Kiss And Don’t Tell by Meghan Quinn Excerpt Reveal

KISS AND DON’T TELL, a steamy and unapologetically witty new hockey romance from USA Today Bestselling Author, Meghan Quinn, releases on September 21st, and I’m excited to share an exclusive excerpt with you today!

As long as we kiss and don’t tell, maybe everything will be okay…

Five hockey players, a cabin in the woods . . . and little old me, Winnie Berlin.

Sounds like the start of a fantasy, right? But it’s not. It’s my reality.

It all started when I got lost in the middle of the Canadian Rockies. A wicked thunderstorm sent my car mud sliding into a ditch and for a girl whose survival skills involve finding the nearest Starbucks, I was in deep trouble.

Forced to abandon my car in search of help, I stumbled upon a cabin in the middle of nowhere. Soaking wet, irritated, and in desperate need of a hot shower, I knocked on the door for help only to be greeted by five boisterous, burly, and insanely attractive men.

Not just men.

Professional hockey players.

I hit the motherload of fantasies, right? Wrong.

Because as it turns out, one of them is my ex-boyfriend’s half-brother. And when I end up crashing in their spare bedroom for the night, things take a very unexpected turn.

I’m not sure any amount of survival skills can protect my heart from Vancouver Agitators star goalie, Pacey Lawes. But as long as we kiss and don’t tell, maybe everything will be okay . . .

EXCERPT:

I can’t seem to keep my hands off her. No matter what I try, I’m drawn to her. My hands need to stroke her. I need that connection.

And while we were in the gym, there was a hell of a lot more I wanted to do with her, and it didn’t involve lifting weights. I wanted to lie down across the bench and pin her there while I found out what her lips tasted like. Push her up against the mirror and watch her face as I slowly peeled down her bike shorts to expose that beautiful ass of hers. I wanted to make her know what it feels like to be with a real man. A man who would take care of her.

My will is slipping with her. I can feel it, especially the frustration I felt when she suggested asking one of the other guys to take her into town.

Fuck that.

I would’ve been pissed.

She thinks she’s taking up too much of my time, when really, I want more of hers. And I want to be the one who shows her the town of Banff. I want to see her face light up when she takes in the picturesque views. Not Eli . . . because I know that’s who would probably take her if she asked.

Dressed in a pair of navy-blue chino shorts and a simple white T-shirt, I head down the hallway, slipping past her door and into the main living space. The boys are gathered at the table, plates of eggs in front of them, Stephan at the helm in the kitchen.

The chatter at the table slowly dies out as I walk by them, and I know I’m about to get shit because normally I wouldn’t be dressed like this. If Winnie weren’t here, we’d all be in a pair of athletic shorts and no shirt, but that’s not the case.

EXCERPT:

I clench my phone and let out a loud sigh. I don’t want to read anything more about Saint’s wild night, which allegedly ended in a threesome.

A threesome? Like, who even is this guy?

The Saint I’m falling for buys me prenatal vitamins and takes me to the farmers’ market. He’s flirty, sure, but he’s been as wholesome as they come. A complete gentleman. He makes sure I’m fed and rubs my sore feet. He texts me for no reason, just to check on me.

Unless I’ve been duped, this isn’t the man the world knows. They know the party boy who goes clubbing on a random weeknight and gets caught in compromising photos with women of every variety.

My heart throbs painfully and I draw in a slow breath.

I hate this, and I especially hate my brother being right about it. I hate that even if Saint has had some sudden desire to clean up his act, I’ll never be enough for him. I’m not kinky or exciting or into threesomes. I’m about to be a mom. I like sex, of course, but it’s all been fairly vanilla, and I’m certainly not a party girl.

Maybe that would have been fun when I was younger, but now I never will be. I’m entering a new season of my life, which includes responsibility and stability and making good decisions for my future. My future doesn’t include hockey playboys. It can’t.

I touch a hand to my belly, feeling a lump form in my throat as a knock sounds on my door. Walker has plans, so it can’t be him, which leaves only one person. Saint.

Great. I guess I have to deal with this now.

I answer the door and let Saint inside. But he must sense my energy, because he lingers beside me in the entryway.

