Young, rich, and unaware of how seriously hot he is, Brooks Davison is tearing it up as the latest shortstop for the New York Kings, despite his tendency to blush whenever girls scream his name.
When a health scare forces his best friend, Kyle Roberts, off the team, no one can stomach the thought of replacing him, especially so close to the playoffs.
Until Kyle’s sister, Sasha, steps in, convincing management to let her take his place. The idea of signing the first female player in Major League history proves too tempting for the Kings to resist.
Nevertheless, Brooks doesn’t want any part of it. Sasha is Kyle’s little sister, not some sideshow.
Yet when Kyle takes a turn for the worse, Brooks promises to do everything in his power to help Sasha win a championship for him. Because there’s no way he’s letting either of them down. Not now, not ever.
Collette West grew up as somewhat of a jock-nerd hybrid. Entering the world three weeks premature, her dad nearly missed her birth because he had seats behind the dugout for a sold-out, highly-anticipated match-up between two of baseball’s biggest rivals. Not to be outdone, her book-loving mom taught her how to read by the time she was three. A love of the game coupled with an appreciation for the written word were instilled in Collette’s impressionable brain from a young age. No wonder her characters believe in the philosophy: sports + romance = a little slice of heaven.
Splitting her time between the Pocono Mountains and Manhattan, Collette indulges her inner fangirl by going to as many games as she can from hockey to baseball and downloading every sports romance novel in existence onto her iPad. When she’s not clicking away on her laptop, she enjoys walking her dog in Central Park, satisfying her caffeine craving at the Starbucks on Broadway and keeping an eye out for Mr. Right. But above all, she loves dishing with her readers. Email her at collette_west@yahoo.com.
She is the author of NIGHT GAMES and GAME CHANGER.
“Are you seriously sticking up for being a part of some misogynistic boys’ club? That the esteemed New York Kings are nothing more than a lame-ass frat?” This time, I’m able to free my hand before recrossing my arms over my chest.
“That’s exactly what I’m saying,” he responds, his voice growing deeper. “You breached one of the last remaining stalwarts of male pride. You had to have known there’d be repercussions. Change in a place with as much tradition as Kings Stadium is gonna take time. You can’t expect to shake things up overnight. The world these guys live in doesn’t move that fast.”
“Well, it should,” I reply stubbornly, jutting out my hip. “But that’s not even what I’m mad about. I’m more upset that you chose to distance yourself from me because you thought I was preventing you from doing your job, like I was some kind of distraction you had to get rid of. That’s bullshit and you know it. Our play on the field has been nothing short of spectacular. There was no reason for you to turn your back on me like that. You’re just too much of a coward to think you could handle both me and the job.”
“You’re right,” he agrees, taking a step forward and backing me up against the side of the bed. “I am a coward. I’ve always been a coward. All my life, I’ve let my dad browbeat me into submission. Even when he’s miles away, he’s able to get inside my head and influence my decisions. I’ve always sought his approval without ever getting it. There’s something missing inside me, Sasha. I know that. But when I’m with you, I don’t feel it. You fill me up, make me feel like I’m not lacking anything. You make me feel like I’m finally good enough, like I’m able to stand on my own two feet and be the man you need me to be. You get me, Sasha, the way no one else does, and I’m sorry if I let you down. I know I’ll never be good enough for you. All I can do is keep trying because I’m not letting you go. I’m never letting you go.”

Earning Yancy is book 2 in the NSFW (Not Safe For Work) Series by C.C. Wood. I love C.C.’s writing and have yet to read a book by her I didn’t love. Her women are feisty and fun and her men have just enough Alpha in them to keep me wanting more. Earning Yancy is a fast and fun book about two co-workers who start off not liking each other AT ALL! Normally calm under pressure, Yancy, is pushed so much by the rudeness of Charles that she breaks down and yells at him. His response . . . start pursing her. Single mother Yancy has been burned by a bad marriage and divorce and isn’t wanting to date anyone. Her only focus is providing a good life for her sick little girl. Charles is arrogant and pushy but oh so handsome too. He gets under her skin and she finds herself thinking of him more than she would like.
As always, C.C.’s writing is full of quick wit and hilarious one liners. I love when an author understands humor and wit and gets it right and boy does C.C. The humor is there (and had me laughing hard) but it is subtle and doesn’t over power this love story. Earning Yancy really is a sweet love story about forgetting what you think is the right thing to do and following your heart. It was fun, sweet and super sexy just as I knew it would be. C.C.’s books aren’t long but they always pack a punch and I am always happy I sat down and read them. I definitely recommend this series and book!

