Own the Wind, as she was the very sweet but unfortunate woman Shy Cage scraped off unceremoniously to get together with Tabby Allen. Snapper, a prospect at that time, has since become a full patched member of the Chaos MC.

Rosalie was no stranger to the biker lifestyle having been born to a biker and his old lady. Her father, though, was that rare breed of biker who loved his wife and daughter above all else. When he died suddenly, Rosalie unwittingly began searching for her happy, and in the process of doing so, she made a couple of wrong choices—one seriously so—before she was finally presented with the right one. But this was a woman who had been jerked around and hurt, though, so no matter how right this right choice seemed to be, no matter how sweet and kind and patient Snapper was, she was having a hard time accepting that this was right. Therein lies the crux of this gorgeous story, the healing power of love and family. It may have taken her a bit of time to come around, but in the end what she found was well worth the rough ride she took to get there.

Rough Ride was a fantastic addition to the Chaos series, and it lays some seriously exciting and intriguing groundwork for the stories to come. I devoured Snapper and Rosalie’s beautiful love story in a single sitting. Sexy, sweet and so swoon-worthy, my heart raced and soared from cover-to-cover, and I finished this book physically aching for more. Five smooches from me for Rough Ride by Kristen Ashley!
