Synopsis
Cherry’s life growing up was nothing short of a nightmare. Having an abusive father forced her to fend for herself from an early age. Bruised and emotionally broken, she finally escaped, running straight into the comfort that Lip’s arms brought. In the beginning, everything seemed to fall into place perfectly. He made her forget the messed-up ways of her life. But secrets can’t stay neglected. They have a habit of revealing themselves regardless of the consequences. Terrified, Cherry can’t speak a word or she’ll lose it all.
Lip is no stranger to the criminal life. Growing up among convicts, he wanted nothing more than to show his worth. He’ll do anything for the club without question, including serving six years in prison. But nobody could have predicted life’s plan. Rugged, tattooed, and wanting nothing more than to have Cherry, Lip is no longer the man whom Cherry remembers. After his release, he came out a beast with more secrets and lies than his cage could hold.

This series just keeps going from strength to strength and the one consistency with the remarkable M.N Forgy is her ability to surprise and torment me; she can have me fanning myself from the heat from the inferno of sexual tension grasping the two leads or gasping in utter shock, grinning or cringing in equal measure, pretty much any contorted facial expression Jim Carrey has managed to pull in his lifetime this girl has done it reading The Lies Between Us.
‘Respect all members, including ol’ ladies. Have each other’s back no matter what. No lying, no stealing, and no cheating on one another. Live free, ride daily, fuck often.’ When Philip or Lip as he likes to be called gives the illusive Cherry the run down on his rules and the rules he lives by within the MC it marks the beginning of one incredible, miraculous and tumultuous relationship between the two, spanning several years and covering every range of emotion known to man or woman in this case. I really can’t give too much of the story away because to enjoy it you honestly have to just immerse yourself in the telling and complexity of it all. Just know that this book has two of the most complicated, damaged, introspective and caring characters I’ve read. Cherry starts out as this sweet, misjudged and confused teenager with a touch of naivety about her but as the story unfolds and her life becomes embroiled in something so much more dangerous and disheartening than anything she has ever had to face, her character emerges as one with incredible inner strength, tenacity and courage and it’s only when her loyalty and sanity are tested that she realises what kind of girl she is deep down.
Lip. Lip, lip, lip of the pierced member and anger issues. What a refreshingly honest hero. Brutally honest. He goes through so much and has still has so much love and devotion to offer, even through his own confusion and dark, negative thoughts, his tough biker attitude and phenomenal bedroom skills and dirty mouth make up one delicious, secretive and stunning badass dude.
‘“You’re pretty sure of yourself, huh?” I joke. Lip pushes himself up from my belly and rests his forehead on mine, his eyes not giving anything away.
“Cherry, I’ll be your last ‘cause I’ll fuck you like no man can compare. I’m not being arrogant, I’m being honest. When I’m done with you, you’ll have a hunger for my cock like a starved woman. Now let me fuck you, ‘cause that’s all I’ve wanted to do since the day you took my wallet.”
The Lies Between Us is full of brilliant storytelling. It’s gritty, raw and oh so real but underneath all of that there is this thread of hope of absolution and redemption and what makes it so much more, is the fact that we have two strong protagonists on equal footing, one is not better than the other, they both have their insecurities and secrets and problems but it’s what happens in the aftermath when all has been revealed that highlights just what a fabulous author M.N Forgy is.