I refused to work my way up the company ladder by sexually favoring my sleazy boss. I was beginning to lose hope. Until one day, he surprised me with an assignment that would literally rock my world.
I never imagined my first assignment being my last. But Brent Nichols worked his way inside every way possible, unlocking something within me.
Becoming a porn star was never part of the plan. Neither was changing my name.
Everyone else knows me as Lucy Rogers, but you can call me Lotus Raine.
“We don’t have to do this tonight, but you’ll just be prolonging the inevitable if you decide against it.” His hand moved to my neck, cradling it as it fell back and his free hand trailed up my thigh, moving under the jean fabric of my shorts. “If you don’t want to go all the way, I won’t fight it, but let me at least give you a taste of what you’ll be missing out on.” He bent down, whispering into my ear, licking the edge of it as his finger slipped beneath the security of my cotton panties. Man was I thankful for my non-painted on shorts at that very moment. And so was my conscious pussy.
I bit my lip—hard—suppressing the moan. I internalized it by pressing my center closer to him, as his finger moved in and out of me deeper and faster.
“So wet. So wet and tight.” He murmured praises into my neck as he recklessly worked his finger in and out of me. I had never been touched as possessively and with such expertise as I had with him. In my mind, he had to be a professional fingerer. That had to be a profession, right?
Knocking at the door broke through my consciousness and caused my body to tense.
“Wait your fuckin’ turn,” he turned his head, yelling toward the door.
“We need to go,” I said hesitantly as he continued working his finger, adding his thumb to the mix as he rubbed my clit. My hands pressed into the top of the counter as I pushed myself further into the wall. I could feel it deep within me—signs of what was to come, forming and beginning to crackle throughout my body. Like an electrical current seeking full charge. Sparks here and there uniting, wanting to become one combustible unit.
“We aren’t leaving this bathroom until you get off. Either by my finger or my dick. The choice is yours.”
“Seriously?” I withered even more beneath him. “Who talks like that?” I had never been so turned on in all my life. It wasn’t just the way he was touching me, but that damn mouth of his could get me off by words alone.
“Men who know what they’re doing.” He looked up and gave me a sexy smirk.

I can honestly say I had no idea what I was getting into when I began reading this book. Sometimes I like to go in blind and I don’t even read the synopsis. What can I say I am a daredevil! Well the title had me hooked and the teasers Erika posted to Facebook made me super anxious to start reading this book and I can honestly say I was not let down at all. I was actually pleasantly surprised that this book was so not about porn but about the path a journalist takes to discover who she really is and work towards being confident in her own skin.
Lucy came from an unstable home with a stripper mom. To say she was looking for the opposite kind of life for herself would be an understatement. She was willing to sell herself short in the love department if it meant a normal life. What Lucy wasn’t prepared for was the intense feelings she would have for her interview subject, Brent, the re-emerging porn star. After a couple chance meeting Lucy is surprised to see Brent and is taken back that he is who he is. But that does not stop her from deciding to have a little fun with him although she knows this cannot go anywhere real. A life with a porn star is not what she has imagined for herself in the long run.
Boy was this book steamy in all the right ways. But really, a book about a professional it better be right! lol! Brent was definitely swoon worthy it all the right ways. In addition to being panty dropping sexy he was gentle and kind. Basically everything I look for in a book boyfriend and I so want more! He was so much more than I expected and not at all what I pictured in my head when I went in (remember I was blind) I loved how real he felt. He wasn’t overly egotistical or arrogant but instead he was understanding and fun. When I picture a porn star I assume they are over confident assholes, but Brent showed me that you cannot pin-point a person just because of what they do and really that’s what he showed Lucy too. You are more than what you do and more than what you like. People are multi-faceted and this book really shows that.
How I Became Lotus Raine . . .the porn star is not an outright funny book but the wit in it is very well written and I often found myself laughing out loud and highlighting so much of the story! Mixing wit with a story about finding yourself can be tricky and Erika does it seamlessly! I very much enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from Erika in the future!

