Synopsis

For fans of Christina Lauren and Jodi Ellen Malpas comes the next novel in M. O’Keefe’s breathtakingly sexy series about a woman called into a journey of the heart, body, and soul.

We played our roles, told each other lies.

But now Dylan is no longer just a mysterious deep voice on the other end of the line. We’re face-to-face and our relationship is very, very real.

We still have secrets—but so much is crystal clear:

The thrilling danger.

The raw, naked desire.

The need to keep feeling the way he makes me feel. Forever.

Dylan is putting up walls, trying to keep me safe, but he can’t shut me out. He has seen my darkness and rescued me. Now it’s my turn, if only he will let me.

Review

I want to start by saying how absolutely stunning these covers are for both book and book two in this series.  They are seriously beautiful and sexy and I adore them.  Now that I have gotten that out of that way let’s talk about the amazing job that M. O’Keefe did on this second book.  I wasn’t sure if I was going to love it as much as the first and that is simply because I loved the mystery of the first one.  I loved all of the not knowing of things.  Like how Dylan had Annie spy on Ben and you didn’t know why or who Ben was to him.  I especially loved the sexy sexy phone calls and text between these virtual strangers.  But now I knew that Dylan and Annie knew each other.  I knew who Ben was to Dylan and why he was spying.  So I wasn’t sure going into this book if I was going to enjoy it as much.  But God, I really did and man that beginning.  This book started off right where the last left off with that huge cliffy.  So, basically The Truth About Him started off with a huge bang.  Literally.

‘I was careful.  I was so careful.’

So the story picks up right away with a ton of action and my heart was literally pounding right out of my chest the first couple of chapters and I knew right away that I was going to love this book.  I could not put it down.  So much happens in this second book and I found myself really falling in love with Dylan this time around.  I connected to him so incredibly well and I think it was because it thoughts were so intimate and loving.  God, what a sweet broken man.

‘Because I don’t have any skin, I wanted to shout.  I can feel everything.  I feel too fucking much.’

And Annie really makes some changes this book.  Her character, I mean.  She isn’t the same running broken woman from the first book and I loved seeing her character grow.  Don’t get me wrong now, this book was chalk full of emotion but there was still tons and tons of sensual moments.  Man, definitely sexy.

“Look at you,”

“So bad.  Is that what you want?  You want to be bad, little girl?”

But what I really loved in this book were all the side stories going on while Dylan and Annie’s romance was still brewing.  You have Dylan’s scary as heck brother.  Is he good?  Is he bad?  And I think he might be possibly hooking up with another character from this book.  Then you have Blake, Dylan’s partner and a little surprise there.  Goodness, I hope we get some more books.  I am dying to know what happens with all these crazy stories and amazing characters.  This one was great!

“BEDROCK.  You and Me.  Bedrock.”
