Synopsis

From New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter comes the long-awaited story of Torin, the most dangerous Lord of the Underworld yet…

Fierce immortal warrior. Host to the demon of Disease. Torin’s every touch causes sickness and death—and a worldwide plague. Carnal pleasure is utterly forbidden, and though he has always overcome temptation with an iron will, his control is about to shatter.

She is Keeley Cael. The Red Queen. When the powerful beauty with shocking vulnerabilities escapes from a centuries-long imprisonment, the desire that simmers between her and Torin is scorching. His touch could mean the end for her, but resisting her is the hardest battle he’s ever fought—and the only battle he fears he can’t win.

Review

Lord mercy.  I don’t know about you guys but I have been waiting and waiting on Torin’s story.  I am obsessed with this series and ALL of the Lords.  I have loved each and every book and while I will agree that some books have been more sexy than others, nothing quite prepared me for how damn sexy Torin’s book would be.  I mean, seriously, who knew dry humping could make a girl blush so?!!  Get ready, peeps, because TORIN AND KEELEY=TOTAL DAMN HOTNESS.

I bet, like me, most of you all thought that Torin would end up with Cameo.  That seems to be what Gena was working us towards, right.  Well, guess what?  SIKE!  Thank you, Ms. Showalter for this amazing surprise because Keeley is probably my most favorite heroine in this series.  She is crazy, spunky, bad-ass, and she wants to kill the hell out of Torin and we all know that makes for so much funsies!

“Because I’m guessing Keeley is the Curator, and check it, that chick is loco in the noco.  You get what I’m saying, my man?  Her elevator only goes to floors F and U.”

I could not describe Keeley any better myself and I absolutely loved her for it.  She was amazing in the most awful of ways and made me giggle more times than I could count.

“Hey!”

“Only eight times have I eaten the organs I’ve removed, and it was only to make a point.”

She is gorgeous and her hair and skin change color with the seasons.  To top it all off, she is pretty much as powerful as they come.  I might have a bit of a girl crush on her. 😉

Keeley and Torin meet while in imprisonment and when Torin touches her bestie, Mary, and death befalls her, Keeley decides she is going to kill Torin as payback, HARD.  I thoroughly enjoyed this part of the book.  Keeley and Torin’s war with each other and smack talking was absolutely hilarious and of course over time their passion and sexual attraction for each other starts to come through.  After just touching Torin once, Keeley instantly falls for him and also becomes deathly ill.  After Torin nurses Keeley back to health, she decides she wants him as soon as possible, despite the fact that he is carrying around the demon disease and has already made her sick once.  (SEE, CRAZY)

So what?  I’m a girl.  I’m allowed to change my mind.

Torin is not quite as crazy and knows that this is a terrible idea and so begins Keeley’s chase to get her man.  He wants Keeley but knows he will only make her sicker and is risking killing her the closer he becomes to her.

Keeley was temptation wrapped in desire, dipped in ecstasy and rolled in satisfaction, and there was no doubt in his mind she’d been designed simply to torture him.

Keeley is a mastermind manipulator and saying no to her is simply not that easy. Throw in a little jealousy from ex fiance, Hades, and you have a complete show stopper.

God, this book really was magnificent.  It was hilarious and sexy and I missed my Lords and felt like I was visiting good friends again being back in their world.  I would have loved to have seen more from William and Gilly.  I am absolutely giddy for their story but I really did enjoy Cameo and a certain someones beginnings and I cannot wait to read more about them soon!  Who is next?  I don’t know but I need it now!