“You don’t have to thank me every time I make you come.”
“I was content with one day marrying a Goody Two-shoes man – one with a reputable career. We’d have scheduled, yawn worthy sex. And every now and then, he might be able to get me off. But more times than not, I’d be taking a shower afterwards, using the detachable showerhead to finish off what he attempted to start.”

Review
Twist of Fate was a story of what was supposed to be a one-night stand turning into something so much more.
Silas and Lily agree to one night together, no phone numbers, no last names and no strings attached but fate had other ideas. Neither of them could have imagined that a few years down the line they would be in each other’s lives again and this time it won’t be easy for them to walk away thanks to that one night’s conception.
“There isn’t much I don’t remember from that night. It was the best night of my life.”
I have to admit that in the last month I have read at least 2 books with this same story line; man meets woman, man and woman have one great night, years down line man and woman meet again and man realises he has a child. So I’m not sure if I’m being a bit mean because I’ve heard this story line a few times but I just didn’t love it as much as the others I have read. I enjoyed it, but I didn’t love it.
“I love this woman and I’m never going to let her go again. She’s ruined me and no one will, or ever can, replace her and I need to make her mine.”
I really liked Silas, he was a great guy who was easily likeable and I did enjoy his character. However I struggled with Lilly, I’m not 100% sure why this was but she just seemed a little insensitive at times towards Silas and the situation, especially during the heart-breaking story line concerning Silas and Kristin. There were great supporting characters such as Ezra, Lucas and Megan. They gave an extra little something to the story and made me smile and laugh a little with their personalities.
“I think I’ve always known deep down that you would come back to me. That’s why Miles and Delilah are so happy together. You’re my Miles.”
The plot (like I’ve mentioned) is something I’ve read a few times recently and although I really enjoy this sort of story, this one just wasn’t one of my favourites. I think for me this story seemed more unbelievable than the others, probably due to how short this book was and the writing didn’t flow great for me. I did really enjoy the part of Lily being an author and the drama and sadness that Silas and Kristin’s part played within the book.
“I can’t promise you a happy ending, because true love never ends.”
Overall it was a okay-good read; there were some good characters and aspects of the plot that I did enjoy. I think this genre is so competitive at the moment and with just a few tweaks to maybe the length of the story to maybe add in more aspects to the plot and working on the characters development a little more, then this author will be on to a winner and will go far with her future work.

Children’s librarian by day. Romance novelist by night.
British single father.
Someone else is writing this love story…
Blair Walton isn’t your average curvaceous tattooed children’s librarian. She’s also one half of bestselling romance author, Scarlet Rose. Along with her BFF Raine, she spends her nights writing books so steamy, she’s afraid they would shock her Southern conservative grandmother to death . . . if she knew about them. That’s why she and Raine write in secret.
On deadline for their latest book and out of ideas, Raine suggests (demands) that Blair find a guy and “do some research”. Declan Bennet has all the qualifications: He’s British, looks fabulous in a suit, has glorious blue eyes and gets bonus points for being an amazing single dad to his adorable son, Drake. But what starts out as a research project quickly turns into something much more. And Blair’s not the only one with secrets.
“It is very nice to meet you, Blair. I hope this little tyke hasn’t been too much trouble.” And then he smiled and I had to sit down.
“Uh, no. Not at all. He’s been a perfect,” I choked on my own air, “a perfect gentleman.” I wasn’t going to snitch on him for being disrespectful, but I was sure Ada would get right on that. Out of the corner of my eye I could see her pursing her lips. For a nanny, she didn’t seem as if she liked kids very much.
“See, Daddy? I was good.” I didn’t think Drake could grasp what a wink meant yet, or else I would have totally shared one with him.
I wanted to know if “Daddy” had a name, but it seemed awkward to ask.
“Drake and I were just filling out paperwork so he can get his very own library card.” I glanced down and saw Ada had filled out all the information but had neglected to sign the form. “I just need an adult’s signature to get the card made.” I handed him the clipboard and a pen, hoping the expression on my face was neutral. Score. Now I could see what his first name was.
“Well now, your very own library card. Are you going to take very good care of it and not lose it? Only very special children get to have library cards,” Drake’s father said.
“I take good care of it, Daddy. I’s promise,” Drake said holding up his pinky. His father leaned down and linked his pinky with his son’s, pulling Drake’s hand up to his mouth to kiss it. Then Drake did the same thing with his father’s hand. My heart turned into liquid and I had to look away to wipe my suddenly watering eyes because I couldn’t deal with how sweet it was.
I turned and Ada caught me again with her judgey eyes.
“Okay, I’m going to go get this card made, alright, Drake?”

