About NEVER BEEN READY:
Years after suffering the tragic loss of her husband, Ethan, which left her alone to raise their young daughter, Clare Murray still holds the last letter he wrote with the words “When You’re Ready” written in his familiar messy handwriting, unable to break its weathered seal. Ready for what? He was her entire world, and Clare had accepted a life without him, without love. Until years later, fate brings her to an emergency room, and face to face with a stormy-eyed doctor intent on changing her mind.

Son of a billionaire, Logan Matthews has spent his life trying to make his absentee father proud. Without a family to depend on, all he’s ever wanted is a place to call home. After a failed marriage, Logan believes he’s unworthy of love…until he meets a woman who awakens his spirit and transforms his entire life in an instant.

But how far are Clare and Logan willing to go for love? Can his love mend the pieces of her grieving heart?

When their love is tested, is Clare ready to put her whole heart on the line again? Can Logan learn the true meaning of love, even if it means sacrificing his own happiness? When a second chance at love is given, Clare and Logan learn you are never truly ready until you’re ready to risk it all.

About WHEN YOU’RE READY:
Leah Morgan was done with men. After barely surviving a horrendous childhood, and a boyfriend who bailed when things got rough, Leah had given up on love. Then she met him, Hollywood’s new golden boy who suddenly had eyes only for her. She tried to convince herself that one night couldn’t hurt, but after six months, the memories of his mesmerizing gaze and searing touch still invaded her every thought.

Declan James had just one rule when it came to women. Keep it simple, and never linger. That all changed the moment he met Leah. Even across a crowded bar, he could tell she was different. Sweet, with just the right amount of sass, she made him break his golden rule and now he couldn’t walk away.

When casual becomes anything but, and emotions run deep, will Leah and Declan fight their fears, or let old insecurities tear them apart? When Declan’s past comes roaring back in a way neither of them could have expected, will they stand united or be torn apart by the challenges that lie ahead?

It was only supposed to be one night, but only forever will do.

5 SMOOCHES AND THEN SOME !!!!!!

I’m going to start by saying OMG OMG OMG AND HOLY MOLY AND WOW !!!

I loved this book. LOVED LOVED LOVED

Can you say book hangover??!!

This is a story about Brittan, a young girl who meets her soul mate Cane, at a very young age. They fall in love. They are beautiful together! Cane loves her like no man could ever love his woman and Brittan loves him the same. The emotion behind it is overwhelming. Then tragedy strikes. I can honestly say, I really do NOT cry over books … sure I feel but they really do not bring me to actual tears. It’s just not me. Doesn’t mean I don’t love my books, just isn’t in my DNA, I guess, to be a cryer. I’ve only cried actually tears over a book maybe 2 or 3 times. Well, Danielle Jamie has wrecked me. WRECKED ME !!! I still cry when I think of the tragedy scene. It was so well written and so emotional and heartfelt.

In walks Jordon Finger F**king Valentine. All rocker, bad boy, tattooed hottie. Can you say yum?! Yeah well Brittan thought so too. But She isn’t over her loss and may never be. But the attraction between the two is undeniable. And what starts out as a hook up, becomes just a little bit more, and then a little bit more. Brittan tries to deny it but it’s really not something deniable. And as the reader, you can feel her turmoil, you can feel his nervousness because he wants her so badly for more than just a random hook up but he’s afraid to push her and lose her forever. Danielle Jamie gave me that in my heart. I felt what the characters felt. The story was so well written and so heartfelt that I don’t know how I’m going to get over it and move on to my next reading victim.

I felt every stage of pain Brittan went through with her loss, and how she fought through after 8 years of struggling and trying to forget, and found her way to Jordon, with a little help from Cane.

The grammar was good and I know first hand, typing errors is first and foremost on the authors mind and she reads and re-reads to be sure she is giving the fans the best reading material she can.

I don’t know how to express how sad, happy, and emotionally charged this story made me. For me, it was just an unbelievably fabulous read !!

I give this book a billion smooches and absolutely recommend reading it.

Exclusive First Look:

Georgia glanced back at the house.  With the kitchen light on, she could see Eric standing by the sink, looking out the window.  She had a long list of fantasies that started and ended with Eric.  She was dying to strip him out of his business suits and run her hands over the muscles built from years of working alongside his crews.  She wanted to taste him, exploring every inch of his body, and witness the expression on his piercing blue eyes when he lost himself in pleasure.

But did she have the guts to approach him?  To go to his room, his bed?  To push him to act on the desire written all over his face?

She wiggled her toes in the cold grass.  She was alive.  She could do anything.  She had to cling to that, remind herself over and over.  Otherwise it would feel as if her world had slipped away because she’d been too weak to hold on.

