How did I start the Lafayette Club? 

Well, I’m in the business of saving tarnished souls. I hand pick girls from the street who have no options left in life and give them an opportunity they can’t possibly refuse. 

They come to work in the Lafayette Club which is full of EXQUISITE DEBAUCHERY, where influential men come to conduct business and lap dances are considered a fine art. 

The girls are trained, they are morphed, they are educated, they follow the rules of the club and they know to submit to me. They live by my motto, no relationships, no love, just sex.

Review

Let me just preface this little review by saying I loved LOVED this book. Oh my goodness. It was downright hilarious. I mean, laugh out loud, squirt a little pee in your panties FUNNY. It was sad, almost devastating at the pain the characters have had to endure. It was sexy as hell with it’s own little “red room of pain’. You know what I’m talkin’ about ladies. This book has it all. An expertly woven back story that popped up and made me gasp. The depth and insecurities of the characters really shone through, and that is something I value greatly while reading. Even if it’s sexy smut.

Goldie is unlike any lady I’ve ever read before. She is downright crass, brash but so bright and beautiful I could see her; feel her. Her confidence was captivating and her ability to roll with the punches after her life was irrevocably changed from Hurricane Katrina was admirable. Granted, she took roads that maybe aren’t for everyone, but she survived and it led her to Jett.

Jett. Jett, Jett, oh Jett. He is sexy as hell, charming and filthy stinkin’ rich. But due to some awful circumstances he had to endure with his parents, he is also a crusader for troubled women. He has his own past demons that he uses as a shield to only take what he wants from the women in his life; just sex, no relationships, no love. It’s quite sad really. Everyone needs a caring touch, a loving embrace. Of course, everything in his carefully constructed life starts to crumble when he lets Goldie in. This terrifies him. Will he be able to hold on to her?

The cast of characters are rounded out with a sexually charged relationship between Goldie and Jett’s right hand man, Kace. I’m telling you, whew doggy, the chemistry there is HOT. As well as Goldie’s “relationship” with Rex, before she meets Jett of course. Let me just say, this girl is crazy lucky to be surrounded by hot as hell men who swoon over her!

There are some special tidbits that I didn’t touch on in this review because I want you to discover the beauty of being a Jett Girl all on your own. This is a must read; an amazing start to a new series. I cannot wait for book two.

This was a story about a young woman named Marlene who fell in love with a young musician called Luke and ended up getting pregnant. She had always thought that Luke would stick by her side, but terrified of being a dad so young and wanting to fulfil his dream of becoming a famous rockstar he leaves Marlene before their little one is born and wouldn’t return till 4 years later. Would Luke finally be the man Marlene needed him to be? Would Luke finally be a dad to their child Nil? And even if he does will Marlene allow him the chance to rectify his mistakes and be a part of their lives again?

“The problem was, Luke wasn’t a man you could get out of your system. Once you got a taster, you lusted for more.”

I had a real love-hate relationship with this book, not so much hate actually but more annoyance. It had all the perfect ingredients to be a great story and there definitely were some great aspects but it just fell short for me.

I LOVED the plot and the idea of the story. A good romance with the slight rocker aspect and an adorable little child. A heartbreak that needs to be mended and a man ready to prove he is worthy and ready to be a husband and dad. It was a great romance and it kept me entertained with elements such as: Will they? Won’t they? Nil, who was the cutest little girl and played a big role within the story and finally the other little parts of the story such as Fin trying hard to keep Marlene and wondering if he would succeed, along with Marlene’s hilarious grandmother.

“In all seriousness though, your perfect exactly how you are. I can’t believe I walked out on the best thing that has ever happened to me.”

However I sometimes found the writing style just didn’t suit me. I didn’t enjoy the story as much as I should have and I believe that was down to the style of writing and the flow of the story which just didn’t work 100% for me. I also didn’t like how quickly it all seemed to be solved at the very end. I also would have loved more of the story to be about Luke’s rockstar lifestyle considering the title is “Love of a Rockstar.” I did enjoy the characters but I didn’t feel massively connected to them either and again I think this was one of the reasons why I couldn’t fully enjoy the story.

There is definitely potential here and I finished this book and was quite happy to, like I said the plot was entertaining and the characters enjoyable and that’s why I give it 3.5. Just more development of characters and maybe a look into the flow of writing and the author is definitely onto some great work.
I look forward to reading more and seeing how she progresses.

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. Let me start by saying that I read A LOT. IF I am not working or being a mom, I am reading. And I think that is why when I read this book, I felt like I had read it before. To me it is a great story of finding oneself mixed with a little mystery and drama, but it stops short because it feels like a rerun.

Ann has lost everything, her parents, her boyfriend, and moves to a town and denies herself love for over 7 years. Duane (I had a little issue with the name, I keep thinking of “The Rock”) is a farmer/lawyer/singer who literally runs into Ann at a bar. One thing leads to another and Duane shows up at Ann’s house to represent her in the case regarding the death of her father.

The character development for Ann was great, but I wanted more about Duane. He seemed so rugged and loved farm-life, but I wanted to know why he picked law school, when he hated it so much.

The book was told in 2 points of view, which I always like, but it needed more! I wanted more interactions between Ann and Duane, and we needed to hear more from Ann’s bestie Liv! I did find the tension between Ann and Duane very evolving and felt like a real relationship that was condensed from a 3 year courtship down to a week. I mean I think true love and love at first site exists, but getting engaged after a week might be a little too much!

Wow.  I really enjoyed Unconditional Love.  Lark suffered a huge loss at a young age and has decided to distance himself from love.  Only using women for pleasure, never for anything more.

Until  he meets Azurdee.  He cannot seem to stay away from her or stop himself from wanting more than just one night.  He is drawn in by Azurdee’s innocence and pure goodness.  He wants her and she wants him but Lark  has a dangerous secret that could destroy everything.

OK, I really liked this angsty book but I just gotta say this; holy smokes, this book was sexy.  Like super and crazily sexy.  Lark is very romantic and sweet, but man could he dirty talk.  Lark has that special tortured alpha-dirty thing going on that makes book boyfriends so special.

“I love you baby, and I want to make this special, but right now, I need to fuck you.  Hard.”

I really did love Azurdee.  First of all, she has such a cool kick-ass country girl name.  Secondly, she is too kind and good.  Always giving Lark the benefit of the doubt and just generally being a loving and supportive person; exactly what Lark needs in his life to move on and move forward.

I also enjoyed meeting the rest of  Larks family and getting introduced to Tristan and Ryn.  I just know their story is going to be explosive.  Loved this book!  Cannot wait for the next.
