Synopsis

You do what you have to do to survive. For eighteen-year-old Liam Newman that means living the life of a gay porn star, a job he loathes. He isn’t a star. He’s a prisoner and his warden is the man who saved him from the cold Vancouver streets.

Justin has been Liam’s next-door neighbor for two years and has had a crush on him for just as long. Oblivious to Liam’s porn career, he ‘s content to mind his own business about Liam’s turbulent relationship until the truth stumbles drunk into his apartment one night and he realizes something must be done.

When Liam’s boyfriend turned producer decides rent boys make more money than porn stars Liam’s nightmare takes a horrible turn. Justin must find a way to rescue him before it’s too late.

Review

Saving Liam is a sweet story of one young mans survival.  Liam was on the streets at fifteen years old and picked up by a predator who pretended to love him.  Cord was Liam’s “boyfriend” yet turned the young man into a gay porn star.  Rather than facing life on the streets again, Liam did what Cord asked of him, while blocking what he could out of his mind during the acts.

Justin is the neighbor across the hall from Liam and Cord.  He is a hotel manager, so he is working during the daytime while the debauchery with Liam is going on.  Justin has some what of a friendship with Liam, letting him come over and play video games when he needs to get away from Cord.  Liam doesn’t know it, but Justin has a bit of a crush on him, however he keeps it to himself as not to cause trouble with Cord.

Justin is working and getting back out on the dating scene.  He meets Rich, a pretty nice guy who has some past troubles of his own.  Rich and Justin decide to give it a go and Justin buries his feelings for Liam.  However that all changes after Cord goes way too far with young Liam and he ends up at Justin’s hotel. Justin and Liam form a friendship, something Liam doesn’t understand as he has always been taken advantage of.  Anything Justin did for him, Liam would think he owed Justin.  It takes a lot of patience on Justin’s side to show Liam he is worth more than he thinks.

It was sad how Cord beat Liam down and messed with his young mind as bad as he did.  I liked Justin’s character as the hotel manager and sort of a life manager as well.  As I was reading, I just hoped for something good to come out of this story for Liam as well as Justin.  The book is well written, pretty graphic and very sad.  Especially if you stop to think about this situation really happening and those boys not getting the help that Liam did.

Book Description for
prequel Very Wicked Beginnings:

Girls
say I’m a walking, talking sex god.
Guys call me Hollywood because my life is golden.
It’s
not.

But,
ESPN did rank me as a four star recruit, calling me one of the best defensive
players since Briarcrest Academy opened its esteemed doors. So yeah, with
football and a stellar
GPA, my future
seemed
good.

Then
Dovey Beckham shows up in her short skirts and ballet shoes. Driving me insane.
Making me want to beg for her attention.

But
that wouldn’t happen, because Cuba Hudson didn’t beg for anything.

She
walked around BA like she owned the place, and most days she looked right
through me…the one girl I couldn’t have.

So,
of course, I made it my mission to claim her, to put her notch on my bedpost.

Because
no girl can resist the Heartbreaker
of BA.

But
I never planned on destroying her.

I
never planned on wrecking the one thing that could save me.

Welcome
to Briarcrest Academy, where wicked
love begins…and ends.

