REVIEW

I really do love a Rachel Van Dyken book.  There are a few reasons why.  One, they are always sexy without being over the top.  There is always tons of sexual tension but it isn’t overkill.  Two, they are ridiculously funny.  the banter and inner thoughts of her characters just make me giggle.  Three, she does YA and NA angst so darn well.  The Matchmaker’s playbook had all of these things and more and it just happens to be a favorite of mine now.  It worked it’s way right to the top of my most favorite reads along with the Ruin Series.

The author does a fabulous job of writing from the male POV this go around.  The entire book is done this way and I just adored Ian.  I mean, in the beginning he comes of kind like a douche canoe but the more and more I got to know him, the more I fell in love.  Because I truly love a witty guy and Ian has that going for him in spades.

‘When asses wiggled, I had a tendency to pet them.’

I mean the guy is a smoking hot ex football player and hero to boot so there was a lot to love, but seriously did I mention that he was freaking hilarious?!!

‘I was the Grinch whose heart grew three sizes.  I looked down.  Or maybe it was just my cock.’

HAH!  His inner musing made me giggle so much and honestly I just loved Blake for him.  She was absolutely everything he never thought he wanted but does.  She is a tomboy wearing god awful adidas sandals but he still can’t resist her charm and innocence.  Their chemistry was off the charts and I actually thought this one was pretty freaking sexy for a Rachel Van Dyken book.

‘I waved.  She flipped me off.  She might as well have kissed me.’

I just loved this one.  Funny, sexy, and deliciously sweet.  Pick it up now!
