Too Young to Fall in Love by Lacey Black is the seventh book in The Burgers and Brew Crüe series, and I’m just as smitten with these characters and this world as I was when I picked up the first book. Engaging plots, heart-string pulling emotion, sexy romances and endearing characters are the foundation this series is built upon, making it a fan favorite from the talented Lacey Black, who is known for her wonderful small-town romances.

Black masterfully weaved a story that was both heartwarming and suspenseful. Kellen is the Burgers and Brew bartender, and he’s a bit flirty, a notorious playboy and definitely not looking for a relationship. Cameron is a server at Burgers and Brew, and she’s dealing with her bad-guy ex who really wants her back and isn’t taking no for an answer. Thus begins Kellen and Cam’s fake relationship, and as the drama swirling around Cam starts to turn dangerous, it isn’t long before the rest of the Burgers and Brew crew is in on the action. Kellen and Cam are friends, but there has always been sparks of chemistry between them. The closer they get and the more time they spend together, though, the hotter things get, and the more those lines between them start to blur.

Melanie Harlow launches her new Cherry Tree Harbor series with Runaway Love, a quick, easy-reading and fun new contemporary romance featuring a runaway bride and grumpy single dad. I love Melanie Harlow’s writing style. It lends itself perfectly to the small-town trope. It’s cozy and warm while yet sweet, sultry and so very romantic. She’s also a very descriptive author, immersing her readers into these small towns and the worlds of her characters, and keeping them there with a creative, engaging plots and endearing characters.

Veronica lands in Cherry Tree Harbor on her wedding day after both the event and the relationship implode. Stranded in her wedding dress, she winds up at Austin’s house to apply for the job as the nanny to his adorable twins. A slow burn romance, Austin and Roni seemed to be in a constant state of will-they-or-won’t-they as their relationship built. The chemistry between them was electric, and they really struggled to keep it at bay. Austin’s grumpy nature was a stark contrast to Roni’s sunny yet spirited disposition. The forbidden love aspect of their relationship created a palpable tension that kept me fully invested in their story. The charming small town vibe was a captivating backdrop, and the side characters added depth and interest.

Runaway Love was sweet, steamy, swoony and sassy. I was looking for something lighter-hearted and this definitely fit that bill. The emotion in this story was just right–nothing too heavy, angsty or overly dramatic. With just enough heart, a good dose of humor and a whole lot of heat, this was a feel-good read that I devoured in a day. Runaway Love by Melanie Harlow gets 4.5 smooches from me!

REVIEW:

Fans of M/M romance need to brace for Limited Edition Husband by Lauren Blakely writing as L. Blakely. All of Blakely’s work is incredible, but the care she takes with her plotting, the romance build-up and character development in her M/M romances is evident on every single page, and she penned a not-to-be-missed, must-read masterpiece for lovers of the genre in this story. She employs the fake-marriage trope creatively in this contemporary sports romance between American football player, Nate Chandler, and newly out Brit, Hunter Coburn. I listened to the audiobook, and Teddy Hamilton, one of my favorite narrators, positively nailed his performance of the virile yet vulnerable, Nate. James Joseph is a new-to-me narrator, and he completely captured the charm of Hunter’s effervescence and innocence in his portrayal of him. The natural chemistry between these two narrators breathed life into Nate and Hunter, and coupled with Blakely’s addictive writing style and an engaging storyline, I was hooked from start-to-finish.

As is often the case, what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay there. Following a drunken night on the town, the Brit and the baller wake up in a bit of a predicament when they realize their one-night-stand didn’t turn out the way they planned. They got married, and things only become more complicated from there. The plot takes a twisting, turning, smoking hot journey as they navigate through the challenges of their fake relationship. Nate, still recovering from his ex’s betrayal and the end of his marriage, struggles as this fake relationship with Hunter starts to feel pretty real. Hunter—who’s going through trial by fire with the number of first-times he’s experiencing—is a ray of sunshine in their storm with his upbeat, positive personality, which is a breath of fresh air for Nate.

Blakely masterfully weaves the story of Nate and Hunter’s romance in Limited Edition Husband. From their adorable meet-cute—involving some well-placed pie—to the frantic, frenzied realization that they’re married and the passionate, emotional build-up of their fake relationship as it turns into something very real. I absolutely loved Accidental Attachment by Max Monroe! This romantic comedy had me laughing out loud from the very beginning, and I didn’t put it down until I finished it. The characters were so well-developed and had such great chemistry, making their story feel real and believable. The plot was cleverly crafted, and full of the laugh-out-loud humor I’ve come to expect from Max Monroe.

I loved the witty and humorous banter between Brooke and Chase. The slow burn build-up of their relationship was so sexy and worth every single heart-palpitating second. Their interactions were hilarious, and made for some truly unforgettable moments. This was such a light-hearted and fun romcom—the perfect mix of heart, heat and humor. Accidental Attachment by Max Monroe gets 4.5 smooches from me!
