KISS ME NOT

Releasing August 27th

Let me make this clear right here, right now: I, Halley Dawson, do not care that Preston Wright is kissing other women.

Not a lick. Not at all. Nuh-uh-freakin’-uh.

I do care that he’s doing it six feet away from me behind a gaudy velvet curtain—making him my competition in this year’s kissing contest.

Why do I care, you ask? Because I’ve had an unfortunate crush on the insufferable idiot since I was sixteen years old, but I also know it’s never going to happen.

He’s the Creek Falls bachelor to die for, and I’m the Creek Falls raccoon lady who puts peanut butter sandwiches out for them every night.

I’m not going to let him break my four-year-long reign—no matter how many times he breaks the rules and slides the curtain across to do the one thing he’s not allowed to:

Kiss me.

KISSMETONIGHT-1

KISS ME TONIGHT

Releasing September 24th

What do a wrong number text, a burning building, and a quirky florist have in common?

A hunky firefighter with an extra-large…hosepipe.

In hindsight, I never should have opened that text message. The last thing I needed first thing on a Monday was a picture of some stranger’s, um, eggplant, in my inbox.

I also should have replaced the batteries in my fire alarm, because my Friday night did not need to end with my apartment building going up in flames.

But it’s fine. It’s fine. Everything is fine.

I’m only lying in a hospital bed with more split ends than I’ve ever had, almost all my Earthly possessions have turned to ash, and apparently, they don’t serve wine to patients in this place.

But like I said, it’s fine.

Until he walks in.

The guy who saved my life. My hero. Noah Jacobs.

And the universe is amusing itself at my expense, because the dirty photo I woke up to on Monday?

It’s his.

KISSMEAGAIN

KISS ME AGAIN

Releasing October 22nd

WANTED: ROOMMATE. Must be tidy, polite, and absolutely not my brother’s hot as sin best friend.

I have no idea why I said yes.

Maybe I’d had one too many wines. Maybe I’d done it accidentally. Maybe I’d been sleep-texting.

One thing I know for sure is this: I absolutely do not want Ethan Hawkins in my apartment, up in my business, taking over my space.

Yet he’s here. Moving his stuff into my spare bedroom. Sending a wave of panty-melting, musky man-scent my way every time he walks past me.

Here’s the thing.

We don’t get along—at all. We never have, and I don’t think we’re going to start now that we’re under one roof.

There’s also that little issue where I’m kinda, sorta, totally in love with him…

Uh-oh.

MDM - RB banner.jpg

From New York Times Bestselling Author, Katy Evans, comes a hot romance about two strangers and their race to fall in love.

COVER.jpg

If someone had bet Nell a million dollars that she would be saying “I do” to a complete stranger on national television, she’d have called them crazy, but with her crushing student loan payments sending her deep into the red, she’s out of options. This should be nothing more than a business transaction—until she sets eyes on her groom, and everything changes.

The game is on the instant Luke spots Penelope “Nell” Carpenter. He’s out for the money, yes, but getting a little dirty with Nell doesn’t sound too bad either. Everyone knows he’s not the marrying kind, so it’s a good thing it’s just for show. God knows he’s the worst guy his pretty wife should pick for real.

They have nothing in common, but if they want the grand prize, they’ll have to beat out eight other couples. Proving that total opposites attract should be easy enough…as long as they don’t fall in love in the process.

It’s Not Over by Kaylee Ryan & Lacey Black Release Blitz

IT’S NOT OVER, a sexy new second-chance romance from Lacey Black and New York Times Bestselling Author, Kaylee Ryan, is available now!

Gwen

Lately, life definitely isn’t how I envisioned it. I had it all. The house, the job, the husband. Until one day, I didn’t. I don’t know when exactly things started to change between us, only that it did, and in a big way. So much so, I found myself standing before a judge and signing off on the end of my marriage. To the only man, I’ve ever loved.

Now, he’s back, fighting, and ready to prove to me that we made a mistake, that our love is worth giving this another chance. I’m not sure if he’s right, but I know what my heart wants, and it wants him. My ex-husband.

Harrison

Why is it that you don’t know the depths of your mistakes until you’ve already made them? I knew signing those papers was a bad idea, but I thought that’s what she wanted. The minute we stepped foot out of that courtroom, it hit me. She’s no longer mine.

That’s when I also realized, that I would do anything to change the past. I have so many regrets. Not her. I could never regret her, but how we ended. We never should have ended. I’m in for the battle of my life to convince her to give us another shot. I have a plan, one that will prove to her that, it’s not over.

REVIEW:

I’m a long-time reader of Lacey Black’s, but this was my first time reading Kaylee Ryan. This is also their first collaboration, and I hope it won’t be their last. Their styles worked together well, coming together smoothly and transitioning seamlessly.  I love Lacey’s writing, and for me, her small town romances are the first that come to my mind when I want to get lost in the love stories of a big family in small town USA. But through this book, I’ve now discovered Kaylee Ryan, and I’m very much looking forward to diving into some more of her work.

