Synopsis

Vivian Bingley has big plans for her semester abroad in Spain…

Along with her BFF, Maddie, Vivian hopes to indulge her inner Art History nerd by visiting the best museums in the world. She also wants to tackle more practical concerns—like a less than stellar GPA in her major, Economics—with the help of a Spanish tutor.

But falling for her studly Spanish tutor definitely isn’t one of them.

Madrileño Rafa Montoya is the stuff study abroad dreams are made of: super studly and super smart. He also happens to be super into Vivian. With his wicked dancing skills and his passion for the arts, he tempts her to throw caution to the wind and live out her wildest dreams.

Only problem? Maddie wants Rafa, too, and Vivian promised herself she’d never settle for second best again…not after a hookup-gone-awry last semester left her heartbroken. Is it best for Vivian to protect her heart at all costs? Or is letting Rafa in worth the risk?

This book is a New Adult contemporary romance, suitable for mature audiences.

REVIEW

When Vivian’s life isn’t going the way she planned, what with her grades dropping, a cheating ex and just feeling down she decides to shake things up a bit and go study in Spain for 6 months. Will she find the path she has been looking for? Get back on track and be happy after a rough few months? Will she maybe even find love? 6 months in beautiful Spain means anything could happen.

“I’ve been so close to romance, to that happily ever after, before. And then I had to let it—let him—go after one semester. It hurt like hell.”

This was a beautiful, refreshing romance, surrounded in the lovely Spanish culture to add a slightly different feel to other romances. With a very hot and very attentive Rafa, our lovely male lead, making us swoon with his dance moves and patience and our sometimes annoying but still beautiful heroine; this was a romance to sink our teeth into.

“A slow, tingling wave of awareness moves up my spine, trailing goose bumps in its wake. It’s strange, this feeling, and new. The physical sensation echoes in my head, causing my thoughts to scatter in a starry rush.”

What I loved in this book was Rafa. From the start he doesn’t play games with Vivian, and even when other interested parties come into the picture he makes it clear that Vivian is who he wants. He is so patient with her, which he definitely needed with Vivian sometimes, and sweet and attentive but also he was very sexy and charming!

“The feel of his hand on me—it’s like heaven on earth. It’s too much. It’s not enough. In the space of a single heartbeat, I know it will never be enough.”

Vivian was not a character I loved straight away but she charmingly flawed I guess. Sometimes she seemed too sad for what was happening in her life, it wasn’t that bad, but on the other side of that I could see how much she liked Rafa and how she wanted to try to pick herself up.

“It’s impossible to pull away, to not fall into his kiss, into the desire roaring inside me. Why does he have to make me feel so wonderful?”

It was nice to read a romance that wasn’t too dramatic and to not have to deal with the anger that comes with some story lines such as cheating which I think happens too often in romances nowadays. It still captured by attention though which I think is a sign of a great writer.

“This forever thing that I’ve dreamed about for so long—the romance I wanted but thought I couldn’t get—maybe it can actually happen with Rafa.”

There is some drama but mainly we have brilliantly developed characters, a beautiful and easy flow of words that made this a pleasure to read and just a stunning romance with some really hot scenes and chemistry that jumps off the pages!