Her bare feet touched the dock and she broke into a run, knowing he was watching.  At the end of the wooden planks, she dove into the water.  The cold shocked her senses.  Her lungs contracted and her limbs went numb.  But she didn’t fight it.  The water was like an ice-cold barrier against her memories.  The images of the men and women being blown to pieces, the feeling of her friend’s lifeless body in her arms as she tried to drag him to safety—it all froze in the pond’s cold depths.

Georgia swam deeper, pushing herself further, knowing she required air.  But part of her needed this more.  Finally, her lungs screaming, she kicked her way back to the top.

When she surfaced, her bikini bottom floated beside her.  She reached behind her head and pulled on the strings, freeing her breasts from the top.  Tossing both pieces onto the dock, she glanced back at the house.  Eric stood in the window watching her, his expression grim.  Georgia gave a little wave and dove back under.

The water felt good, but knowing she planned to go after what she wanted felt even better.  She swam deeper, faster.  He might turn her away.  Eric was steadfast and loyal.  His moral compass would probably balk at going to bed with his employee, never mind the fact that her brother was his best friend and the number two at his company.  Could desire override all of that?

She pushed back to the surface for another breath of air, clinging to the hope that the answer would be yes.  Either way, she’d find out tonight.

~ Synopsis ~

“On the verge of tears at certain points, only to have that chased away by excitement bubbling in my throat and a squeal threatening to break free of my control. The author took me on a journey I never expected. While most romance novels have the usual plot points, this one will surprise you.I started reading this book, not expecting anything spectacular. Just a run of the mill romance novel. I don’t think I’ve ever been more surprised by what I found. I love the way the author captured the emotions of the characters and laid their hearts bare to the readers. Break Me is bound to shine in the romance genre, with a new take on love and relationships.” -Night Owl Reviews, March 2014

Abigail Stevens, an efficient and no-nonsense editor for one of the biggest names in the romance novel industry, has a big problem. She’s been desperately in love with Anthony Tate, Mr. Romance-Writer himself, for the last four years. She’s settled for friendship and professional success for the last four years, but now the sexy writer needs something more from her and she can’t find a reason to refuse.

Tony Tate has built a career centered on his identity as America’s most romantic writer. That identity does not include a debauched temper tantrum in the aftermath of his very public break-up with his on-again, off-again girlfriend. Tony has known that Abby has had the hots for him since the moment they met, but when his Plain Jane best friend and controlling editor ends up being his only option to exorcise his demons and pent-up sexual frustration, he can’t wait to break her prim and proper shell.

As Tony and Abby push each other farther than they’ve ever gone before, the question becomes, who will break whom?

The Love Interest: Why I Love to Hate Tony

What do you think makes the best love interest? This is one of the hardest questions to answer for me. Why, you ask? Well, I like real characters. That means that who they are and what they look like can be vastly different from one book to the next. And I love them all. But, okay, I’ll admit it: There are some things I look for.

Anthony Tate, or Tony, is the main character of my novel, Break Me. For me, he’s the perfect example of what I look for in a hero. The original idea for Tony, physically, was inspired by my never-ending adoration for Jeremy Renner, Robert Downey, Jr., Sakurai Sho, and Darren Criss. Clearly Tony was meant to be dark and handsome. As far as physical characteristics go, I like my love interests to be as vibrant as their personalities. It’s not that I have a thing for dark-haired guys (full disclosure: I so do), it’s just that I like their physical characteristics to manifest their personalities. Hey, that’s a benny of being a writer!

The biggest requirement for me, though, is that my characters have to struggle with a major life issue. I think it’s a generally accepted truth that people show their true colors, and reveal their deepest desires and motivations, when they’re under pressure. For me, the love interest needs to be in that pressure cooker. I want the good, the bad, and the ugly to come out.

It’s easy enough to call the love interests in the romance genre “fairy tales;” I’m more interested writing about, and showing, real men and women dealing with honest and true reactions. Tony is far from a fairy tale, but he is a fantastic love interest. Love and War are pretty much the same coin, right?

Excerpt

“Tony,” Abby was so tired she could barely breathe, “what do you want from me?”

“I want you to explain how you disappeared without a word after four years. I thought we were more to each other than that. At least friends.”

“Did you? Did you really?” Abby’s voice rose to a furious whisper, her shoulders tense. “Well, I didn’t disappear. I left. There’s a difference.”

“Really? I must have missed the memo you sent out saying sayonara.” Tony was glaring at her, reclined on the couch.

“What right do you have to be mad? I’m the one–” Abby snapped her lips together.

“You were the one who what?” Tony eased up on one arm and waited.