It’s Not Over, a second-chance, surprise baby romance between the recently divorced Gwen and Harrison, had a bittersweet air to it, and I found myself wanting to shake some sense into these two because it was so obvious that they belonged together. It didn’t take long for them to find their way back, and I was cheering them on the whole way.

Harrison definitely learned his lesson the first time around, and he was all-in, pulling out all the stops to win back the woman he loved. Gwen was a bit more cautious, but Harrison’s swoon-worthy efforts paid off, and she came around. Their chemistry was still hot, despite their years together and their time apart, but it was watching this couple work through the hurt and the history to heal their relationship that really got my heart-hammering.

I devoured It’s Not Over in a day. Gwen and Harrison’s love story made my heart so happy and kept a smile on my face the whole way through. I enjoyed every minute of this charming, engaging and steamy romance, and I can’t wait to for the next collaboration between these two authors. Five smooches from me for It’s Not Over by Lacey Black and Kaylee Ryan!

MBBBF - BT banner

One minute, I’m a woman trying to find her way in the world, and the next, I’m the sender of six of the most embarrassing text messages that have ever been sent in the history of time—or the cell phone.

Whatever.

MBBBF_Cover

Mabel “Maybe” Willis died a virgin at the very young age of twenty-four.

She leaves behind her parents, Betty and Bruce, her brother, Evan, a laptop filled with one too many Jason Momoa memes, and a Kindle library with more books than one human being could ever finish in a lifetime.

Cause of death: a text message.

Okay. So, I didn’t die.

But I may as well have.

One minute, I’m a woman trying to find her way in the world, and the next, I’m the sender of six of the most embarrassing text messages that have ever been sent in the history of time—or the cell phone. Whatever.

We’re talking code red, send a flipping mayday, the apocalypse is coming kind of texts.

And I didn’t just send them to some random person I’ll never see again.

No. That would be too easy.

I sent them to Milo Ives.

The man who played a starring role in all of my teenage fantasies—and my brother’s lifelong best friend.

And, boy oh boy, has he grown up.

He’s hard-bodied, blue-eyed, jawline-of-stone handsome, crazy successful, and has more money in his bank account than my brain can fathom.

Deflower me, please? I said.

Yeah. Send help.

EXCERPT:

Maybe

Here I rest, you guys.

I. Mother-flapjacking P. to me.

And now, I’m coming to you live from what I believe is the afterlife.

Just think of this as that morning show with Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest, Live with Kelly and Ryan.

Only, change the name to DEAD with Maybe, take away the celebrity guests, and fill the audience with people who don’t mind witnessing a full-on embarrassment-fueled emotional breakdown.

Good God, if I would’ve known I was going to kick the bucket right before I reached twenty-five, I sure as shit wouldn’t have spent the last six years of my life slaving away at Stanford for a bachelor’s and master’s degree in English Lit.

I would’ve partied in college rather than studying until my eyeballs bled.

I would’ve danced on bars. Flashed some nip for beads at Mardi Gras. Actually gone to Mardi Gras.

I would have indulged in unlimited pasta night at the Olive Garden instead of counting carbs, and I wouldn’t have stopped binge-watching Game of Thrones on season flipping six.

I would have tongue-kissed loads of guys and spread my legs like a contortionist for any of them who seemed reasonably adept.

You know, a little bam-bam in my ham-ham.

Some not-too-big, but not-too-small P in my V.

A good old-fashioned pants-off dance-off…

Sex, you guys. I’m talking about sex. And if you haven’t picked up what I’m putting down from my delirious ramble, I’ll lay it out for you.

I’ve yet to be sexed up by anyone.

That’s right. I have officially bought myself a one-way ticket to the afterlife as a virgin for-freaking-eternity.

And now, I guess I’ll never know how it feels to have an actual penis rub up against my G-spot because, you know, I’m dead. And I’m pretty certain God probably frowns upon people flashing their boobs at the angels and public displays of leg-spreading and definitely the unchaste actions of a desperate-to-bone but unwed woman. No way. Heaven’s strictly G-rated.

I put it all off. I figured I had time. I mean, I thought I’d at least get to see The Office do a reunion special before I went lights out for good.

Although, my parents’ flower shop feels more like purgatory than heaven, and I thought for sure I’d be wearing something other than jean shorts and Converse when I headed to meet the Big Guy upstairs.

Honestly, the afterlife feels eerily like real life, and I’m not one to be dramatic, but I have to be dead, you guys. Seriously. Because no one could live through what I did.

I’m talking a 10.0 on the Richter Scale of embarrassing and awkward.

A Category 5 hurricane of humiliation.

