Excerpt from Forever Dark

She turns around and wraps her arms around my neck, her hips grinding against mine. I do the same and smile slightly when I feel her body curve around mine.

“What are you doing to me?” I whisper in her ear. She could stab me in the heart at this point and it wouldn’t hurt as much as it does to see her control me like this. I want to walk away but in reality, in my fucked up sense of reality, a world without her in it isn’t worth living.

Her eyes water and I hold her closer, I want to fucking kiss her in front of everyone. I want to fuck her against the wall in front of this room just to let them know she’s mine. My face is close enough that I smell her sweetness, the coconut of her shampoo but she smells like me too. She smells like my sweat. My scent is all over her and I like that.

“What?” she asks, her breath hitting my skin. It sends shivers through my chest.

You.” Pulling back, I watch her reaction feeling her chest heaving against mine. I can feel the beat in hers thumping wildly against mine. “What are you doing to me?”

She hesitates to answer.

I curve an eyebrow at her, she stops moving.

Nothing.

She gives nothing.

Excerpt from Forever Light

I roll onto my back and stare up to the sky. It’s a clear cold night with the stars shining brightly. “I didn’t treat you right, Macy, not the way I should have.” She’s quiet. “I took your love for granted. When you gave me your virginity our sophomore year I didn’t realize then what you were sharing with me.” I huff. “I should have loved you more but I didn’t take the time. I didn’t realize what was right in front of me.”

Macy crawls over and lies against my side and holds my hand.

“See,” I try to smile but it fails. “I should have done that. I feel like I’m not good enough for you.” My throat feels tight.

“Landon, you are. This is you and I love you with your flaws and all. If I didn’t I wouldn’t be here.” Macy squeezes my hand. “I’m been holding on hoping that one day you’d see me again. You’d come back to me.”

“My light. You’re my light in the darkness.”

Macy’s eyes glass over. “Landon, I’m all out of tears. I’m crumbling and for once I need you. I. Need. You.”

I roll over and kiss her with no hesitation. “I’m here, baby.”

I rest my forehead on hers. “I love you, Landon.”

All the fight leaves me, I am no longer angry. I am nothing without Macy in my life and it’s taken passing through the gates of hell to get to this point. “I love you too.”

I lie back and Macy lays her head on my chest. We’re quiet for some time.

“Are we okay?” I ask.

She sighs, “We’re always okay.”

“Well, that’s a problem.”

“I’m just thankful I have you. All the other shit can be worked out.”

That night Macy and I slept out in the hammock. We never did find out if we still have it but I know we do. That night wasn’t about that. It was about us finding our way back to each other. It was about finding my forever light.

A stay-at-home mom, Chelsea spends her days drinking entirely too much caffeine, baking sugar-sweet treats she never eats, playing on Pinterest, and jotting down notes for her novels. A dreamer at heart, she’s been creating happily-ever-afters. She’s a lover, a writer, a dreamer, would rather type than speak, wants to remember everything, loves lots of ice in her drinks, and is slightly introverted.

“That’s why you took me to your place?  To have your way with me since you’re a pro surfer now and could probably have any guy you wanted?”  I responded in all seriousness.

“Well, I mean, no it’s not like that.  I just-” I shut her up by leaning in and giving a chaste kiss, followed by a deeper, open mouthed kiss.  Her hands found the back of my head and she started kneading and pulling on my hair.

It felt fucking amazing to be able to feel wanted again.  Her lips were soft and plump while her tongue took a moment to find a good rhythm. She definitely wasn’t an expert at it.

Cami.  I pushed the thought to the back of my mind.  I deserved to live again.  I wanted this.  For the first time in almost a year, I wanted to be with someone.

Grasping the hem of my shirt, Mica fumbled to pull it over my head.  I smiled thinking how inexperienced she was.  Standing up, I pulled on her top and she stood, raised her arms, and watched without movement as I took in her beautiful body.

“Are you gonna sit down or not?” he asked.

“I’m really uncomfortable with”—I gestured toward the woman—“this.” “That’s not exactly my problem,” he said, dropping a hand to rest on her head. “But if it’s an issue, you can take her place.”

“No,” I said quickly.