“What’s wrong?”

I chew on my lip, looking for the right words to say. I wish I’d had time to rehearse them, to practice what I should say. Instead, it’s like ripping off a Band-Aid.

“I’m sorry. I can’t do this anymore.” I gesture between us.

“Why? What happened?”

“This.” I hand him my phone, which is still pulled up to the article.

He takes a quick glance, and his expression sours. “So, that’s it then? You catch wind of my past, cast your judgment, and just bail?”

Suddenly uncomfortable, I shift from one sore foot to the other. “What? No, I . . .”

Saint has never once judged me or looked down on my past. And, hello, I clearly have one, including a baby daddy. My life was a little turbulent before Saint came into it.

“I’m not judging you,” I say to clarify. “More like establishing some boundaries.”

Saint raises his eyebrows. “Boundaries?”

I nod. “I’ve never had a threesome in my life, and I probably never will.”

His lips tilt up. “And that’s what you think I want because—”

“Because, um, because of that.” I glare at the phone still in his hands.

“I’ve always been a try anything once kind of guy, Kin. Believe me, one woman is all I need.”

Tilting my head, I weigh his words. I wish I could believe him, but part of me isn’t sure. I don’t know what to think anymore.

Saint hands me back my phone, then places a carton of shiny plums in my other hand. “I actually came by to bring you these. Just . . . let me know if you need anything.”

My chest squeezes, and I swallow a lump in my throat. “Okay.”

He turns to leave, and when the door closes behind him, I feel like curling into a ball and crying, and I don’t even know why. Saint and I are friends, and I just pushed him away because of my own fears and insecurities.

Sometimes, I really hate these overactive pregnancy hormones. I have no idea if I made the right decision by confronting him, or if I just blew up the one good thing in my life.

REVIEW:

If you’ve read any of the other books in Kendall Ryan’s Looking to Score series, you’ve met Price St. James, or Saint, the hero in The Rebound. He’s a charming, bad boy hockey player on the verge of spiraling out of control. Kinley, his new neighbor and his teammate’s sister, is very pregnant, new to the building, and the only person who doesn’t seem to know a thing about him or his wild ways.

Saint is spending his off season laying low after his last scandal when he meets Kinley. He’s immediately drawn to her, and he’s the first friend she makes when she moves to town. Their slow burn, friends-to-lovers romance was EVERYTHING. It was so sweet, so romantic and full of hope and heat and heart. I loved them so much. They had some obstacles to overcome, namely Kinley’s brother, but Saint stood firm, stayed true and gave him time to come around.

A sexy, tender, emotional love story, I couldn’t read The Rebound fast enough.  I loved Saint and Kinley, and I was so happy to see some of my favorite side characters from other books make appearances. Kendall Ryan has found another niche in hockey romances—she’s put out some truly fantastic ones, and this book is another one of them. The Rebound by Kendall Ryan gets 4.5 smooches from me!

Chasing Serenity by Kristen Ashley Blog Tour with Excerpt

CHASING SERENITY, a new sexy, swoony opposites-attract romance from New York Times Bestselling Author, Kristen Ashley, is available now! Scroll down for an excerpt!

She’s high heels, he’s hiking boots . . . and they’re perfect together.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Ashley brings a new novel in her River Rain series…

From a very young age, Chloe Pierce was trained to look after the ones she loved.

And she was trained by the best.

But when the man who looked after her was no longer there, Chloe is cast adrift—just as the very foundation of her life crumbled to pieces.

Then she runs into tall, lanky, unpretentious Judge Oakley, her exact opposite. She shops. He hikes. She drinks pink ladies. He drinks beer. She’s a city girl. He’s a mountain guy.

Obviously, this means they have a blowout fight upon meeting. Their second encounter doesn’t go a lot better.

Judge is loving the challenge. Chloe is everything he doesn’t want in a woman, but he can’t stop finding ways to spend time with her. He knows she’s dealing with loss and change.

He just doesn’t know how deep that goes. Or how ingrained it is for Chloe to care for those who have a place in her heart, how hard it will be to trust anyone to look after her…

And how much harder it is when it’s his turn.

