Review

“Remember? It’s easy with me. No repeat performances. I won’t ask for flowers Or for promises. I won’t even ask you to hold me after.”

The Reed Brothers Series by Tammy Falkner is one of the few series that I have read every book (story) in and I pre-order every book in it that she puts out! While We Waited did not disappoint and while it focused on newer characters we have met in more recent books it could easily be read as a standalone or if you are not fully up to date.

“I wonder what she’s like when she’s not hiding her pain behind her sexuality.”

Tag has a baby and in order to get custody of him had to lie to everyone who cared about him. The two things that turn loose girl Finch off are babies and liars. So how these two very different people came to find that they are soul mates was a magical journey. Tag is unable to resist the charms of Finch, who is known for her one night stands and never gives a re-peat performance. But when Tag gets under her skin Finch has to fight her attraction to him with everything she is.

“I don’t have much, but I earned what I do have, and I want to spend it on you. So let me, okay? Let me value you. Treasure you. Enjoy you. Treat you the way you  should be treated. You can trust me, Finny. I won’t let you fall.”

I love how Tammy does not just make you fall in love with the main characters in her books but she also makes you fall hard for their family and friends. With every new person introduced I am desperate to know their story and in my head I am match making them already.

“Will you do me a favor?” “Depends on what it is.” “Don’t make me fall in love with you unless  you’re capable of loving me back, okay?”

As the lead guitarist for Fallen For Zero, Finch knows about fame and glory but she has never truly felt valued or important in her life and while Tag has nothing to offer in the way of money he tries desperately to show her that she has worth and value and I loved watching her grow to not only love him but love herself too.

“He’s going to break my heart. And I’m going to let him, for the first time ever, it might be okay to be vulnerable, at least with him.”

The Reed Brothers Stories are easy contemporary reads with a dash of angst and some serious sexiness! Tammy’s writing has an easy flow that makes the book a smooth and quick read that will leave your heart lighter and you just a bit happier than you were before you started!