“Then sit the fuck down and tell me why you’re here.”

His voice tightened, and I realized he was running out of patience. Fair enough—he obviously had other things on his . . . ahem . . . mind. I carefully perched on the edge of the couch, facing the door. This was actually better, I realized. I didn’t have to look at him now. Although I could feel the woman’s movements through the furniture frame and that was very creepy.

“My cousin’s daughter is somewhere at this party,” I said quickly. “Her name is Jessica, and she has very poor judgment. I’d really like to get her out of here and home before she does something completely stupid.”

Like set the building on fire.

“You got shit timing.”

I didn’t respond, because what the hell would I say? So far as I knew, Hallmark didn’t make a “Sorry I Interrupted Your Oral Sex” card.

Review

The succinctly stated, yet absurd opening completely reels you in. London, poor London. You may not like her. Hell, I had a hard time through the middle half of the book, but she does end up proving herself in the end. There’s a lot of buildup with London and Picnic and their potential relationship. Pic makes it clear that he wants to fuck her. We already knew that he had a thing for her. But the complications just keep coming out of the woodwork. She has a boyfriend. Check. They haven’t been intimate yet, but he’s a deputy for the Sheriff’s department and has been really sweet to her. Check. London’s young cousin Jessica who she has been raising is causing all sorts of problems. Check. With the Reapers, no less. Oh crappity, shit just got real. The beginning of the well, beginning I suppose, is London has to ask Picnic for help with Jessica while she is at a party at the Armory. It’s there that Pic makes his intentions clear and London suddenly finds herself between a hot, hard, biker man and her sweet sensitive boyfriend back home. What’s a girl to do? Probably the hardest lesson London had to learn during this book was that appearances can be deceiving.

As we all know, Pic is wise. He’d have to be, being the big man that he is. He, of course, knows things that London does not. He tries to guide her to the truth, but she is really blinded by her love for her cousin Jessica. It’s almost like she doesn’t have any sense of self-preservation. Her one focus, her only goal is making sure Jessica is all right. This leads her to many, many problems. Some crazy stuff happens, all the while her and Picnic start something up. Granted, everything happens over the course of a week or so, but the main problem I had with London was that she didn’t confide in Picnic. It made everything a million times worse for her, and to be honest, I don’t blame Picnic for his reaction.

Without giving too much away, the action in this fourth installment of the Reapers gets insane with houses blowing up, girls running away from home, the cartel using humans as pawns in their sick games, people jumping out of windows, warehouses blowing up, and bodies stacking up on all sides. That’s what I love most about these books. The ongoing complexity of the war the Reapers are facing and the budding relationships that could change everything. It’s intense. It’s scary. And there are twists and turns to keep you entertained. I can’t wait for the next one!

Part I

Innocence

Past

What is love?

I dont know.

Ive never had it.

Is it even real?

No, I dont think so. I mean, how can I believe in love when Ive never witnessed it? When it seems to only exist in books and films, or in the lives of more fortunate people than me? Trust me, I know.

Love is my personal chimera.

I am gazing at brown eyes, admiring the richness of the color, the beauty of the man to whom they belong to.

Youre so beautiful, Blaire so wet, he murmurs, his hand going between my legs as he begins to rub me. His fingers spread me open to their soft invasion, tuning my body to his wants and needs, preparing me to be taken as the hot friction of his touch lights a wild fire within my body. Its not the first time he has touched me like this, but each time feels better and betterthe sensations all-consuming and heady.

One finger.

Two fingers.

One finger.

Two fingers.

Over and over again.

His invasion is fast and slow, deep and shallow. His touch is soiled heaven.

As I open my legs wider for him, I wonder if it feels this good because of him or because Im taking something that doesnt belong to me and making it mine.

Oh God I love you, Blaire. I love you I love you …” he pants in my ear.

Dont stop it feels so good, I breathe.

Okay, maybe its because at this moment in time this man thinks he loves me and no one else but me, however false his proclamation may be.

I close my eyes as his lips land on mine. He kisses me softly as if Im made out of gold, kissing me with that familiar mouth Ive seen smile tenderly at me so many times before. The assault of his tongue debilitates me but doesnt incapacitate me.

