4.5 Smooches

Synopsis

As the Jack-of-All-Wicked-Trades for a secretive French military intelligence agency, Kingsley Boissonneault has done it all—spied, lied, and killed under orders. But his latest assignment is quite out of the ordinary. His commanding officer’s nephew has disappeared inside a sex cult, and Kingsley has been tasked with bringing him home to safety.

The cult’s holy book is Story of O, the infamous French novel of extreme sado-masochism. Their château is a looking-glass world where women reign and men are their willing slaves. Or are they willing? It’s Kingsley’s mission to find out.

Once inside the château, however, Kingsley quickly falls under the erotic spell cast by the enigmatic Madame, a woman of wisdom, power, and beauty. She offers Kingsley the one thing he’s always wanted. But the price? Giving up forever the only person he’s ever loved.

Review

To be honest I couldn’t give a synopsis anymore than what the author already gives. This is one intense erotic thriller/romance, the likes of which I’ve come to love from this author. The erotic nature of these stories are individual, unique and deeply intense.

“I’m going to touch you,” she said. “If you have an objection to that, then I don’t know why you’re here.” Again, Kingsley did not speak. He had absolutely no objection to being touched. Not by her, anyway.”

Be ready to delve deep into BDSM fantasy with The Chateau; where we follow Kingsley’s journey of pain, pleasure and discovery. I actually really loved Kingsley’s character; I loved that he was both strong and new to knowledge at the same time. He was discovering about himself at the same time we were and I liked that kind of naivety about him.

“For my job I have to lie to everyone. I’d like to tell the truth to someone before I forget how.”

I have to be so careful to ensure I don’t give anything away but I will say I LOVED Madame; she was mysterious and intense and extreme in the best way. I definitely feels BDSM, and sadism in particular, is very hard to write about. There is a fine line between beautiful, erotic and intense and something that could become very uncomfortable to read. And as always, Tiffany Riez, finds that balance beautifully.

“Between the kiss and the answer, he would always pick the kiss.”

There are many twists and turns throughout that will keep completely enthralled with Kingsley’s story. And as much as it a story in it itself, it is also very much a self discovery story about Kingsley and how he has become the person many readers know him as. If you love BDSM and if you love intense and thrilling stories then this is the perfect read for you!