Very Wicked Beginnings
Excerpt from Chapter
One
“Two things about me: I play
football—and girls.”
–Cuba
Hudson
I wanted
the gorgeous girl in the window.
More
specifically, I wanted the dark-haired girl dancing inside the Symthe Arts
Building as I stood outside on the twenty yard line at football practice,
fixated on her when I should have been focused on the line of scrimmage. I
adjusted my helmet and squinted through the afternoon Dallas sun.
Did I know her?
Movement
from other players on the field pulled me back. Good thing. As defensive end,
it was my job to put the screws to or sack the quarterback as soon as the ball
snapped. But I was off today. Probably because I knew I had a shit ton of
homework waiting for me at home. With my dream of being a doctor and getting
into a good school, being on top of my game in class was important as well.
Briarcrest Academy was one of the top-rated private schools in the country,
making expectations here high.
Just like
every eighteen-year-old kid out there, I had stresses.
But I did
have more than the average. I had a sick mom.
But those
thoughts faded when I looked back at the window and watched the girl run and
then leap in the air, her body doing some kind of crazy
in-the-air-leg-split-thing. Damn.
She’d gotten at least four feet off the ground.
Then,
after landing on her feet light as a feather, she danced away from my view. I
waited for her to come back, wanting to check out her toned muscles again,
especially her tight ass. And then I randomly wondered if her tits were small.
Weren’t all dancers? Yeah. But still, she looked—
“Pay
attention, Hudson!” Coach Howe yelled at me.
Fuck.
Caught.
I
automatically stiffened and tightened my defensive stance, running my eyes
across the offensive line, waiting for the play. But the quarterback was
pussy-footing around still undecided if they were gonna run or pass. Whatever.
Matt the Quarterback was a complete jack ass. I ate guys like him for lunch
which wasn’t hard when you’re tall and fast like me.
I got
bored.
Out of my
peripheral vision, I caught a flash of pink dashing past the window.
She was
back.
And like
I was addicted to her, my eyes drifted to the building again, one part baffled
by the fascination, the other part wanting to get another glimpse of her long
legs. As I watched, she adjusted her ponytail as she laughed up at her ballet
partner—who was a dude. Crazzzy.
Yeah, you’d think he’d be all feminine and shit, but he wasn’t. Nope. Dude
looked buff, like he could bench press a school bus.
Something
about the girl called to me. Yeah, it was probably that short skirt she wore. I
pictured slipping my hand underneath it to her panties. Her core would be hot,
on fire for me, of course, and I’d ease my finger inside her wet—
Bam!  I took a hard hit from
Tank Carson, an All District offensive guard I routinely ran circles around in
practice. He might be big, but I was quick and smart and had more moves than a
freaking octopus. So the chance to plant my distracted ass on the turf was an
early Christmas present for him. That’s what I get for letting some piece of
ass get in my game, even if it was practice.
And so. My unprepared body flew through the air with 290
pounds of Tank on top of it. My head followed my body and hit the turf, the
contact reverberating inside my helmet and then everything went black…

Have you ever seen an accident? Watched it happen in slow motion and just yelled nooooooooooooo, but knew you could do nothing? That is how I started reading this book … knowing that the volcano of emotions were about to overflow and all I could do was watch. Gorgeous Chaos kept me on the edge of my seat and I honestly could not put it down. I was so desperate to find out Olivia and Alex’s fate. The twists and turns made me gasp with shock. I love how just as I was thinking about a character, blam, the character appeared and had their own closure. The conclusion of this story was amazing. It was exactly what I expected; dirty, delicious, amazing, emotional, frantic, cosmic, the stars aligned with a perfect ending. – Novel Grounds

Gorgeous Chaos is such a wild ride and great ending to this series that had me hooked from the beginning. I went in with such apprehension and nervousness. … This is a great ending to such a thrilling series. Although there is suspense, action and some disturbing scenes, T.K. Leigh also gave us those super sexy moments between Alex and Livvy. His love and devotion to her is quite evident and will make you swoon. – Sticky Reads

I am not ready to let go of these characters or this story. I feel like I need time to grieve the loss of these books now that they are over! This was the best book in this series. T.K.’s writing is eloquent, a breath of fresh air, and at times with hot sex in it! – Everything Marie

Review

I was too excited to receive an early copy of this final book in the Beautiful Mess series by T.K. Leigh. I was much too anxious to see how all of the hidden truths would come out and if things would really blow up! I was not let down. Just as the two books before, Gorgeous Chaos was FULL of DRAMA and twist and turns.

It was refreshing to have this story start with Alexander and Olivia together and happy even if you know eventually shit will hit the fan. This has been building for what feels like forever and I just kept waiting for it to happen and when it did . . . .oh boy!

