His brown eyes were warm, and his dark hair was short but done
in a messy way. I had never been with a bad boy. Normally, I always went for
the safe guy. However, my last safe guy had turned out to be a power-seeking
asshole.
 
From the moment I had seen Adam at the bar, a primal instinct in
me had called out, I want to have sex with him.

Review

Loving Eden is a beautiful short love story between Eden and Grey.
A new college gradate Eden, at 22, embarks on a road trip for love, South Padre to be exact. She had met Grey on her Spring Break and they began a relationship. Grey Lachlan inherited the Palm Palace and its a diamond in the rough, but with the help of Eden it can become the prime vacation destination. Turmoil hits the beach front spot. And a jealous Grey can’t seem to feel threatened. This makes for a rocky spot for their relationship. Will these two be able to handle the what the tide brings in?
I enjoyed reading this short story about love and paradise. Characters were written well and the writing style was good. It is my understanding that this is part of a series. And I would have probably cared for the additional characters more, had I had the background. But all in all I enjoyed this read. 3.5 smooches for Loving Eden by T.A. Foster

Review

The Salvation of Daniel is the second book in The Blue Butterfly Series and you should definitely read it after reading The Decimation of Mae or you are going to be very very confused!  The Salvation of Daniel starts off where The Decimation of Mae ends.  Daniel is reformed somewhat and taking care of his and Mae’s sweet baby girl.

“Love you to the moon,” 

They are pretty happy together and have been seemingly left alone for the past couple of years but things are about to get pretty sticky for them.

I wasn’t sure I was still breathing.  I’d gone mad.  My head was shaking, my mouth wide open as I started at the reflection.  “Lamb.”

This is where things pretty much hit the fan and the book becomes ridiculously action packed and very very sexy!  Whoa!

As usual the writing is superb and poetic.  I really do love Dawn’s style.  It is dark and has an old school classic feel to it.  These books are definitely not for the faint of heart.  Dawn to continues to break my heart with each story but I just have to keep reading because they are amazing stories with so much grit and fire to them.  Daniel broke me this go around.  I pretty much hated him in The Decimation of Mae but I grew to love him this time.  I think Dawn must hate my happiness because while this book has a Happily Ever After, it wasn’t what I would have hoped for.  😉

“I was her decimation.  She is my salvation.” 

Just beware going in that this book is going to rock your world.  You won’t know what to expect and Dawn does a fabulous job of keeping her readers on their toes!  Loved it and hated it but mostly loved to hate it.

“Are you gonna sit down or not?” he asked.

“I’m really uncomfortable with”—I gestured toward the woman—“this.” “That’s not exactly my problem,” he said, dropping a hand to rest on her head. “But if it’s an issue, you can take her place.”

“No,” I said quickly.

“Then sit the fuck down and tell me why you’re here.”

His voice tightened, and I realized he was running out of patience. Fair enough—he obviously had other things on his  .  .  . ahem . . . mind. I carefully perched on the edge of the couch, facing the door. This was actually better, I realized. I didn’t have to look at him now. Although I could feel the woman’s movements through the furniture frame and that was very creepy.

“My cousin’s daughter is somewhere at this party,” I said quickly. “Her name is Jessica, and she has very poor judgment. I’d really like to get her out of here and home before she does something completely stupid.”

Like set the building on fire.

“You got shit timing.”

I didn’t respond, because what the hell would I say? So far as I knew, Hallmark didn’t make a “Sorry I Interrupted Your Oral Sex” card.

“If you could start over fresh . . . free yourself from all the bad decisions you’ve made . . . would you do it?”

How do you review a book where the main character has amnesia and doesn’t even know who she is without giving anything away. I am a huge fan of K.A. Tucker’s Ten Tiny Breaths series and I was so excited and nervous about starting a new series by her. I love her work but what if this new concept didn’t compare to the first series? What if I didn’t love the characters like I loved the previous ones? I should have known better than to stress over KA’s work! She is an absolute amazing writer who is not afraid to take chances and risks. For me personally these risks completely paid off and while Burying Water was very very very different than the Ten Tiny Breaths series I loved it just as much.

“Now I don’t believe in fairy tales. Or at least not in the happily-ever-afters that Disney brainwashed us all with.”

For me the most ambitious part of this book was the fact that it is not only told with dual point of view but rotates between past and present with his POV being completely in the past and her POV being completely in the present. This being said that means you are learning about the amnesia at the same time you are learning about her connection to Jesse. It is less about figuring out the mystery by the end of the book but more about watching her learn about herself and try to discover who she is all the while you do know quite a bit. Now, there are still plenty of surprises.

“I can’t promise that I’ll like it,” ” I can promise you you that you will.”

I loved Jesse and Water but their story was so hard. I was tearing up from page one and on edge the whole time. You want them to be together but it is never that easy and Burying Water was so angsty and drama filled that I could not stop reading till I knew it would be ok. K.A. Tucker is honestly one of the most beautiful writers I have read and while there was a lot of internal dialogue in this book (something that in most books I don’t love) her writing is so smooth and breathtaking that not only did I not mind it I felt it fit the story perfectly and wouldn’t have changed one thing. I cannot wait to read more from K.A. in the future and highly recommend this one to everyone right now!