Its four dollars, gorgeous, the cute barista says, smiling at me.

Im about to pay for my cappuccino when I hear a deep, manly voice say, Let me get that for you.

A man wearing a beige suit comes forward, standing next to me as he hands the barista some bills. Ive seen you around youre Paiges friend.

I smile, licking my suddenly dry lips. Thank you, and yes I know Paige.

The smile on his handsome face seems to freeze as his gaze follows the tip of my tongue, the spark of hunger brightening his eyes. Inwardly, I smile because who knew it was so easy to make men desire me, particularly when I went without attention for so long.

My pleasure. Are you,he coughs, here with someone else?

I shake my head and look at him through fluttering eyelashes. No, Im here all by myself.I pause, touching his arm invitingly, and smile. Would you like to join me?

He looks around the coffee shop, probably considering if he should, if its proper to do so, but less than five seconds later, hes staring at me once again. Sure.

Yes, just like that.

The beige walls are spinning.

The clock is ticking.

The bedsprings creak as the moon cries outside the motel window.

And the man above me kisses me while he fingers me, preparing me for him. Gotta love such a thoughtful man.

I can taste his sweet saliva mixing with mine, and I love it.

Please, I beg against his lips, reaching for his hard cock and wrapping my fingers around it. Im ready.

I feel his mouth leave mine as he begins to make his way down my partially dressed body. Are you sure, Blaire? Are you sure you want to do this with me?

I open my eyes to witness what I think I want him to do. No, what Im sure I want him to do. I cant help the smile I feel playing on my lips as I see him struggling with his conscience. He asks me if Im sure when he has already fucked my mouth with his cock countless number of times, when his fingers have filled every orifice of my body. Should I laugh? No I decide to take pity instead.

Im sure, so sure, I say, letting my arms land like dead weight on the bed, the cheap fabric rough against my skin.

All right.

When I feel the bed dip between my legs, I instinctively open them for him and watch as he brings a condom package to his mouth. As he rips it open with his teeth, I admire his perfect full lips that emphasize how masculine he is.

I feel pleased with myself.

So fucking pleased because he wants me.

Mr. Callahan wants me. Me. Can you believe it? Chubby Blaire. Ugly and awkward Blaire.

Unlovable Blaire.

I guess Im not that ugly anymore. My body? What was considered fat as a child is now called boobs and ass. Guys want it. They want me. They want to touch me, grope me, feel me they want to screw me. And it feels good to be wanted so good. It makes me feel powerful, and like a potent drug spreading inside your bloodstream, I want more.

I need more.

Hurry up, I say, not bothering to be shy or coy about it. I mean, he brought me here to have sex, right?

Fuck, give me a second, Blaire. Trying to get the damn condom on my dick.
As he rolls the rubber on his stiff dick, his eyes wonder over my bare chest, my face, my spread legs. Shaking his head as if trying to clear his mind, he mutters, Youre so beautiful. I want you so much.

That’s not the first time I have heard those words come out of a mans mouth. Josh tells me all the time how beautiful I am, how perfect I am, how much he wants me, how much he loves me. But hes my friend with benefits. The words kind of lose their meaning when its the same person saying them to you over and over again.

Show me.

Those two words are all it takes for him to spread my legs wider with his hands and finally enter me with his throbbing dick. Pain shoots through my body, and a groan escapes my mouth when he covers my body with his. I feel his whole length inside me in one deep thrust.

Christ, youre so tight.

He lifts both my legs, wrapping them around his lean waist and starts to thrust. Hard. It hurts. But I like the pain. It sobers me.

And thats when reality comes crashing down on me. It hits me with the speed and blinding power of a torpedo, making me realize what Im doing. What Im giving away and the man doesnt even know it.

What the hell am I doing?

Proving that you are your mothers daughter.

Making her proud.

The room is filled with the noises of the man grunting his pleasure and the wet slapping of our skin; it makes me want to gag. I want to throw up. Maybe its the alcohol I drank.

Maybe its self-disgust.

The initial pain is gone and now I just feel sore. And strange.

His beautiful face lowers, his lips about to connect with mine, and I feel the bile rise inside my throat. I turn my face to the side, his kiss landing on my cheek. My eyes watch the way the lights in the bathroom illuminate all its used and dirty ugliness.

