Adam Branigan is the new principal of the elementary school. Despite the way he and Brooke met, Adam knows there’s more to the beautiful redhead than meets the eye. He wants to be the guy to show Brooke that she deserves more than late night booty calls. But will outside pressures and past relationships conspire to tear them apart?

**This book is intended for a mature audience, age 18 and older, due to language and explicit content.

Review

The book, Bad Girlfriend, is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. Brooke Mills is a beautiful red head, that has a rep for dating men that are bad boys. Brooke lives in Penn Yan with her grandmother. One day Adam Branigan moves into the old apartment of her good friend, Poppy. Adam has just taken the new job as the principal for the elementary school of Penn Yan. In a small town, where reputations provide a label and small minds begin to talk, will Brooke and Adam be able to have a relationship? I instantly connected with the character of Brooke, I felt horrible that the citizens of Penn Yan have such an awful opinion of her. Brooke struggled with her past mistakes in men. And I also understand how people can be close minded and won’t allow you to change. It’s almost like running into your 6th grade crush, feelings take over, making you feel like the 11 year old dorky self.  Poor Brooke. A song that came to mind while I was reading was the book was “Dreamlover” by Mariah Carey. I know, I’m taking it back to the 90s but Brooke is ready to grow up and find the one that will love her, actually LOVE her! Brooke confides in her friends to help her in this task.  What do these girls resort to? Well a list that is. Lists can be a bad deal, especially in relationships. Now onto Adam Branigan, whew, I am sucker for men in glasses. And I enjoyed the idea that this character wasn’t crazy built like a body builder. I loved this quote in the book “I’m a sweater vest, glasses wearing principal, Brooke. I need to have a few tricks up my sleeve to get the ladies”. I about melted over! Unfortunately, the parents at Penn Yan elementary also have their sites on Mr. Branigan. Talk about fresh meat for hungry cougars. Controversy of course rears it ugly head and these two lover birds are in the middle of it. I am a fan of fluffy love stories and “Bad Girlfriend” was excellent. Characters were relatable. Very real and down to earth. The type of reader for this book would be one that enjoys a love story that can take place in Anywhere USA. Every romance novel has sex, of course, and this wasn’t too overbearing. I would recommend this book to friends. Great, easy read, and the flow of the story kept my interest. Before long the book was over, and it was just enough for my mind to escape from everyday tasks. 4 smooches for Bad Girlfriend! Sarah

Synopsis

How far would you go to get something you really wanted?

Emily Malone has had a crush on her brother’s best friend, Paul, all her life.

Unfortunately, he just sees her as his friend’s little sister.

Desperate and infatuated, Emily resorts to lies and deception.

She only needs one night with Paul, to finally get over this obsessive crush.

But Fate has other ideas. . .

Review

Emily Malone is quite obsessed with her childhood sweetheart, Paul

Jarman. Knowing he wouldn’t view her any other way than his “little rabbit”,

she comes up with a plan. Emily changes herself drastically, change of hair

color and length, colored contacts, oh and even breast augmentation.

Emily conveniently runs into Paul as Candy in Mexico and carries out her

plan. Will one night of pleasure be able to kick Emily’s obsession with Paul?

This was my first Nikki Sex book and I’ll say it was really good. The

sex scenes were definitely hot. The storyline had good direction and took

you for a ride. I especially liked how Nikki introduced the reader to The

Basement, a fetish club. I’m sure she did the homework on this topic since

I may never go to one in my life. Haha.

I found that each character had great development. Andre was

probably my favorite character because he’s the only that had it together

and was poised. There were moments when I would get upset with Paul

and his immaturity. Especially when he found out Candy was Emily, but I

hung in there. I realized it was just how his father is and poor guy doesn’t

know any different.

