Review

Ok, so this is my very first JC Reed book and I really liked this story. The writing was really good and the story caught my interest right away.  I pretty much read this short read in only a couple of hours, so I knocked it out in one sitting.

I enjoyed the mystery and suspense a lot in The Lover’s Secret.  From what I can gather, Brooke has been though some super bad stuff lately and thought she was settling down and moving on.  Unfortunately for her, the past has caught up with her future and she now has more questions than answers; leaving her not knowing what to believe.

Oh my goodness, this story was just so twisty and mysterious.  I was literally glued to this book trying to figure out what the heck was going on.  I feel like I would have been better prepared if I had read the Surrender Your Love series because it took me a bit to catch on to what was happening, but I don’t know if that was a good thing or a bad thing, because I was really intrigued and couldn’t stop reading until I solved the puzzle.  The author did a great job of filling in the blanks from the Surrender Your Love series but I just have a feeling I would have gotten more out of this book if I had read those first.  Because I wasn’t familiar with the characters, I REALLY didn’t know who to believe or trust and one character’s behaviour really left me intrigued.  I found myself really wanting to hear his point of view.  And the cliffy at the end just made me want to scream.  Mystery unsolved until the next book!!!  AHHH!
