5 SMOOCHES!

SYNOPSIS:

From New York Times Bestselling author Corinne Michaels comes the final poignant love story in the Arrowood Brothers Series.

Hollywood taught me everything I know about relationships–except how to be in one. As an actor, I became an expert at faking it. Faking that I wasn’t affected by my childhood. Faking that I was okay. Faking that I knew how to save the day, the girl, the whole damn world.

But I’ve always known the truth–I’m no one’s hero.

Until I’m forced to move back to Sugarloaf for six months, and Brenna Allen offers me a chance to prove otherwise. She’s everything I never knew I wanted, but can’t have. Her broken heart, perfect face, and adorable children turn my world upside down. Instead of preparing for my next leading role, I’m directing a middle school play.

All to make her smile.

The more time I spend here, the more I want to stay. Build a life in this town that I swore I’d leave–for her.

But when the world comes crashing down around us, I’m forced to decide if staying for her is the right choice or if leaving is better for the woman I love.

REVIEW:

Corinne Michaels has completely blown me away with the entire Arrowood Brothers series in all ways. Each story delivered its own emotional tumult before culminating in a heart-healing happily ever after. I devoured each story, hanging on Michaels’ words, and finished, breathless and already anticipating the next brother’s story. Another epic small town romance, Stay For Me takes readers back to Sugarloaf for the final story in this enthralling series.

Jacob Arrowood is a Hollywood big screen hero, and he is every bit the dazzling, charming, charismatic mega-star. Back in Sugarloaf to serve his six-month sentence under the terms of his father’s will, this big star is stuck in a tiny house on the farm he swore he’d never return to when his world is knocked off its axis by a single mom and her two wise-beyond-their-years children. Brenna, a child psychologist, is new to Sugarloaf, having relocated there for a fresh start following the devastating loss of her fighter pilot husband and to be closer to his family.

I loved how gentle Jacob was with Sebastian, Brenna’s son. Jacob’s heartbreaking history makes him uniquely able to relate to him on a level that only the two of them can understand. Jacob has chosen to live a solitary life in Hollywood, focusing on his career, steering clear of any sort of romantic entanglement. He is rocked to his core when he sees the stunning redhead, and as he gets to know her what ensues is a butterfly-inducing love story.

Michaels doesn’t ever shy away from the angst in her stories, and she coupled that here with a touch of necessary but not overdone drama that made this a story that pulled on every one of my heart strings. Moving, swoon-worthy, small town romance magic, Jacob and Brenna’s love story had all the feels and was full of longing, all-consuming chemistry and healing. I struggled between not wanting to put it down and not wanting it to end. As sad as I am to see this series end, Michaels couldn’t have penned a more perfect conclusion. Stay For Me by Corinne Michaels gets five smooches from me!