I will be honest though, the beginning of the booked dragged a little

for me, I wasn’t sure I could finish it. So it did get better for me and I gladly

finished the book. I did like that this book was very informative on the

submissive/dom relationship. It was told differently than other BDSM books

I have read and I enjoyed it. BDSM readers will gladly add this book to their

collection. I give 4 smooches to Fate by Nikki Sex.

Review

I was frustrated while reading this story as there was great potential but it just didn’t reach it.
It had a slight 50 shades and This Man feel. A rich, sexy man who owns a sex club and men’s magazine and a young somewhat naive women who’s in college, coming together in a passionate and drama filled relationship. It just didn’t quite reach the quality of similar books.

There were things I liked about this book. Firstly the plot was good, it had all the potential there. There was sex, passion, love, drama. All the elements required for a good sexy romance. I loved the story line about Caston’s “mother” She was pure evil and a little crazy in my eyes but she made for a great story line. And my favourite scene has to be the sex scene on the plane. It was off the charts hot and sexy.

I also liked the characters personalities. Caston was sexy, strong, protective, caring…he showed his emotions to Bre, he was very passionate, a bit over dramatic at times but I would love to have a guy who got down on his knees to apologise to me so I didn’t really mind when he went a bit over the top.

Bri was the classic young naive women to me. She did have spirit though and even though at the beginning she seemed a bit weak to me as the story progressed she became stronger and spirited and more aware of herself and what she was involved in.

One of the aspects I didn’t love about the story was the dialogue between the characters and the flow of the writing.
Honestly I felt that Caston sounded like a robot sometimes. He rarely used words like ‘didn’t’ or ‘can’t’ it was always ‘did not’ and ‘can not’ and it just didn’t seem realistic to me, it’s not how people talk to each other, although I do understand that because he came from a wealthy family, upper class, that this may be how the author wanted him to talk and sound.

Another aspect I didn’t love was that it was often unbelievable. They fell in love within a day, which is just too quick for me and the flashback scene of when we are told of how Bre and Mark met, although I felt terrible for Bre, it was unrealistic so I couldn’t connect to that story line.

The ending however was brilliant. It was so explosive. It all happened so quickly and there was so much drama, I LOVED it!

There is potential here for this story to be great. But for me it fell short in a number of aspects. I will definitely read books from this author again to see the progress because I do believe as more books are released the better they will be and the ending to this story definitely got me hooked and I look forward to finding out what happens next.

About FOUR SECONDS TO LOSE:

Owning a strip club isn’t the fantasy most guys expect it to be. With long hours, a staff with enough issues to keep a psych ward in business, and the police regularly on his case, twenty-nine year old Cain is starting to second guess his unspoken mission to save the women he employs. And then blond, brown-eyed Charlie Rourke walks through his door, and things get really complicated. Cain abides by a strict “no sleeping with the staff” rule. But being around Charlie challenges Cain’s self-control…and it’s been a long time since any woman has done that.

Twenty-two-year old Charlie Rourke needs a lot of money, really fast, in order to vanish before it’s too late. Taking her clothes off for men makes her stomach curl but Charlie tells herself that at least she’s putting her acting anddancing skills to good use. And though her fellow dancers seem eager to nab their sexy, sophisticated, and genuinely caring boss, she’s not interested. After all, Charlie Rourke doesn’t really exist—and the girl pretending to be her doesn’t need to complicate her life with romance.

Unfortunately, Charlie soon discovers that developing feelings for Cain is inevitable, that those feelings may not be unrequited—but losing him when he finds out what she’s involved with will be more painful than any other sentence awaiting her.

Synopsis

What happens when your soul mate returns after twelve long years – and has no idea who you are?

Aubrey Anderson is a pediatric occupational therapist who’s spent the last twelve years rebuilding her life after a car accident killed her boyfriend and crushed her legs. A series of strokes on the way to the hospital left her with no memory of either the accident or the weeks leading up to it, so when she starts having nightmares she can’t explain, she decides to return to the scene to see if she can piece together her past.

