Review

Please believe me when I say that I having a hard time coming up with words to describe Past Heaven. Saying “I love this book” does not do it justice! I laughed, cried, smiled and overall this book warmed my heart. The writing style is beyond captivating. Beauty flowed off the pages. As a reader, I search for a book that transports me into its story, a movie right before my eyes, and Laura Ward did this for me!
Liz Atwater loses the love of her life and father of her 3 sons, Jack, in a tragic way. Now having to raise her children on her own and the life insurance check slowly depleting, Liz is faced with more challenges. Reynolds Carter, People’s magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive, consumed by Hollywood doesn’t know who he is anymore. On a trip home to his parent’s, he finds an answer to his dilemma.
These two worlds collide and work together on a project. The chemistry between these two is instantaneous but for Liz, she feels she is betraying her first love and her children. A character that took the cake for me in this book is best friend Cindy. Her dialogue was brilliantly funny. Couldn’t get enough of her, a great element to the book for sure. And the boys, Griffin, Grayson and Hayden. These boys just made my heart burst, they were great!
I can not wait to spread the word about this book. I can think of friends that will definitely enjoy Liz and Reynolds love story. These two are not in their 20s, they are adults finding love! Reynolds even has peek-a-boo streaks of gray! Oh my gosh, it’s totally hot for me! I highly recommend this book! Be sure to add it to your list of fave books for 2015 😉
