Synopsis
He’s a walking contradiction…
Cam Strickland, one of the four owners of Pier 70 Marina, has earned the nickname his friends gave him years ago. Reckless. Sure. By definition. When it comes to fun, Cam hasn’t yet met a challenge he wouldn’t accept. In other areas, he’s likely far too cautious for his own good.
He’s his complete opposite…
Gannon Burgess, CEO of Burgess Entertainment, one of the top video game producers in the world, finds himself smack in the middle of the last place he would ever expect to be. But Gannon only thinks he is out of his element standing in the small marina office. Then… he meets Cam.
Rumor is opposites attract.
Sparks fly when this sexy, tattooed bad boy comes face to face with this buttoned-up gamer in glasses.
Can Cam and Gannon push one another out of their comfort zones? Or — thanks to the events that have shaped their lives — will the time they spend together prove to be just another reckless adventure? This one involving their hearts.
Gay Romance
Review
No one can write M/M erotic fiction like Nicole Edwards. Her use of creative coarse language in sex scenes raises the bar from being simply erotic, to something more mesmerising and scintillating, the sexual tension that is paramount to building the stifling atmosphere of pheromones, is evident from the very first meeting between our two heroes, permeating the pages with lust and a beautiful and unpredictable journey, Nicole is able to take us on through her tale with complicated and lovable characters-the girl just has a knack for what constitutes as brilliant storytelling.
Reckless aka a super sexy and tattooed, thrill seeking Cam, spends his days at Pier 70 where he runs a boat shop with several of his friends, an eclectic mix of the hottest and most diverse gay men to ever grace my Kindle screen. It’s only when his company organises a fun filled staff day trip out on the water using Cam’s company, that charmingly geeky and wickedly studly Gannon crosses paths with the one man who is guaranteed to get his blood pumping (mostly below the waistline) and and take him out of his comfort zone.
Although there isn’t as much drama and suspense and action going on in Reckless, unlike a lot of Nicole’s other books, this one still managed to capture my heart and interest. Reckless is a character driven novel, relying heavily on Cam, Gannon and the Pier 70 crew to keep us hooked. Cam is delightful; he’s a little unsure in romance but give him water or a dangerous sport and he’s your man, Gannon however is his opposite-serious most of the time, hates water and likes to keep an orderly structured life, so it isn’t any wonder that when the two collide their passion is raw and real and so too are their fears and doubts.
‘The attractive tattooed bad boy had snagged Gannon’s attention for sure. It had been a long damn time since he’d had to play the cat-and-mouse game, and he had to admit, it was better than he’s remembered. Especially with Cam.’
It was a great book and had a fair amount of tension and a good dose of humour from a terrific set of supporting characters but it is the falling in love and battling back the fears that really made Cam and Gannon a sparkling set of heroes. I can’t wait to see which set of Pier boys get their story next.