Finn Cavallo is Lindsey Point’s resident playboy, owner of a popular bar, and hero of the Cove Fire, when he pulled seven people from a burning building twelve years earlier. But his flirtatious personality hides the heart of a man who lost his soul mate the night of the fire. When Aubrey walks into his bar with no memory of who he is or what they had, he’s stunned – and it takes everything he has not to tell her about the summer they spent falling in love.

It’s only a matter of time before bar conversation turns to passion on the beach and more. But when a series of events raises suspicion that Finn himself might have started the Cove Fire, Aubrey is forced to do whatever she can to discover the truth about both their pasts, including going back to the spot where it all began..

Review

I started “Inferno of Love” right after reading the first book in the series “Beacon of Love” so I was excited to hear Finn’s story. I do recommend reading “Beacon of Love” first because there is quite a bit of back story that is really ties into this book. I had high hopes after reading the first book and I was not disappointed at all! This was definitely a page turner! The dual POV lets you see both Finn and Aubrey’s perspective and the author does a great job once again at writing an excellent mystery that kept me guessing! Aubrey and Finn have a past; the problem is that Aubrey has absolutely no memory of it! After a summer romance 12 years ago Aubrey was in a terrible car accident that left her with amnesia along with both physical and mental disabilities. I loved this character; she had a wonderful balance of strength and vulnerability. Finn has never forgotten the girl who stole his heart and then left without a trace 12 years ago. Since then he has never been able to find that same connection with another woman, sticking with one night stands and casual sex partners. Finn is a tortured soul who feels the need to help others to make up for what he thinks are his failures. Aubrey ends up back in Lindsey Point looking to fill in the blanks of her missing memories and when Finn see her again he must decide to tell her the truth or go on pretending they’d never met! This book, like the first, is less steamy than I am normally used too but again the story was so good it didn’t bother me so much. It was great to see some characters from the first book make appearances in this one and answer some questions I had. I was happy with the ending but felt there were still a few loose ends to tie up, hopefully those will be explained in the next book in the Hometown Hero’s series!

SPIN by CD Reiss Review

SPIN

Synopsis

Mafia capo, Antonio Spinelli blew through my orderly life like a cyclone.

Gorgeous and passionate, with a breathtaking brutality, he put me under his spell the moment he touched me, drawing me into his underworld of risk, violence and betrayal.

And I found, just as this sophisticated savage didn’t trust me, I didn’t trust myself. Something happened to me. Some alchemy from the heat between us.

I discovered I was a savage, too.

Review

There are few writers that I drop everything for when something new comes out. CD Reiss is one of those writers. I fell in love with her Songs of Submission series and true to form, I’m falling head over heels in love with her Songs of Corruption series as well.

Spin is just that good.

I often roll my eyes at my husband because whenever The Godfather is on TV, he leaves it on the channel and then scrunches down in his easy chair and gets comfortable to endure the 3.5 hour long snooze fest, I mean movie. It’s a whole routine with us, because it always puts me to sleep and he always goes into his tirade about it being the greatest movie ever made, blah blah, blah. I’ve never admitted to him that I actually LIKE the movie. We are talking The Godfather, Part 1. I just don’t want to watch it every time it happens to be on. In many cases, SPIN reminds me of the Godfather. There are men, Italian men, speaking Italian and kissing cheeks and all that. Men with missing fingers and “made” men. Men who use their fists to solve problems and “take care of business.”

In truth, it is all very hot! I am very much the sucker for the man who will just take care of it. It being the woman’s safety, the damsel who may be in distress, she can certainly take care of her own mess, and yet she turns to the dashing, strong Capo and relinquishes control to him. The woman that finally feels like she is living, breathing, seeing life as it should be, through the eyes of a lover. Theresa Drazen is that woman. She is strong, capable, composed. She is a Drazen, for heaven’s sakes. She is everything and yet nothing without Antonio Spinelli. Once she meets him, that is it. They are both doomed to endure the passion and fire and heat that ignites once they are in each others embrace. Antonio struggles with his inner demons and his outer threats. He knows that getting Theresa involved in his life will be the death of him, or her, or both. But alas, he cannot stay away.