“I’m the one who got swept aside like a piece of trash! I’m the one who…who…was an absolute idiot for thinking we were ever anything at all!” Abby felt like venom was seething painfully out of her body making it impossible for her to stop. “I’m the one who fell in love with a man I couldn’t have! I’m the one who was used!”

“That’s bullshit, Abby.” Tony said it calmly. “You ran away. You didn’t give me a chance to talk about any of this. You are not a piece of trash and if you call yourself that again, you’ll regret it.”

“What’s the point of this Tony? Please, just leave me alone. I’m sorry, okay? I’m sorry I ever…ever thought,” Abby started crying, the sobs pressing the air from her lungs.

“Abby.” Tony was there, pulling her against him and wrapping his arms around her. She was surrounded by him and she couldn’t make herself break free. His warmth seeped into her and his scent enveloped her. It felt like the safest and most dangerous place she could ever be. She cried for what felt like forever. “Abby, the point is that I don’t want to leave you alone. I made a mistake. I know that. I never meant to hurt you. I never meant to make you think you were trash. Can you believe that?”

Autumn Stark writes Erotic Romance with a sense of humor and a whole lotta steamy fun. Doesn’t mean there aren’t a few whips every now and then, but she’s a sucker for a happy ending. Autumn has been writing in one capacity or another her entire life, but Break Me is her debut novel.

Goodreads:

Six Words to Describe Break Me

Sexy: Tony and Abby push the limits of their relationship and, often, our comfort zone.

Despite that, Tony exudes sexuality and Abby struggles to fit sex into the same frame

with love. What starts as an erotic interlude between two consenting adults, turns into a

game of love neither of them are sure they can play.

Emotional: Abby can’t pin hers down. Despite her very logical decision (not) to

simply be with Tony and be what he needs, she can’t control that aspect of herself. No

matter what he thinks, neither can Tony. It’s a win-win-holy-crap-is-this-losing situation.

What Tony wants is anything but emotion–or so he thinks. Tony doesn’t know what he

wants. Abby does and that’s part of the problem. We ride the waves of her emotions

right into Tony’s downfall.

Complicated: Nothing is easy in Break Me. The lines are blurred–for the characters

and for the readers. What is just sex and what is just love? Can they coexist? When

is consensual sex just using? How does it turn from steamy to cold? Abby is stuck in

an incredibly complicated web of choices and emotions while Tony has no idea what

it is he’s supposed to be feeling. He’s all kinds of mixed-up which only makes him and

his life more difficult. In trying to be who he thinks he’s supposed to be, Tony ends

up becoming exactly who he didn’t want to become. It’s all about consequences and

choice.

Romantic: Despite being an extremely sexy and edgy ride, Break Me is also

romantic. There are realistic moments in the rocky waves of their relationship where

romance does blossom. Tony’s attempt to become a better man is born out of love and

awkwardness. Abby’s desperation to make things work (and then to free herself) are

the groundwork for the sexiness to slide into the romance of the story. While the story is

based in sex, it ultimately begs the question: what does love look like?

Satisfying: Abby gets it. Body and soul. Despite the struggles Abby goes through

with Tony ( oh boy, is there a struggle between her mind and her body), she ultimately

achieves satisfaction in getting exactly what she wants when she least expects it. The

story starts off complicated and uncomfortable–for all involved–, but by the end, all is

well. The lessons are learned, the love is there, and the hope has blossomed.

Spicy: The sex is. This is not your ordinary love scene…well, slew of love scenes.

Tony and Abby are sensual and edgy in their sexuality. While Tony makes no apologies

for it, Abby is willing to discover what this means for her. What results is a no-holds-

barred look into the battle between sex, love, control, and saving grace.

Review

Abigail Stephens is responsible for the success of author Anthony Tate. Working for a publishing company and assigned to Tony, Abby goes above and beyond to make him a household name. Abby built the empire of Mr. Romance in 4 years and is extremely dedicated to her job. Hiding behind the love of her job, Abby has loved Tony from the first time they met. Sadly Mr. Tate is oblivious, taking what he wants when he wants it is the norm for this best selling author. A turn of events opens the door for these two. Even though both promised nothing during their sex-capades, feelings come to surface from both Abby and Tony. Realizing he doesn’t want to lose Abby he steps out of his norm and defies his stereotypes.
The read was slightly predictable and quick. For example, Tony turns his interest toward the bimbo that is familiar with fame, prenups and doesn’t want kids. Then later realizing the one he wants was always around in the first place, Abby. And as the plot thickened, Abby did go back and forth a lot in her dilemma. One minute she loved Tony, then the next she hated him, then love again, then used him like no other. So brace yourself for that bit of the book. Another hiccup in my review is the format in which the book was given to me to review. There were page breaks with BREAK ME and AUTUMN STARK randomly. I switched fonts and font size and it didn’t seem to fix it. There would also be random spaces in dialogue and I had to pay attention to where the quotations began and ended. In their defense it may just be the format. Apart from those things, I did like the book. I would recommend this book to the working mothers that want to escape for a few hours. Personally I am looking forward to All In, book 2 in the In Plain Sight Series since my favorite outspoken character of Jay can get his chance at love. 3.5 Smooches for Break Me by Autumn Stark.