I don’t want to delve into the plot of this story for fear of giving away one of the many twists and turns I encountered. Instead I will tell you the about some of the different emotions I went through while reading Gorgeous Chaos. I was not expecting some of the surprises T.K. Leigh had in store for me. By now I know that she does not write predictable but still, boy was I thrown for a loop. I think I went through every emotion reading this book. Frustration with Olivia (to be honest I was frustrated with her a lot in this series), happiness when they were together, sorrow, anger, lust and last but not least delight.

I am so happy to witness the conclusion of their story and although I had a tough time with parts, overall I really enjoyed this book and series. T.K is a really good writer who clearly planned out a complex and exciting romantic suspense. Anyone who has read A Beautiful Mess and Tragic Wreck will not want to miss this end to Alexander and Olivia’s story.

Not to stray from the common Author cliché, I loved to read as a child – I actually excelled in reading from a young age. This was definitely to my advantage. In saying that I only enjoyed reading “happily ever after stories.”

As I grew older my pleasures turned to “teen romance stories” with the obvious transition being heavy love stories and of course Jackie Collins’ novels.

Then due to relationship and work commitments my reading all but ceased until my children were at an age where I could steal and hour or two (which then became and hour or four).

A few years ago I discovered the Twilight Saga, this kept my thoroughly entertained for years as I read and re-read numerous times… Enter 50 Shades.

Whilst I was a little fearful to read this erotic tale, something tugged at my inner thoughts and I succumbed, like everyone around me falling for the likes of one Christian Grey.

I continued from that moment reading many many stories and getting involved with Indie Authors from around the globe – something then happened to me. I awoke one Saturday morning with a whole story fixed in my mind. This had happened to me a lot over the years but this story was so clear and concise and I acted on in with the inspiration of the Indie Authors.

That’s when my first novel Majestic Pearls was born – it has grown from there and is a beautifully work in progress. In the interim, I wrote my current story, a novella entitled Que Sera Sera.

When I’m not at my desk, I’m reading – beta reading, or just plain reading. As a full time mother and wife my life is very full. My other passion, other than writing and family is Music … music from yesteryear is my genre.

Review

I have had the Cityscape Series on To Be Read list forever so, I was really looking forward to reading them.  I had them recommended to me and added them to my TBR blindly.  When I knew I was going to be reviewing them for the blog I immediately looked to see what exactly they were about, besides hot sex.  I was immediately turned off after reading the synopsis.  I do not like books about cheating spouses, usually.  😉  These books surprised the hell outta me.  I was literally rooting for some adultery.  I know, I know.  That sounds crazy.

The first Book in this boxset, Come Undone, was my least favorite of the three.  It was mostly background stuff and was basically spent describing Bill and Olivia’s mediocre marriage and un-orgasmic sex life.  Also, in the book she meets David.  The sexual tension was off the charts with these two immediately but not enough happened in Come Undone for me.  It was really well written and the story was there, I just didn’t feel really invested in the characters like I wanted to be.  Just when it started to get good…BAM.  The end.

The second two books in this series, Come Alive and Come Together, were a complete different story.  I freakin loved these books.  They had everything the first one didn’t.  They were angsty and steamy and had me ready to throw my kindle.  Lord mercy, I was captivated.  I picked them up and couldnt put them down.  I was really pulling for David.  He is alpha, sexy, and super possessive.  Well, Olivia, you just pissed me off most of this series but it didn’t matter.  The books were crazy good.  I highly recommend, even if you are put off by the whole cheating thing.

“I tilted my face under the warm spray and leaned back as he wrapped his arms around me.  He gently kissed between my shoulder blades and ran his nose upwards to the base of my skull.

“I missed you,” he murmured into my skin.

Just when I was okay with resigning myself to what we were, to being just fine with the lack of real emotional connection, Cole had to go and do things like that.

He peppered me with soft kisses, hugging me tightly.

“I really love you being here when I wake up.  I wish you could be here every morning.” I could feel him smiling against my back and I wanted to bash his head in.

He really needed to shut the hell up.

Emo mushy crap was taking things too far.  I didn’t need to engage my heart in this already sticky situation.

