Bro Code by Kendall Ryan Review

4.5 SMOOCHES!

SYNOPSIS:

There’s pretty much only one rule when you’re a guy.

Don’t be a douche.

Turns out, the fastest way to break that rule is to fall for your best friend’s sister.

Ava’s brilliant, sharp-tongued, gorgeous, and five years younger than me.

She’s the sexual equivalent of running with scissors. In a word, she’s dangerous. And completely off-limits.

Falling for her could ruin everything.

Yet I can’t seem to stop, even when her company is threatened by a lawsuit, and my promotion hinges on representing the opposing client—and winning.

I can’t see a way out of this mess that doesn’t end in a broken friendship, a broken heart, or a ruined career.

I may have broken the bro code when I fell for Ava. But do I have the balls to handle what comes next?

REVIEW:

I adore written romantic comedies, and Kendall Ryan has written some fantastic ones. I especially love the whole brother’s best friend/best friend’s sister trope, and Bro Code was an absolute pleasure to read. Light and easy humor blended with a steamy, slightly taboo romance and just enough conflict made this a story that I didn’t want to put down.

I really loved this pairing. Ava was focused, driven and loyal, and she was dedicated to saving her father’s failing business in the wake of his retirement. Barrett was an ambitious, successful attorney with his eyes on one prize—making partner at the Chicago law firm. Ava has harbored what she assumed was an unrequited crush on Barrett, her older brother, Nick’s, best friend, but it turned out that it wasn’t quite as one-sided as she thought. An honorary member of Ava and Nick’s family, Barrett spent most of his childhood and teen years at their house. He’s been fighting his own feelings for Ava because of his friendship with Nick and the unwritten rules of the bro code—meaning exes and sisters are off limits.

A long weekend in the close quarters of her childhood home celebrating her father’s retirement, Ava and Barrett wind up spending more time alone together than ever before. The chemistry between them sizzled and eventually became too much to ignore. If Nick and his reaction to a relationship between his best friend and his little sister wasn’t enough of an obstacle between them, another one is thrown into the mix that has the potential to completely derail everything they’ve both worked for. I loved this part of their story, and I was on the edge of my seat in a will-he-or-won’t-he ball of emotion.

Kendall Ryan kept me swooning with this sweet and sexy romance! Filled with feels, flirty banter and a fiery, forbidden romance, I devoured Bro Code with a smile on my face. Kendall Ryan’s Bro Code gets 4.5 smooches from me!
