REVIEW:

I’ve read quite of few of Lila Monroe’s romantic comedies, and I’ve enjoyed every single one of them. She perfectly balances the heat in her stories with her wicked sense of humor and keeps her plots entertaining without heavy angst or drama to consistently produce light-hearted, easy-reading romances. My favorite thing about Monroe’s writing style is how she always manages to pull me right into the story with her vivid descriptions and interesting details. She blends those elements into imaginative storylines, peppered with fun side characters, to yield sexy romcoms that never fail to give me an entertaining reading experience.

Man Candy is the fourth book in her Billionaire Bachelors series, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. The blurb piqued my interest because the premise was a bit different than the other books in the series. Monroe definitely has a lot of fun with the fake fiancée/fiancé trope, and while that’s been evident throughout the series, it’s even more so here. Man Candy, like all the books in the series, is a standalone, and it’s not necessary to read the others to enjoy this one.

Nick Cameron is private investigator, and he needs a fiancée for an undercover assignment. Alice is the office manager at The Agency, a firm specializing in providing high-end dates for hire to extremely wealthy patrons in need. Alice, with her quietly sexy librarian vibe, was so much more than Nick anticipated, and she surprised him at every turn. I loved how she kept him on his toes. Nick was whip smart and irresistibly sexy. Their chemistry was white-hot, and while she desperately tried to maintain her professionalism, it was impossible.

Full of humor and heat, Man Candy by Lila Monroe was an entertaining, amusing, pleasure to read, and it gets 4.5 smooches from me!