EXCERPT:

Considering the fact he’d brought in a coffee for his buddy, Rix, who managed the store, Judge was down on the floor where Rix’s office was, not on the top floor where his was, so he saw her when she walked into the shoe section.

He’d dated Meg.

And before Meg, there was Jess.

And before Jess, there was Kimberly.

They all had different color hair, Meg and Jess were tall, Kim was not.

But even so, Judge had a type.

He knew it.

And that woman who’d strolled up to the shoe displays?

She was his type.

Multiplied by a thousand.

Christ, she was beautiful.

And bad news.

He could tell that last by the outfit, including her ridiculous, high-heeled booties.

He’d worked at River Rain Outdoor stores for nine years—starting as a sales associate when he was still going to college and advancing to director of the Kids and Trails program.

In all that time, he didn’t think he’d ever seen a woman walk into any of their stores wearing shoes like hers.

And when he came down again a half an hour later to hit Rix’s office to make some copies because the copier in the corporate offices at the top level was busted, he noticed she was still there.

He also noticed he had further evidence she was bad news.

That evidence?

The sheer number of boxes of boots that she was trying on scattered around her.

She looked like she’d not set foot on a hiking trail in her life.

And she looked like she was there because she’d already trolled through all the boutiques around the square, but this hadn’t assuaged her shopping fix, because nothing really did.

Therefore, there was a possibility, after making a member of staff bring her fifteen pairs of shoes, she’d walk out not buying anything.

She’d do this not thinking a thing of it.

However, he noted some of the boots she was trying on were riding boots, and Judge could see that round ass of hers in the saddle on top of a horse.

Wearing a riding habit.

Even if she was trouble, and he had not the slightest interest (or he was telling himself that), he couldn’t keep his eyes off her.

Because he was a moron.

That said, she caught his gaze every time.

So he was looking.

But so was she.

His instincts proved true when he came down for the third time with more to copy, and he again walked through the shoe section to get to the office in the back. Doing this close to where she was seated, still trying on boots, because, yes, in the fifteen minutes between then and now, he had not stopped being a moron.

And again, she caught his gaze.

He had no clue why, but as her gorgeous hickory brown eyes hit his, he muttered, “Nice booties.”

Her back shot straight, and she demanded, “What did you just say?”

REVIEW:

As a diehard, longtime, Kristen Ashley fan, I’m always excited for a new book from her, and I was really looking forward to Chasing Serenity after reading After the Climb. KA’s books are magic for me—the kinds of stories I can just sink right into. She builds these amazing worlds by richly developing the characters and paying careful attention to the details. It comes together into these wonderful stories that are easy for the reader to visualize, connect with and get lost in.

I loved everything about Chloe and Judge’s story. KA knows banter, and she does bickering, bantering couples brilliantly. This couple’s back and forth repartee was perfectly witty, snappy and smart—its own special brand of foreplay. Their chemistry sizzled, and the sparks were just flying whenever they were together. Chloe was a very independent heroine, and she’s been through some things, but she’s managed to hang on to her sass. Judge was a good man, and I loved his determination when it came to Chloe.

Chasing Serenity was a slow building opposites-attract love story, but boy, once that fire got going, it roared. KA tackled some tough subjects in this book with her usual grace, wisdom and care, and it made for a deeply engrossing story. Heart-tugging, heart-racing and heat filled, Chasing Serenity was a riot of emotions fueled by a firestorm of passion. I absolutely devoured this story, and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series. Five smooches from me for Chasing Serenity by Kristen Ashley.

Hard to Love by K. Bromberg Review

5 SMOOCHES!

* * * * * * * * * *

SYNOPSIS:

New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, is back with a heartfelt, enemies to lovers romance and a hero who redeems himself to steal your heart . . .

He was the one-night stand that didn’t exactly go as planned. Now he’s standing before me as if he’s never seen me naked, telling my manager he’ll take the job. Reluctantly.

Finn Sanderson.

Sports agent extraordinaire. Handsome as hell. The man who just signed on to control my every move.

Sure, I’m to blame for my recent bad press, but when your whole life has been so regimented, isn’t it normal to want to live it up a little?

But when the partying stops and the grief I’m running from has nowhere else to hide, reality sets in. Turns out, Finn’s the only person I have left to help pick up the pieces. The only person to call.

