SYNOPSIS:
He lives by a set of rules. She might be his one exception.
I just wanted a distraction, something to take the edge off before facing a wedding I was dreading. So on the flight back to New York, I signed up for a dating app. Harmless enough, right?
Wrong.
Turns out, it wasn’t just any app—it catered to people with very specific tastes. By the time I realized it, I was already on my date.
Tall, confident, and sinfully handsome, Jagger Langston seemed like the full package. The chemistry between us was instant—electric enough to burn the whole city down. Though things took a turn when we figured out I’d misunderstood who should join the app. We laughed it off, said goodbye, and went our separate ways.
Or so I thought.
Until I walked into my new internship Monday morning, ready to put the weekend behind me, and there he was—my boss.
Now I’m caught between the rules he lives by—and the temptation to make him break every single one of them.

REVIEW:
Vi Keeland masterfully blended the thrill of forbidden attraction with the commanding presence of a classic alpha billionaire in her latest steamy, addictive workplace romance, The Exception. Jagger, the powerful and decisive CEO, met his match in Sutton, the brilliantly sassy intern who also happened to be the daughter of one of the company’s top executives, a complication that made their explosive connection entirely off-limits.
Keeland expertly built the tension between them, crafting electric chemistry that ignited into exhilarating sexual exploration while layering in the high-stakes risk of their boss-intern, age-gap dynamic. Their verbal sparring was sharp, their intimate moments were both bold and vulnerable, and the push-and-pull of wanting what they shouldn’t have kept my Air Pods in my ears as a devoured this book in a single listen. Told with Keeland’s signature blend of wit, heat and emotional depth, The Exception was a captivating and naughty delight that I couldn’t put down.
I listened to the audiobook, narrated in duet by one of my top favorite pairings, Sebastian York and Andi Arndt. Their natural chemistry was perfect for this intense couple, and they both delivered wonderful performances that brought these characters to life in my ears. Five smooches from me for The Exception by Vi Keeland!