A twisting, catastrophic EF5 tornado of comedic disaster.

No freaking way I survived that…right?

Okay. Fine. So, I can be a little dramatic sometimes…

And maybe, just maybe, I’m exaggerating things a bit here, but I’m doing it in the name of self-preservation.

Because, trust me, if you did what I did, you’d let yourself mentally pretend to be dead for a little bit too.

Because if I’m not dead, I’m going to have to face the consequences of my awful, humiliating, cringeworthy actions.

I’m going to have to face him.

Milo Ives—a tall, handsome, unbelievably sexy drink of water.

A man I’ve known since I was a prepubescent girl.

A man I’ve basically been crushing on my whole damn life.

A billion-dollar-empire kind of successful man who just so happens to be my brother’s best friend.

I’ll say it again for the folks in the back.

Milo Ives is my brother’s billionaire best friend.

And I’m in way over my head.

REVIEW:

Infinite is the conclusion to The Indefinite Duet, and Corinne Michaels, evil genius that she is, left readers off on one heck of a cliffhanger in the first book of this duet, Indefinite. Michaels is known for her emotionally fraught, hard fought romances, and she delivered that, and so much more, in this duet.

I’m not going to say a lot about the story or the plot because I think readers need to go into the second half of it without knowing any more than they did at the end of Indefinite. I’ll just say that the first half of the story lays the groundwork for a gripping, riveting, intense conclusion in Infinite. My emotions were all over the place, and I ached, I sobbed, and I railed at all these characters endured. I was a mess reading most of this book, and I couldn’t put it down. Michaels dragged me right into the story with her captivating, enthralling writing, and she managed to both exhaust and exhilarate me emotionally.

This is the kind of story Corinne Michaels was meant to tell. Her ability to give voice to these difficult, painful journeys to happily ever after is unique to her. She runs her readers through the emotional wringer, shredding them right along with her characters, before she pieces those shreds back together in a way that makes all the pain part of the pleasure. The conclusion to The Indefinite Duet, Infinite, was an unforgettable, incredible story about the power of love, and Michaels told it painstakingly, precisely and perfectly. Five smooches from me!

Excerpt from THE UPSIDE OF FALLING:

Head turned down, pushing the sleeves of his white Henley up his arms, he swaggers toward me. His jeans hang low on his hips, held up by the same brown belt he wore the other night. His narrow waist directs my eyes to the center of his jeans, and I can’t help wonder what might be behind the crotch of his pants.

And then there is his chest. Barrel like, broad and prominent. His thick biceps showcase his strength, and the fabric of his shirt stretches over his shoulders and forearms.

Having spent a lot of time at the gym, I’ve seen every body type, but Colby’s is different. He’s strong, built, but not like a body builder. His body seems to suggest the only kind of weight he’s been lifting is his own body, pushup after pushup. I can’t imagine there being barbells in his workouts, but I can imagine logs, cadets, and heavy machinery. He has working muscles, the kind you earn from hard, dedicated work on the field. In a word? Impressive.

Walking up to Stryder, he grips his friend’s shoulder and says something into his ear. A smirk crosses Stryder’s face before he moves over to our side of the bowling alley and takes Colby’s place.

Is he leaving? Already?

Might as well at this point. It’s not like he’s going to talk to me, not after my pathetic attempt at a bet. I should have known I was going to hang out in the gutter all night. It’s where I usually am when I’m bowling. I blame the ball. The thing has a vendetta against me.

Sighing, I prop my chin in my hand and watch Stryder expertly toss his ball down the lane, getting a strike . . . once again. And just like every other strike, he pumps his arm up in the air and celebrates. We get it, you’re good, no need to—

“Hey.”

That voice . . .

Stunned, eyes wide, not able to move, not wanting to scare him away, I keep my eyes trained forward, soaking in that beautifully deep voice of his for a brief moment before saying, “Hey.”

“Can I sit here?”

Still keeping my eyes trained forward, I say, “Sure.”

My body tingles with awareness of how close he is to me, that fresh laundry scent invading my senses, prickling the little hairs on my arm. My body leans toward his, wanting a little more, searching for anything else he might give me. I don’t know why he’s choosing to engage me in conversation, but I’m sure as hell not moving while he does.

“Sorry about tonight,” he says and he actually sounds sincere.

“Why are you sorry?” I mumble.

Reaching around, he takes my cheek in his hand. The callouses on his palm rubbing against my skin is a welcome sensation. As I’m turned toward him, I steady my breathing. I’m having a hard time slowing my heart rate because of his close proximity, and the unexpected touch shooting a wave of heat through my veins.

“I’m sorry you didn’t get to ask me any questions. I didn’t think you were going to suck that bad.” A playful smile tugs at his lips, and my heart sinks to the floor. Oh God, he’s so gorgeous, especially when he smiles.

