Review
This story is a continuation from the first book which ended in one hell of an explosive scene. This book literally picks up from straight after the first and the prologue grabs you straight back into the story again with Sabrina being taken into the hospital and Caston desperate not to lose her and then continues on to the aftermath of what Beverly did and how Sabrina and Caston both cope. As with the first book though, things with this couple are never easy or straightforward.
” We were both fucked and broken but together we made each other whole again”
I gave the first in this series 3.5 stars, it had great potential but just didn’t quite reach up to it, so I went into this story with high hopes that progress had been made and that this book reached that potential. And I was really happy that after the first few chapters I knew I was going to enjoy this story more than the first.
“How do you have so much faith?”
“Because you won’t let anything stand in your way”
What made this story an improvement on the first was the plot and the evil characters! I loved the excitement and suspense of this plot, it was fast paced from the beginning and it kept me 100% hooked and the evil characters such as Beverly who was one messed up bitch but I loved her! So evil and absolutely crazy and the added dimension of Mark and his evil and cruel intentions but also his desire to please his “mistress.” Some of the story lines were far fetched but they went so well with this intense and over top story that I didn’t mind.
” I want to be her strength when she feels like it’s gone”
I enjoyed Bre and Caston’s characters a lot more in this one as well. Caston sounded and acted a lot more real in this book. He was still protective, sexy, caring and a little over the top but as with first story I loved that about him and it suited his personality. Bre wasn’t so naive this time, she was actually brave and quite strong and determined, she was someone I could relate to and hope that she got her happily ever after.
Overall I really enjoyed this story and definitely feel it made progress from the first, with a really exciting and intense plot line and with more believable characters. I truly believe that with each new book this author writes, the stories will just get better and better.

***This is the 2nd book in the series L&J – cannot be read as a stand-alone***

He inhaled sharply, but said in an even voice. “And I can’t lose you before the greatest fight I will ever wage.”
We lay on the floor, two damaged bodies searching for the light. J pulled my head into his hands, bringing us face to face. I could feel his breath against my lips. “You were a comet that bust into my life out of no where” he whispered. “I begged for you. On my knees in the dirt, I groveled to the sky to bring me light. And there you were, at Eight Oh Eight, staring up at me, even though I knew you couldn’t see through the window. I saw you, though. Elle, I saw you long before you saw me.”
“I’m not sure what to say. I want to tell you I’ll wait. That I’ll be here, waiting like a good girl for you. I want to because I love you. Fuck, I love you.” I turned, finally ready to look him in the eye. “I don’t know where I’ll be. I can’t tell you that. But I can tell you that I love the fuck out of you, and no matter how much I try to stop,” I paused. Fuck this mother fucker. Fuck! God, why was he doing this to me? Angry tears, sad tears, hopeless tears, tears filled with longing fell from my eyes. J caught then with his thumb, but there were too many. They ran over his fingers like a waterfall.
Emily is a Midwestern Gal, but could be anywhere as you read this. She gypsy’s the country, as well as south of the border. Adventure feeds her soul, and offers great writing material.
She loves kids and working with kids, but can only handle caring for four-legged furry friends. A crazy dog and laid back cat have trained her to be their partner in life.
Vices include Swedish Fish, ignoring chores in favor of reading, and caring too much for people in her life. She chose to write this bio in third person as she is an Aries, and found writing in first person ended up with her writing an excessively long life story.
Aries like to talk about themselves. It is something Emily is working on being more mindful of.

Elle was never broken.
She wasn’t shattered.

Review
This book continues from where Steel and Ice left off. We follow Elle as she recovers in hospital, we watch her struggle with what she is feeling and who she wants to see and who she doesn’t. Elle awakes to Chris by her side, as the ever present best friend will always be. When J visits Elle sends him away, and reading this is hard for both of them. We can feel Elle’s pain and you can see the hurt in J. “I was empty. Or at least I thought I was empty. J ran his hand over his face, catching a few tears before they could fall. As he turned and left the room, I realized I wasn’t empty. In fact, I was overflowing.”
This book centres around Elle’s recovery, moving onto some kind of normal and “her cubs”. We get to read the aftermath of the shooting and how it affected everyone not just Elle. We see the pain with Chris, Genesis, J and Fernie. We follow the fall out they all have because of this. Chris spends all her time trying to help Elle back into some kind of living state. Genesis has a secret to hold onto, which at 16 is a lot to handle. Fernie has the worst of all with what is happening because of what happened. He feels guilty over what happened to Elle, he is hurting because of Genesis and there is nothing that can be done. Elle tries to life some of the burden. “I was running on instinct, and my instinct said you had to live.”
J crumbles, this is hard to read. We know that he feels the guilt of what happened, whether it was an accident or not. The person he loves he hurt. We read Elle struggle with how she feels, she wants to hate him but she loves him. “Baby, I’ll be the light for the both of us. Just promise me you’ll let me. Promise me you’ll give me a shot at redemption.”
J doesn’t appear for most of the book, but we do get to read about Jose, and we get to watch the friendship between the two of them grow. I loved Jose in this book, he is such a lovable character and if Elle’s heart wasn’t with J, I think that Jose would be a great fit for her.
Melted and shattered was different to the first book in the series as this was about Elle and about her finding herself and a way to live without J in her life. It was about her realising that the kids at the centre mean more to her then she knew, it was about her doing what she can to help those around her and what she can do to better herself.
The ending to this book, just left me wanting more. I need to know how J and Elle’s story ends. Do they get the happy ever after they deserve or do the outside force have more sway. I need the answers. Well done Emily Eck on another great book in this series.