But this was Cole.  He could be this amazing, beautiful person when he wanted to be. In the aftermath of sex he said things that sent me reeling.  And I couldn’t help but allow my mind to wander to possibilities.

I hated him for it.

“You smell and taste unbelievable.  There needs to be an AA program for this.  Vivian Anonymous.  Sign me up because I can’t get enough of touching you.” Cole ran his tongue along my wet skin and I couldn’t help but moan.

“Stay with me another night.  Please,” he begged.

I wanted to give in.  God, did I want to. When he was like this it was hard to deny him anything.  But I couldn’t pretend that what we had was something else.  That the two of us were ever destined for more than a temporary physical relationship.

If I started thinking like that, I was setting myself up for a hell of a fall.  And I wasn’t sure I’d survive the impact.

Cole was an egotistical manwhore.  That was what I needed to remember right now.  If I didn’t stay, he’d have someone else ready and willing to take my place.

He may ask me to stay but he’d be just fine if I didn’t.  Our hearts were not involved here.

I snorted inelegantly.  “What would all the groupies say if I was here again tonight?  I don’t want to cramp your style,” I scoffed, leaning my head back on his shoulder.

Cole’s hands came up to cup my breasts, kneading and rubbing in a way that made me weak in the knees.  He played my body against me each and every time.

“Why do you have to say stuff like that, Viv?  You know when you’re around, there’s no one else. I don’t want anyone but you,” he admonished, his teeth scraping along the side of my neck, making me shiver, despite the warmth of the shower.”

So he is shocked to find himself drawn to the snarky girl with a chip on her shoulder. She pisses him off and puts him down. He knows she’s nothing more than a self-entitled college brat who thinks she’s better than the townie boy without a future.

Alcohol and a hefty dose of lust leads to a night both Riley and Garrett immediately regret. Her embarrassment, his pride and the weight of rumors and misconceptions convince Riley and Garrett that their one-time indiscretion will never be repeated. Particularly when their harshest critics are each other.

But how do you reconcile a head that wants to let go with a heart that keeps holding on?

And what happens when your biggest regret begins to seem almost perfect?

Synopsis

Alyssa Boyd had big plans. Big plans that included getting the hell out of the little town she’d grown up in with her two best friends. When she decided it was time to let one of them know her true feelings for him; a change of plans resulted in a tragic turn of events. Now, Alyssa is left alone to find her way out of the darkness that an untimely death has left in its wake.

Jesse Vaughn was never good at letting people in. He’d learned a long time ago that it’s easier that way because people leave, or, unfortunately, die. The one person he wanted to let in doesn’t want him anymore. The only problem is he can’t stop thinking about her. Jesse returns to the childhood home he left behind with one goal in mind… to convince her that they should be together.

When Jesse finds Alyssa she’s not the same girl he left behind. She’s wild, reckless and hell-bent on not giving Jesse a second chance. Lucky for Jesse, his stubborn streak has always been a mile-wide and he’s not about to give up on her.

When your life has been shattered can you really pick up all the pieces and move on?

Review

Let me start out by saying that I tend to avoid YA or NA. I usually find younger characters difficult to relate too and therefore hard to make a connection with. That was not the case with this book. The characters in “Shattered”, although fresh out of high school, were great and I felt invested right away.Everything in Alyssa’s life changed when one of her best friends Garrett died in a tragic accident. After his death, her other best friend Jesse left town without even saying goodbye. Feeling completely broken and abandoned, Alyssa fell into a deep depression. She spent the next nine months walking around in a complete fog.pizap.com10.93382484093308451398885569639

I really liked Alyssa. She has been through a lot and even though she is not exactly handling things well I enjoyed her candidness and strength.  Jesse is devastated when Garrett dies. Already having a problem letting people in and unsure of what to do with all these emotions, he pushes Alyssa away. Feeling the need to get away from it all he packs up and heads to Florida to work for his uncle.