Brilliant geneticist Kat Ciaramitaro is, and always has been, a bit of a nerd. She’s also the only level-headed member of a big Italian family where crazy reigns supreme. A life-altering medical diagnosis seven years ago changed a lot of things, but most days, Kat handles the emotional and physical baggage just fine. Because that’s what strong women do, right? They stand and they deal. Or, if they can’t stand, they sit and they deal.
Cleveland Police Officer Danny MacDonough is broken. Eighteen years of being passed from foster home to foster home left him feeling unwanted and totally unlovable, but Danny’s spent every moment since his eighteenth birthday making up for lost time, grabbing happiness wherever he can, with whomever he can, however he can…all while making sure no one gets close enough to see all the cracks in his well-honed façade.
When Kat’s sister married Danny’s best friend, their lives became forever intertwined. Despite their different backgrounds and polar opposite personalities, Danny and Kat formed a visceral connection the moment they met. They fought it with all they had, but one fateful night changes everything – thrusting them into an all-consuming, passionate relationship that threatens to tear down the walls they’ve so carefully constructed around their hearts.
But Kat is ill and Danny is wounded. And nothing about what’s developed between them is easy or neat. Their love is messy and chaotic and its intensity ultimately forces them into one final showdown where Danny and Kat must decide once and for all what will win–
His past, her future or their love?
What can I say but WOW! AMAZING! and WHEN CAN I GET MORE! All Of You by Gina Sorelle is the second book in All Of Me Series and as much as I loved the first book I absolutely loved the second one. I am in love with Kat and Danny and I am actually a bit sad their story is over. As long as it was I only want more and more. Gina hooked me from the beginning with Danny’s man-whore ways and Kat’s absolute hatred for him! You just know with strong feeling like that that this is going to be intense and intense it was!
If you have read book one than you already know Nathan and Stella. Danny is Nathan’s best friend and partner and Kat is Stella’s sister. If this isn’t asking for drama and trouble I don’t know what is. These two together are force to be reckoned with. Both coming with their on insecurities and trust issues, you would think that this would be doomed from the start. What I wasn’t expecting was to absolutely fall in love with Danny. He is so kind, gentle, and loving with Kat it made me yearn for a man like that. When they couldn’t stand each other their feelings were strong but when they couldn’t stay away from each other their feelings and emotions were out of this world strong.
Now, all this being said you would think that this would be an easy love story but sadly that is not the case. If you have read Gina before then you know she is going to make you work for it and damn if she does. Kat is sick and in all honesty she is not going to get better. MS is a disease that she will have for the rest of her life and she knows that any person she commits herself to will have to deal with her body’s gradual deterioration and she isn’t willing to put anyone through that. She is determined to live a life without a relationship and focus on her family and work. That would be enough to drive any reader to tears but Danny’s personal struggle of being left alone and having no one will have you bawling like a baby in the corner. But damn if the ugly cry isn’t worth it!
I knew going in that this would be an emotional tear jerker, anyone who read the blurb could see that. What surprised me the most was how funny it was. I found myself constantly laughing which was a great change of pace after crying my eyes out. On top of the well placed bits of humor Gina has a way of taking the most serious thing you can think of and still making it all come off so sexy and erotic. In her books very serious diseases and afflictions are tackled but they always seem like a background story never really overshadowing or overpowering the true intention of the book which is an intense love story. I can honestly say that I highly recommend this book and that I hope that she does not take too long to release the next one.