Oh God, Im going to come Im going to come Im going to come, he continues to pant in my ear, pumping in and out of my body. Before I know whats happening, he half-screams and half groans, his body going tense on top of mine.

And just like that its over. In less than five minutes Ive managed to kill a part of me.

Our breathing evens and he pulls out, moving to stand up. I push myself up on my elbows to see him inspect his condom. It still glistens. By the time he lifts his eyes, connecting with mine, Ive already wrapped my body with the duvet cover.

Confusion, shock, and pleasure reflect in those brown eyes. I-I didnt know I …” His hands go to his hair as we stare at each other. I didnt know you were a virgin.

I shrug my shoulder carelessly, causing the duvet to slide down, exposing my bare breasts to him. His eyes immediately flare with lust. It doesnt matter I wanted it to be you.

And thats the truth.

But—”

But nothing. If it bothers you, then forget it happened. I already did, I say, ending the conversation.

This is my body. I will have the last word. Not him. Not anyone. This is my life. This is my decision.

Without giving myself a chance to doubt my next words, I turn to look at him in all his naked beauty, the gold wedding ring on his finger catching my attention. Dont worry, Mr. Callahan I wont tell your daughter that you fucked her classmate.

And with that, I seal my destiny.

Excerpt:

“Leave,” James repeats. The word sweeps over the boys surrounding me like an icy cold breeze from the asscrack of Antarctica. He’s really got the serial killer vibe going on. Even I have to resist the urge to jump up and run for the hills. I don’t blame my harem for scattering, leaving me sitting exposed and undefended on the counter, at the mercy of James Reid.

I point at him. “You scared away my harem.”

“Those guys were looking at you like you’re a piece of meat.” His tone is thick with disgust.

“Technically I am a piece of meat. Plus bones and stuff. Also, don’t you think that’s a bit hypocritical?”

I expect him to scoff at this, to shrug it off or deny it. Instead he cuts his eyes away from me. “I’m sorry,” he says finally. “I shouldn’t have jump—”

“Jump-started my car for me,” I interrupted loudly, fully aware that Sigrid is straining to listen in on our conversation, even if she is across the room. “You’re right. You should have just let me take it to the shop. Some things should be done by professionals.”

A ghost of a smile traces its way upward from the corners of his lips. It’s the first time I’ve seen him smile, and damn, is it dangerous. I swallow and look away. “Although—even though I know that I shouldn’t have let you near my car, and you’re definitely not coming near it again, you don’t need to apologize. At the time, I really wanted you to jump-start my car.”

My phone buzzes. I glance down. A text from Iris. Think of a better euphemism. You’re not being subtle.

“Did you just say I’m not a professional?” he asks, leaning one-handed on the counter so that his thumb is bare inches away from my thigh. He’s close enough to count the goose pimples that appear on my skin.

“Definitely an amateur,” I smirk.

His hand inches closer. “Why don’t you call me next time your car needs some work done and I’ll show you more of what I’m capable of.”

If they find out?

Fiona’s screwed

Review

“Do you hear that? That is the sound of my death. If she finds out I slept with you, I am fucked. And not the good kind of fucked.”

This was a fast and fun read with a unique plot! I had previously read Adrian Lessons by LA Rose and knew I was in for a sexy and hilarious story. LA Rose is just one of those authors you wish everyone would discover. She knows just how to mix humor, sexiness and romance into a captivating book!

james

Fiona is in college and wants to let loose. After growing up about as sheltered as you can imagine she is finally out and free and living life to the fullest. This means dressing provocatively, going out a lot, pledging a sorority and becoming somewhat promiscuous! This is all working in her favor until the last guy she had anonymous sex with is the one guy she isn’t supposed to touch while pledging. James Reid is a former TV star and now a student at the same college that Fiona goes to. Part of the pledge process is to compete in a set of games in which the winner gets a date with James. What is the catch . . . no contact until the games are over. UH OH! Somehow while trying to avoid James she seems to constantly be doing the opposite! They are clearly attracted to each other but Fiona needs to decide what is more important, how she feels about James or finally belonging to a popular group.