Learn more about Barbara!

Writing as art, and how I learned to embrace my artistry.
First, let me say that I come from an extremely talented family. There are any number of gifted and recognized painters and sculptors lurking in the limbs of my family tree. My grandfather is a well-known painter, my uncle, mother, brother. Me? I can’t draw a box to climb out of!  So, with this in mind it’s easy to understand how I grew up thinking I had zero creative talent.
And yet – I’ve crafted stories as long as I can remember. As a young girl I would write plays and act them out with my friends, as a (typical) teenager, I filled stacks of notebooks with poems and short stories. As a young adult, I gifted (LOL) family members with stories I’d written. Lying in bed on any given night, unable to sleep, I would spin fantasies and makeup tales to help me sleep.  I still do.

It wasn’t until recently (that being a relative term) that I began to seriously consider the craft I practiced as a creative, artistic outlet.  My husband had been nagging me (really – no nice way to put it) to write a book and I finally took him up on it. I wrote my first book over a couple of months; did some basic editing and sent it around to friends, family and relatives.
They loved it. They praised it. They commented on my artistry and creativity. I sat there with my mouth open, dumb-founded. Me, creative? Artistic? Really?  As much as I’ve loved the written/spoken word, as much as I’ve appreciated the craft and talent of other writers, I couldn’t see the same attributes in my own work. I couldn’t connect my own ability to develop a pleasing piece of prose with that of Steinbeck, Faulkner or Whitman. I could not think of myself as an artist.

But I was. I am. I will always be.

The first book hasn’t gone anywhere. It needs a woeful amount of revising before it’s ready for public consumption, but it taught me so much! I’ve learned I have a unique voice and I need to not only trust in it, but to give it free rein. I’ve learned I have stories to tell that people want to hear, and I should follow my gut when deciding what to write. And it taught me to polish, polish, polish until it shines so bright you need sunglasses to read it, then set it adrift in the universe of publishing.

Because art is meant to be seen, whether on the wall, on film or on the written page.
What’s your writing process?
Hmmm – there really is no process. I’ve often referred to my writing style as “verbal vomit,” (sorry for the gross analogy)! When the story hits and takes hold, there’s almost nothing I can do to stop it. I have to capture all the words as the spill out. I’ve learned the hard way to capture the story when it hits – and have been known to jump out of bed in the middle of the night and jot down those flashes of insight – or risk losing the thought.
When and where do you write?
Hah! Good question. I have an office at home and I usually climb into it after work each night and most of the weekends. I refer to it as “the cave,” though it’s quite nice and sunny. Finding time is hard. I have a (more than) full time job, try to hit the gym 4 or 5 days a week and am clinging desperately to what social life I had! Family always comes first, of course, but I will admit there are times I resent not curling up with my characters. My poor husband caters to my idiosyncrasies and never complains when I neglect him – though he has a right to!
Speaking of your husband, you’ve said he’s the inspiration for all your heroes. How and Why?
Well, besides the fact that they are all tall, dark haired and incredibly handsome – all of my heroes are strong, gentle and affectionate. They don’t super-impose their needs and wants on the main characters – instead they support and encourage the independence of the women they love. That’s my husband – and that inspires me. I don’t think it would have been possible for me to accomplish all that I have – personally, professionally and as an author – if it were not for him. I’m one lucky gal!
Where do you get your stories and characters?
Oh, geeze – stories and characters are all around us! Sometimes it’s something that’s happening right in front of me, sometimes it’s just an interesting person or conversation. I try and take ordinary events and people and place them in unusual circumstance, which means I spend a lot of time asking myself “what if?” and then following where it leads. I’m frequently surprised where the story does go, being a complete Pantster!
Even as a Pantster, you must have some idea where a story is going in order to write a complete trilogy. How do you do it?
I do have the story ARC laid out in my head and I’ll usually scribble some general notes for specific scenes I want to include, but those are very rough and often won’t make it into the final version. I like to let my characters drive the story, and I like to put them in predicaments they have to find their own way out of. Book 2 of the Phasms trilogy (coming Fall, 2014) was the perfect example of what happens when your characters come to life: Kelsi and Bryn ended up hijacking everything I thought was going to happen. The last scene in book 2 remains the same as I’d originally envisioned it, but everything between the beginning and ending was a complete surprise.