1. My favorite ice cream is chocolate/peanut butter, but I don’t do the kind with the cups in it.
2. The smell of peaches, cucumbers, and Easter lilies make me viciously gag. I can’t even walk through a produce aisle without breathing out of my mouth or holding my breath when I’m around them. Peaches are especially smelly there.
3. Watermelon, banana, and peach candy flavors are GROSS.
4. I LOVE lighthouses!
5. I’m a huge history buff. I could watch the History Channel all day when they’re showing actual shows about history.

She graduated from West Liberty University, where she received a B.S. in criminal justice. Although interested in that field, her true passion was reading and writing.

I’m a mom and a wife who works full time. I have a huge obsession with collecting paperbacks and reading. Becoming an author, wasn’t exactly what I set out to do, it just happened. I needed something to help me get rid of the feeling of being ‘just a mom’ or ‘just a wife’ that was consuming me and writing became that outlet. My book(s) cover some tough issues which are hard for some readers to digest. I am grateful for every single one of you who read my books.

About the Author

I’m supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I’m an natural redhead even though I haven’t seen my real hair color in years, I’m a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I’ve been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that. I love to write, love to read and all I’m interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something. Thanks for taking the time to check my stuff out…

Review
Let’s just start this review by saying with each book I read my girl crush on Jay Crownover grows stronger and stronger soon it will be so bad I am worried lawyers will be involved and restraining orders put into place. I would like to say that this book was my favorite of the Marked Men but I can’t because each man is so different and dynamic picking a favorite man would be like picking a favorite child. Still I loved Nash just as much as I LOVED Rule, Jet, and Rome.
Nash and Saint’s story was super emotional for me. Nash and Saint have a past and it is not pretty. Nash hurt Saint and she has a lot of trouble getting past that despite the feelings she has had for him since high school. On top of that, Nash’s uncle is dying and being the only positive male influence Nash has had in his life, Nash is not dealing with that well. All of this leads to lots of tension and angst.
Saint was an amazing heroine for me. She was both strong and weak which made for a character who was constantly interesting to read. I fell in love with her from the first moment I met her and knew that Nash would too. I could relate to her insecurities and loved how even though she knew she needed to stay away from bad boy Nash her moral code made her want to make sure he was okay.
On top of an amazing story this book was so freaking sexy. Nash is a tattooed and pierced man and Saint has loved him forever. I love the way they are so different. She is very angelic and he has tattoos on his face. They couldn’t look like opposites more but somehow they fit so perfectly together. And WOW, do they have chemistry. I was melting the whole time!
This Marked Men novel was SUPERB but I knew it would be. There has not been a Jay Crownover book that I could put down and I suspect there never will be. Her stories are emotional, sexy and hilarious all rolled into an amazing book! I swear she writes just for me because these books have everything I love in them and I could reread them a million times over!

Synopsis
Stalking and restraining orders are a thing of Alayna Wither’s past. With her MBA newly in hand, she has her future figured out—move up at the nightclub she works at and stay away from any guy who might trigger her obsessive love disorder. A perfect plan.
But what Alayna didn’t figure on is Hudson Pierce, the new owner of the nightclub. He’s smart, rich, and gorgeous—the kind of guy Alayna knows to stay away from if she wants to keep her past tendencies in check. Except, Hudson’s fixed his sights on her. He wants her in his bed and makes no secret of it.
Avoiding him isn’t an option after he offers a business proposition she can’t turn down and she’s drawn further into his universe, unable to resist his gravitational pull. When she learns Hudson has a dark history of his own, she realizes too late that she’s fallen for the worst man she could possibly get involved with. Or maybe their less than ideal pasts give them an opportunity to heal each other and finally find the love their lives have been missing.
Review
Fixed on You by Laurelin Paige was steamy, dominant, crazy perfection! When I began reading this book and found out about Alayna’s stalker tenancies I was very much intrigued. You don’t often encounter females with rap sheets for stalking. Honestly, at first I found it to be quite humorous and then as the story progressed I came to feel for her because I truly understood that she could not help her obsessive addiction.
When we meet Alayna she is a bartender with management goals at Sky Bar. Knowing she gets attached too quickly she has been avoiding dating and men. This changes when the extremely sexy Hundson Pierce (her new boss) comes into the picture with a proposition that seems to good to be true. Can Alayna follow through on Hundson’s plan and not become overly attached to him?
I LOVE Hudson Pierce. He is a sexy Dominant man who knows what he wants and what he wants is no strings attached fun with Alanya. Hudson honestly believes he is incapable of loving anyone and Alayna loves too much. What a delicious combination for an amazing story.
Laurelin Paige wrote a story that pulled me in and never let me go. This was amazingly sexy, dramatic and so good I didn’t want it to end. I can already tell that this is going to one of my favorite series and as soon as I finish this review I plan on starting Found in You.