The writing is superb; the sex scenes are scorching; the newest addiction has begun. I am enraptured by Contessa and Capo. You will be too!

Excerpt
“Ben?”
“Tatum.”  Hearing
my name cross his lips in that sultry voice is more of a turn-on than I could
have ever imagined and I need to shut it down.
“You looked really pretty this morning.”
“I did?”
“Yep.  And I bet you
look even better right now in bed.”
My pulse races.  How does he
know I’m in bed?
He yawns, and that makes me yawn too, even though now I’m wide
awake.
“Thanks.  You weren’t
that bad to look at yourself.  What makes
you think I’m in bed?”
“I don’t know.  I was
just guessing.  It is the middle of the
night.”  He pauses before adding,
“And that’s where I’ve been picturing you.”
I blush.  “You’re
picturing me?  What am I
wearing?”  I laugh to myself,
thinking that the cliché question is suppose to be “What are you wearing?”  But we’re in his imagination and I’m eager to
know what he keeps there.
He makes a humming sound that vibrates all the way through me.  “You really want to know?”
“Yes.”  My one-word
answer comes out slowly and wavers in and out, sounding like a question.
I hear the air hiss through his teeth before he says, “It
isn’t much.  Sleep well.  I’ll see you in the morning.”  Then he’s gone before I even say goodnight or
talk him further into a pay-by-the-minute type of conversation.
I won’t bore you with the details, but my faithful device, Mr.
Right, just didn’t cut it tonight.
Maybe it’s time for a new one.
Or new lots of things.

Dating isn’t something she wants or needs—or is it?Jordan works hard, running his father’s legacy. A legacy that may be quickly crashing to the ground. With his brother, Jackson, together, they work to pump life back into their company. He doesn’t have time for dating, but then he meets Pepper. Will he be the one to free her heart from the icy façade and make things right? Or, will things go terribly wrong?

I’m a thirty-two-year-old self-proclaimed book nerd.  Married to for nearly eleven years, my husband and I enjoy spending time with our two lovely children.  Writing is a newly acquired fun hobby for me.  In the past, I’ve enjoyed the role as a reader.  However, recently, I learned that I absolutely love taking on the creative role as the writer.  Something about determining how the story will play out intrigues me to no end.  My husband claims that it’s because I like to control things—in a way, he’s right!
By day, I run around from appointment to appointment, wearing many hats including, mom, wife, part-time graphic designer, blogger, networker, social media stalker, student, business owner, and book boyfriend hunter.  (It’s actually a thing—complete with pink camo.  I lurk around the internet, “researching” pictures of hot guys who fit the profile of whatever book boyfriend I’m reading or writing about)
I guess you can blame my obsession with books on my lovely grandmother, who is quite possibly my favorite person on the planet.  At an early age, she took me to the half-priced bookstore each weekend and allowed me to choose a book.  Every single time, she caved when I begged for two.  Without her encouragement, I wouldn’t have been able to cope during some hard times without my beloved books.
Currently, I am finishing up my college degree that has taken me forever to complete.  It’s just on the list of my many “bucket-list” goals that I subject myself to.
Most days, you can find me firmly planted in front of my computer.  It’s my life.  If the world ever loses power, I’d be one of the first to die—of boredom!  But I guess as long as I have books and a light, I might just survive.
Looking forward, you can expect to see two more novels in the Breaking the Rules Series.  I’m nearly finished with the third.  Also, I have a standalone novel that will be released soon as well.
This writing experience has been a blast, and I’ve met some really fabulous people along the way.  I hope my readers enjoy reading my stories as much as I do writing them.  I look forward to connecting with you all!