Staying with him is a temporary thing. But when our fighting turns into laughter and our friendship turns into something more, will I fight for a man who swears he’s hard to love? Or is it wiser to walk away? To follow the plan?

* * *

Offering to help with a client is a way to repay a long overdue IOU to my mentor. Little did I know she was the woman who left my hotel room at four in the morning.

Stevie Lancaster.

Top-seeded US tennis player. Good girl gone bad. The woman currently about to throw her career away. And now my problem.

The compensation to “babysit” her is great, but she isn’t worth my trouble.

But when her world falls apart and she has no one else to turn to, I try to be a good guy by gathering her up and hiding her from the media’s eye.

Now she’s in my house, in my space, and even though I’m enjoying the side benefits of this unexpected arrangement, surely she’s better to leave when the time comes and follow her destiny. Because I’m not the man she needs. Not the man she could love. Right?

REVIEW:

Kristy Bromberg gave her readers some truly memorable, hard won love stories in the Play Hard series of sports romances. The first four books were centered around four sports agent sisters, taking readers into the worlds of professional hockey, soccer, football and baseball. Throughout the series, one side villainous character, Finn Sanderson, kept appearing. He was the kind of character readers love to loathe. At the conclusion of the series, Bromberg announced a surprise fifth book—the redemption of Finn. With four stories to develop some serious animosity towards Finn, I went into this book not liking him all that much – not even wanting to like him. As was the way with the rest of this series, I was drawn right in from the prologue, and it was yet another story I just didn’t want to stop reading.

The heroine, Stevie Lancaster, is a pro-tennis player, and she’s gone a bit off the rails. Finn is hired to reign her in and get her back on track—and she’s not exactly thrilled about it. The banter back and forth between them rivaled the volleys Stevie was known to lob over the net. Witty and sharp, their repartee was its own brand of foreplay. This story took me by surprise in a lot of ways, especially given the fact that I went into it with all kinds of preconceived notions about Finn. I really, really didn’t want to like him. I really didn’t. But that guy, ugh, he got to me, and by the end of this book, I was all in and 100% Team Finn.

A slow burn build to scorching hot, Finn and Stevie’s enemies-to-lovers romance was emotional, engaging and utterly addictive. Full of heart-tugging feels and a firestorm of passion, I simply did not want to put it down. I loved every single word of Hard to Love, and the redemption of Finn Sanderson was a story that took me by surprise at every turn. I went into this book practically hating the hero, but came out the other side adoring him. Five stars from me for Hard to Love by K. Bromberg!

Jerk It by Lani Lynn Vale Release Blitz

JERK IT, a new second-chance romance from Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling Author, Lani Lynn Vale, is available now!

By the time that Mavis makes her way back into Murphy’s heart, it breaks. And not in a rhetorical way. In the ‘he only has days to live’ kind of way…

Mavis always assumed that she would be in a hospital with the good drugs when her time came. Not in the middle of the road, with no one around but the damn town mechanic that hated her.

But there she was, having a rock star’s baby, with no one to rely on but the one that let it be known around every turn that she was a horrible person.

From the time that she met Murphy and became best friends with him at the age of eight, she knew he was destined for greatness.

But then her grandmother fired Murphy’s mom, forcing them to live on the streets, and making Murphy to realize that maybe they weren’t best friends after all.

Murphy loved Mavis.

At least, he had when he was younger, before she betrayed him.

From that moment forward, Murphy goes out of his way to stay the hell away from her, and always makes sure to never get too close. Even though everything inside of him screams to make contact.

When he moves back to town after being gone for five years, he tries his best to stay away.

But there she is at his CrossFit gym. Then having a baby on the side of the road. Oh, and breaking him a little more with each step she takes away.

Eventually, they find their way back to each other. The only problem is, by the time that Mavis makes her way back into his heart, it breaks. And not in a rhetorical way. In the ‘he only has days to live’ kind of way.

Chasing Serenity by Kristen Ashley Release Blitz

CHASING SERENITY, a new sexy, swoony opposites-attract romance from New York Times Bestselling Author, Kristen Ashley, is available now!
