Synopsis

**Each book in this series can be read as a complete standalone.**

I had it all––until I didn’t.
When my job, my livelihood, and my passion are suddenly snatched away from me, I’m left scrambling to keep my head above water. Desperate, I’m forced to walk into the last place I ever thought I’d go. Little did I know that I’d come face-to-face with the woman who would help me pick up the pieces of my unraveled life.

Rebecca Toler’s living the dream––or so I thought.
Beautiful, funny, and tough as nails, she answers to no one. In other words, she was born to be mine.
One problem—she hates me.
It’s time to take my life back, and I’m starting with her.

But, as I’ve learned over the years, sometimes the toughest fight of your life is outside the cage.

REVIEW

A.S. Teague has done it again! Unraveled is so much more than just another fighter story! I read Teague’s debut novel, the first book in this series, Undisputed, and I was blown away by it, totally taken by surprise. She packed a powerful punch of emotions into that book, and I was honestly unprepared for it. This time around, I knew to brace. Under the guise of a sexy fighter’s comeback and romance story, A.S. Teague took her readers to the mat with a story that sexy and brimming with emotion. The focus of this book was two-pronged – Ryker ‘the Stryker’ Hawke’s fall from grace and subsequent comeback story and the romance between him and Rebecca Toler. Both plots are intricately interwoven, and Teague didn’t miss a beat tying them together into a richly developed, exciting and interesting story.

It goes without saying that it takes a certain kind of man to be a fighter. Proud, fierce, unafraid, strong with a fair bit of cocky arrogance. This kind of man is going to be egotistical, and he’s going to be as alpha as they come. Ryker’s fall from grace and his subsequent humiliation was devastating. This man’s power was taken, his reputation was shredded and the life he had been living was stolen from him. Demoralized, dejected and desperate, he shows up at the last place he ever expected to be and the last option he has, humbled but hungry. Literally. It broke my heart reading about this once proud man’s shame over the end of his career and his present circumstances. I don’t think anyone was as hard on Ryker as he was on himself, and it hurt at times to read his story. But showing up at Tripp & Breccan’s gym that day, hat in hand to beg his former nemesis for a job, turned out to be the smartest decision of his entire life.

The love story between Rebecca and Ryker began the minute those blasted bells over the door into the gym tinkled announcing his entrance. Rebecca was a tough as nails, feisty, sarcastic, independent heroine. A former octagon girl on the fighting circuit, she had a less-than-pleasant run-in with Ryker years ago that she’s still nursing a snit over. She may be attracted to this man, but she isn’t sure she even likes him. She sure as heck isn’t going down easy, despite Ryker’s persistent pursuit of her. He was so sweet, so charming, so utterly swoon-worthy. Once she did give in to her feelings, this couple was a force to be reckoned with. She breathed new life into this beaten down man. She relentlessly pursued justice on his behalf and was his biggest supporter, and she did all this by not being afraid to go toe-to-toe with him and by holding her own. They were fantastic together, and I loved every second of their relationship’s build up.

Unraveled was such a pleasant surprise. It was emotional, it was funny, it was romantic and it was sexy. A.S. Teague is a fabulous storyteller, and I’m definitely looking forward to whatever comes next from her, especially if it’s more of these fighters! Five smooches from me for Unraveled by A.S. Teague!