“My nipples are fabulous and everyone should see them.”

While the premise of this book is slightly kitschy and silly that too is it’s appeal. I personally don’t read fiction books because they are like real life, I read them because they are an escape from real life! While being a little silly this book still had plenty of depth and feeling and I honestly loved every moment of it!

“Now, imagine what I could have don’t with two hands.”

James is super sexy and Fiona is a force to be reckoned with! I loved them both and together, WOW! They were so sexy and intense! AMAZING! At times James seems like he isn’t the best of guys but that’s okay because at times Fiona seems like she is kind of self centered but clearly they both need each other to find peace within themselves. I love that they seem to make each other better people!

“I am starting to suspect I mean something to him, and I hate how unspoken it is. I want things blunt and clear and outspoken, always. I drown in murky waters.”

I am definitely a LA Rose fan now and cannot wait for her to release more books! Good wit is harder than good sex and in both James Games and Adrians Lessons she has excelled at both!

Saying “I love you” doesn’t erase the old scars and fears.

“I love you to insanity. I’m not even sure if it’s a good thing.” — Duke

Skye is trying to overcome what happened with Sean. Now that she’s slowly healing, both physically and mentally, she’s determined to do something she should have done sooner.

She’s meeting twice a week with a new, very young therapist, Dr. Marshall.

There, she’s able to talk freely, unwind, and question things. Most of the sessions she talks about herself and her hangups, along with her relationship with Duke, which is still on rocky ground.

“I want to taste his sweat. I want to hear his groans. I want to feel him inside of me.” — Skye

But while Skye is slowly getting back on her feet, Duke feels like he’s drowning. He’s afraid of pushing her too much, of initiating intimacy, and it’s weighing between them. Moreover, knowing that he’s not the one she’s talking to anymore is making him feel things he never thought possible.

“It’s a matter of when I’ll stop fighting.” — Duke

As days pass, Duke is showing over and over how vulnerable he truly is and how Skye has more power over him than she ever imagined.

When Skye sees how they keep hurting each other, she’s determined to do everything in her power to make things right, no matter what the cost.

But one thing is still sure; she can count on Duke whenever she needs him, even if they disagree and fight. When Duke loves, he loves with everything he’s made of, the good and the bad.

“Loving her is confusing, making me afraid of myself and what I can do … because I can break us both.” — Duke

In Patch Up and Fix Up you had Skye and Duke’s story.

Now, it’s time for Derek and Kate to find their path.

He fights for the people he loves.

She fights against love.

Kate Andrews is starting her second year of college in Seattle. She is happy to leave Chicago and her dysfunctional family behind to be with her friends again. Growing up she thought that her parents’ loveless marriage was all her father’s fault, but that summer she discovered that things are so much more complicated in life and love. Her mother is bipolar. That doesn’t mean her father isn’t unfaithful, nor does he support her and her choices. Additionally, he isn’t a great father or husband, but it brings a new perspective in her life; the way she envisions love.

Derek Williams graduated college a few months ago, and while he moved back in again with his single mother and teenage brother, he never thought that he would be struggling with two crappy jobs. He is not succeeding in either of his jobs or in his countless plans for the future. Instead, he’s trying to bring back his brother and set him on a straight path, while trying to avoid the wrong crowd hounding him, thanks to his brother. Together with fighting his mother on her lack of support in their family, this all has caused chaos.

“Yes, my life is a fucking mess. I have nothing for that girl who deserves everything, and yet I still can’t just sit on my ass and wait for the next asshole to pursue her.‘’ — DEREK

Both of them are very different. Their upbringing is opposite; their vision of love and life contrast, and yet …

“I want to open up to it, open up to the possibility of heartbreak even if I’m scared to death. I’m ready to change up.” — KATE

They’re both still hung up on each other. They can’t forget that one night they shared months ago, can’t ignore their attraction and quickly maturing love. They match in every way that matters, but time and time again their respective families are getting in the way.

“He’s the commitment kind while I’m anti-commitment.” — KATE

Are they willing to fight for each other? Is Kate ready to risk her comfort and everything else for love? Is Derek prepared to chose which battles are worth fighting for?

“It’s never been friendship, and it’ll never be.’’ — DEREK
