Mister Tonight by Kendall Ryan Review

4.5 SMOOCHES!

SYNOPSIS:

From New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan comes a standalone romance about a swoony single dad and the new neighbor he falls for.

Last night was the most embarrassing night of my life.

I was that girl.

You know, the highly intoxicated chick celebrating her thirtieth birthday with her two best friends—who are happily married. And the more I drank, the more I wanted to do something reckless to celebrate.

By reckless, I mean the sexy and alluring man dressed in a business suit standing near the bar. You know his type—tall, dark, handsome. I was sure he was out of my league, but I’d had just enough alcohol that things like that no longer seemed to matter. I’m not fat, mind you, but you can tell I like french fries, so there’s that.

He took me home, and I enjoyed the hottest birthday sex of my life. Well, until it came to a screeching and rather unwelcome halt.

There’s nothing quite like being interrupted mid-ride with a little voice asking, “What are you doing to my daddy?”

Just kill me now . . . or so I thought.

Come to find out, the man I rode like a bull at the rodeo is my new landlord.

REVIEW:

Single dad romances are just so addictive for me – I absolutely love them – and Kendall Ryan did the trope proud with Mister Tonight. I love Ryan’s writing, especially her light-hearted, easy-reading contemporaries, something she’s given her readers this year in spades.

Ryan creates romcom magic in the pairing of independent, confident, commitment-phobe Kate who wasn’t looking for more than a Mister Tonight with the swoon-worthy, sexy single dad Hunter who wanted to be someone’s Mister Right. An instantaneous, eyes-meeting-across-a-crowded-bar, you-know-where-this-is-going kind of connection, smoldering sexual chemistry and the sweet relationship build-up all blend together to make this a couple I was rooting for from page one. Hunter’s way too smart four-year-old daughter was a challenge that I loved watching Kate best, and the awkward moments and witty banter between Kate and Hunter kept me amused and looking for more.

Mister Tonight was the kind of fun-to-read romcom that I love from Kendall Ryan. Full of humor, heat and heart, this was an charmingly sweet, irresistibly entertaining romance that I happily devoured in one sitting. Kendall Ryan’s Mister Tonight gets 4.5 smooches from me!