Matching his smirk, I say, “I didn’t think I was going to suck that bad either.”

“I feel bad.”

“You should.” That garners a laugh, deep and throaty, the sound cloaking me like a shield, protecting me from the outside world, bringing me into a little bubble where we are the only two that exist.

“Ask me a question.”

Shocked, I swallow hard and say, “Really?”

He nods and holds up his fingers. “You get three.”

“Oh, three? Wow, I feel like you just gave me the key to your soul.”

“Yeah, three questions I didn’t have before.” Tapping my chin, I try to think of good questions, but now that I have him willing and waiting, nothing comes to mind. I wasn’t prepared for this, he caught me off-guard, and now I feel I can’t be strategic about my probing. “Hmm . . . what do you like to do on the weekends?”

“Jump,” he answers.

Searching his eyes, lips quirked, I say, “Uh, you’re going to have to be more specific than that. What kind of jumping are we talking here? Like jump roping? Because that seems kind of weird to do on the weekends, and if you tell me you’re in some kind of jump-roping club at the academy, I’m not going to believe you.”

His lips curve up as he scratches the side of his jaw. “Jump out of airplanes.”

Oh.

Oh.

That’s . . .

Uh, that’s really hot.

“So you just casually jump out of airplanes?”

“I’m part of the Wings of Blue, the academy’s parachute team. We jump every day, at least two to three times a day after class and before dinner, depending on wind and ceiling limits. On the weekends, some of the guys, including Stryder and me, go to Springs East Airport and do civilian jumps. The more jumps we get in, the higher the chance we’ll be considered for big demonstrations, like parachuting into football games and major sporting events for the Rockies and Broncos.” Ummmm. Did anyone else just hear how many words he gifted me? And seriously? Does the man have no clue how incredibly sexy he is when he talks about something he loves? The expression on his face . . .

“Wow, that’s . . . that’s really hot.” I chuckle. “Sorry, I don’t mean to fangirl over your parachuting, but I guess I wasn’t expecting that answer. You just jump out of planes?”

He slowly nods. “Every day.”

“Anything to get you up in the clouds, huh?”

“Yeah,” he answers shyly, rubbing his jaw. “Okay, next question.”

I said.

Yeah. Send help.

My Brother’s Billionaire Best Friend by Max Monroe Review

5 SMOOCHES!

SYNOPSIS:

Mabel “Maybe” Willis died a virgin at the very young age of twenty-four.

She leaves behind her parents, Betty and Bruce, her brother, Evan, a laptop filled with one too many Jason Momoa memes, and a Kindle library with more books than one human being could ever finish in a lifetime.

Cause of death: a text message.

REVIEW:

I have yet to read a book by the talented author duo that is Max Monroe that I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed. Always hilarious, their romantic comedies pack a one-two punch of steam and story. Creative, imaginative plots, endearing, relatable characters and romances that are as heart-tugging as they are heart-pounding, Max and Monroe deliver the goods every single time. Teetering on the edge of ridiculous, the humor in their stories is the kind of stuff that makes readers laugh audibly, so considered yourself warned should you attempt reading their books in public.

My Brother’s Billionaire Best Friend piqued my interest because I love the brother’s best friend/best friend’s little sister trope, especially when it’s coupled with an unrequited, adolescent crush. I loved Maybe Willis. She was innocently naïve, and she was completely oblivious to the fact that she was gorgeous. Her sense of humor and her slightly awkward social ineptitude made her such a charming character. But it was her drive and determination, the way that she set her sights on what she wanted and made like Nike and just did it that made her the perfect match for billionaire Milo Ives.

Milo Ives, or Billionaireman as Maybe dubbed him, is a pretty down-to-earth guy. Hard working, driven and loyal, he jumps at the chance to help little Maybe Willis with some connections for her job hunt when her brother, Evan, the CFO of Milo’s company, asks. He hasn’t seen her in nearly a decade, and he’s still envisioning the starry-eyed, awkward teenage girl she was the last time he saw her. He was ill prepared for goddess she’s grown into. Her sweet, innocent seduction of him was blistering hot, yet wholly hilarious—thanks to Maybe’s self-appointed new best friend, Lena, the boho-chic trust fund baby/barista/relationship guru. Their love story was unique in that aside from the heat and the humor their journey included, there was also a coming-of-age, poignant quality to it that made Maybe and Milo’s romance totally swoon-worthy, addictive and unputdownable.

My Brother’s Billionaire Best Friend was quintessential Max Monroe—a fantastic blend of sweet, sexy romance and the kind of laugh-out-loud, smiling ear-to-ear humor that readers have come crave this author. A fabulously executed, light-hearted pleasure to read, I devoured this book until my cheeks ached from smiling. Five smooches from me for My Brother’s Billionaire Best Friend by Max Monroe!