Jesse is a great hero. He’s a perfect mini eighteen year old alpha, dark and brooding with a rough upbringing and at the same time sweet and totally head over heels for his girl.  Through the use of many flashbacks we get to look back and see how these three became the “Terrific Trio” and you really get to know Garrett. We also get to see the blossoming relationship between Alyssa and Jesse before it all fell apart. Meanwhile in the present, Jesse is back and determined to win Alyssa’s heart. This feat may prove to be easier said than done!   This was a very emotional and sweet love story with just the right amount of angst and heartbreak. “Shattered” was a little less steamy than the books I typically read but it had a great ending that wrapped everything up perfectly. If you are a fan of YA and NA I would definitely recommend this book.

Drake Restrained

Drake Morgan, MD, Neurosurgeon, bass player, philanthropist – Dominant.

He doesn’t do girlfriends, he doesn’t do sleepovers, and he certainly doesn’t do breakfast in bed the morning after. He has his surgical slate at New York Presbyterian, he has a charitable foundation providing surgical tools to hospitals in Africa, he has his Brit Invasion cover band, Mersey, and he has his secret life as a Dominant in Manhattan’s BDSM community.

Into bondage, D/s and the occasional dungeon scene, Drake keeps every part of his life separate, the divisions between them neat and tidy. His weeks are filled with surgeries, music and D/s sex, and none of the well-planned and scheduled parts of his life intersect.

That is until Kate McDermott crosses his path and screws everything up.

Now, nothing is neat and tidy anymore, for Drake is smitten and things are going to get messy…

Drake Restrained is a novella in the Unrestrained Series, which explores the early days of the relationship between Drake and Kate from Drake’s point of view.

I headed to the washroom before
leaving, making a quick pit stop, and on the way out, bumped into the pretty
brunette. She pushed the door open to the woman’s washroom and knocked into me.
I had to grab her to keep her from falling, for she was wearing ridiculously
high leather heels and hadn’t seemed to have mastered them.

Whoa,” I said, and caught
her by the arms, pulling her against my body.

“Steady…”

“Oh, so sorry,” she said and grabbed
onto my shoulders. She glanced up shyly, her cheeks reddening. “I’m not really
used to these.”

In that moment, I was struck by the warmth
of her body, the scent from her hair, and the soft curve of her breasts pressed
against my chest.

She was delicious.

I was probably half a foot taller
than her even in her heels, and from my vantage point, I was able to peek down
her dress and see the swell of her breasts pushed together by the tight bodice.

Now, I had admittedly had sex with a
lot of women in my time. Before I was married, I played around a lot, trying to
figure out what sex was all about and what I liked and needed. I was married
for five years and had a lot of sex, especially in the first few years we were
together. Since I divorced, I had quite a few submissives, both as regular play partners
and one-offs I topped at dungeon parties.

I wasn’t an inexperienced teenager,
but the way my body responded to her, you would have thought I hadn’t had sex
for months instead of a week and a half.
In that second or two I had her in
my arms, I imagined her naked, her body pressed against mine, her lips on my
skin.

God… She was lovely.

She smelled like shampoo and citrus.
I wanted to bury my face in her groin and inhale deeply.

I finally pulled myself together
enough to respond. “Trying to defy the laws of physics?” I said and smiled as I
helped steady her. I glanced down at her shoes once more. “Nice shoes though. Love the
leather straps…”

I would love to see her naked, my
leather straps binding her body, looping around her tiny waist and over her
hips, down between her thighs, splitting her labia…

“Thank you,” she said, straightening
up with my help.

At that moment, I wished she were a
submissive. She had creamy white skin, and looked to be of Celtic background with
green eyes and long golden brown hair. Her shyness suggested she might incline
towards submission, especially with someone older, but there was no way of
knowing from such a momentary meeting. It was wishful thinking on my part.

She smiled briefly and then turned
back to the bar as if she couldn’t wait to get away from me.

Despite my strong response to her, I
knew she was right to do so for in that moment, I wanted her the way a wolf
wants a doe, the need to possess her completely welling up inside of me more
powerfully than it had in a long time.

Run away, little girl. You don’t
belong with someone like me.
