Synopsis
Every day for six years, I used to pray that I would find my way back to the boy I loved.
Until finally, one day, I did.
But that’s the funny thing about life. Nothing good ever lasts, not for me, anyway. You think you’re the one with the power, at least I did, but then I got careless. One tiny mistake, and now I am powerless to stop what comes next.
People think money equals power, but all the money in my bank account, the dirty notes laundered clean that my father left for me, are useless.
Money does not equal power. Power is held by the one with the knife in his hand, tracing shallow cuts into your skin.
Power is held by the one who owns you.
I had power once.
Now, I have nothing.

Series Recap:
Ok, let’s do a recap of this amazing series to get everyone caught up. For those of you that have read and loved this series, this will be short and sweet. For those of you just getting introduced, hopefully this will entice you to a new world. So, here we go. Juliette is a young girl. She is sweet, innocent, in love with a boy. Unfortunately, this boy has an evil father. Dornan Ross is the head of an MC and Juliette’s father owes a debt. Now, I will not sugar coat this. This series, and particularly, this scene is savage in it’s brutality. A young, innocent girl is violated by Dornan and his seven sons. Yes, seven sons. Jase, is the youngest son that is in love with Juliette and he is forced to watch as his father and his older brothers rip her to shreds. She is left, barely alive on the steps of a hospital. Now it is discovered later on, there is a reason she was kept alive, but when Dornan and his men go back to retrieve her from the hospital, it is discovered that she has in fact died. Or so they believe.
A young, kind police officer, Elliot, smuggled Juliette from the hospital and helped her escape the sinister deeds of Dornan Ross and he moved her to the Midwest to heal and hopefully leave the whole mess behind her. But true healing did not happen. Only plotting, and scheming, and the fire that raged through Juliette became so much that she could only do one thing: seek revenge. Her scheme is simple. She is going to have plastic surgery, so no one will recognize her, and she will infiltrate the club and slowly but surely, take down every single Ross man till they are no more. Years and years of planning and once she gains control of her inheritance at the age of twenty-one, she puts her plan into motion.
Now, it must be said, this part is kind of…icky. The only way she feels she can infiltrate and effectively is to, how shall we put it, use her feminine wiles to seduce Dornan. Yes, total gross out! I mean, this is the man that perpetrated her torture. A man who is pure evil. Why oh why is she going to put herself in that position? But she does. And it works. Splendidly. Ugh, it’s almost annoying how well Lili writes. Ok, that’s not fair. The beauty in her brutality, the brutality of her words is so over powering, and that is annoying. You don’t want to like any of these characters. None of them. Ok, maybe Elliot, but everyone is scarred, bruised, battered, beaten, and some more than others. They are not good human beings going to cook-outs and volunteering at the local shelter. They are heinous and mean and rough. And yet, you understand. You understand Juliette’s need for revenge. Most assuredly, you do. And you understand Jase’s need to protect her, even though he doesn’t know who he is protecting.
Ok, so the stage is set. Juliette has infiltrated the Gypsy Brothers MC as Dornan’s head whore (ick) and she slowly, but surely starts taking down one of the brothers at a time. It must be noted, this could be easily done in one fell swoop with say, a bomb, a flamethrower, something to that effect, but no. That’s not Juliette’s style. She is going to see their eyes and let them know exactly, who brought them down before she murders them. First up is Chad. Poor Chad, and his energy drinking consumption. Yeah, right. Next up is Maxi. Maxi and his “bad” coke. Poor bastard. Next, Jazz and Ant go boom. (Insert evil laugh). And finally Mickey falls down, thanks to a trusty dusty bullet.
And that brings us up to date. 5 brothers down and Dornan still alive to seek retribution. Now read on for my take on book 5 in the 7 part series, Three Years.
Three Years
Wow. Let me be frank, you need to have the stomach for this installment in this series. It is shorter, thank you baby jesus, but it is torture to the extreme. Yeah. It gets really, really bad. The complicated relationship between Juliette and Dornan rears it’s ugly head. There is so much history and so much pain and anguish all wrapped around these people that have known each other for decades. The evil surrounding Dornan’s twisted heart starts to spill out and Juliette takes the brunt of it. For three months. Three months she endures torture. Something, a girl like myself, could not even fathom. I mean, really, there are people out in this world like Dornan? Who gets off, literally, on torturing girls. Anywho, it gets really, really bad for Juliette before there is a tiny bit of relief at the end. Some of the players are exposed and a ray of hope shines down for what could be. The future for everyone: Juliette, Jase and Elliot has changed yet again. The one question we are left with though is startling in its enormity: Will Jase and Juliette be able to get passed this new hurdle and survive yet again, or will Dornan pull the proverbial bullet and finally end the suffering?
