Synopsis

Miss Congeniality doesn’t curse. Miss Congeniality doesn’t have tattoos. Miss Congeniality doesn’t drink shots. Miss Congeniality doesn’t ride motorcycles….Or does she?

When America’s sweetheart…
Brea Richards is America’s sweetheart. Dubbed Miss Congeniality by the media, Brea has spent years honing her current reputation. And being one of the leading stars of a prime time television show…priceless. It’s a long way from her humble beginnings, but that’s her secret to keep. Or at least that’s what she believes until she gets the phone call.

Meets America’s bad boy…
Lance Holder is America’s bad boy, the guy they love to hate. He lives life the way he wants, and makes no apologies, regardless of what anyone thinks. All everyone sees is the tattooed, motorcycle riding, reckless movie star, preventing anyone from looking beneath the surface. And that’s just fine with Lance. Until his new gig puts him right in the path of Brea.

Will either one escape unscathed?
Lance is the newbie on Brea’s show, and everyone is watching to see if America’s bad boy will influence Miss Congeniality. They don’t know Brea’s worst influences happened long before Lance entered the picture. And Lance seems to be one of the only ones to see beyond her current façade. Maybe America’s bad boy is just what America’s sweetheart needs…

Review

This was my first movie-star novel and it was so much more than I expected. I expected over the top luxury and characters you couldn’t relate to but that is not what this author delivered! The characters were developed in a way that you could picture yourself being on set, dealing with the difficulties they all had. The story begins with the sad beginning life of a young girl and her brother struggling through her horrendous family life and her journey to escape the past.

And just as she is perfectly happy with her sweet and slightly boring existence in comes America’s bad boy as her new leading man on the show and the beginning of her frustrations.

The banter between our leading characters is funny and sweet and despite all their arguing they really are America’s couple! The supporting characters in the book provide even more comic relief as Brea’s best friends and costars assist in causing media headaches and also love and friendship. Also Lance’s mom is a hoot and I hope to see her again in the future!! Brea’s struggles with her family are sobering but doesn’t bring down the lightheartedness of it at all. This book is perfect for anyone that loves a happy ending with bumps in the road and giggles along the way! I give it 4.5 smooches!!!
