REVIEW:

Devney Perry’s Crimson River is the fifth novel in the family saga romance series, The Edens. A breathtakingly intense and deeply emotional romance, I was on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Perry’s masterful storytelling shines through in this captivating tale of secrets and intrigue and steamy romance. I was completely enthralled by the richly developed characters and the gripping mystery unfolding against the backdrop of a small Montana town.

Lyla Eden, the owner of the local Quincy coffee shop, is a hardworking, down-to-earth and driven woman focused on her business. Vance Sutter, an Idaho police officer, is on the hunt for a murderer, and the trail leads him to Quincy and Lyla. He’s spent the last four years hunting this fugitive, and he’s not looking for anything other than this man. Lyla is the last person to have encountered him, and Vance ends up in Quincy to continue the hunt. Perry expertly weaves together their stories, unraveling their secrets and exposing their vulnerabilities in a way that kept me utterly engrossed in the story. The chemistry between Lyla and Vance is electrifying, and their emotional journey was portrayed with depth and authenticity, evoking a range of emotions from heartache to hope.

Perry’s evocative prose effortlessly transported me to the small town of Quincy, and she skillfully balanced the romance and mystery plot arcs, creating a perfect blend of passion and suspense. I was hanging on every word as the twists and turns of the plot unfolded, and their “for now” relationship slowly morphs into forever. Perry’s impeccable storytelling, complex characters, the steamy romance and an expertly crafted plot made this a completely unputdownable read. I am counting the days until the next book in this series! Five smooches from me for Crimson River by Devney Perry!

The fur is about to fly between a cheerful cat sitter and a grumpy hockey nerd in this hilarious and charming rom-com from New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting.

Kitty Hart has become internet famous as the Kitty Whisperer for her expertise on all things feline, and as a result, her cat-sitting business is booming. But lately, she has a terrible feeling that maybe her life isn’t quite going where it’s supposed to—especially after falling face-first into her newest client. Not exactly the best first impression.

Fortunately, Miles Thorn is just as bad at first impressions. Strike one: he doesn’t like cats, especially Prince Francis, the haughty and mischievous Sphynx his mom left in his care. Strike two: tackling her to the floor in a misguided attempt to save the pet he continually calls “the gremlin.”

As awkwardness slides into attraction and things start to turn purr-sonal, will these two complete opposites ever be able to find their furry-tail ending?

Chapter One

THE KITTY WHISPERER

Miles

“I can’t believe this is real.” I stare in mild disbelief at the top trending advertisement on my computer screen for several seconds before I move my cursor to hover over the website name. I’m afraid that what’s being advertised and what will pop up when I click the link are two very different things. I squeeze one eye shut and narrow the other, already expecting the worst.

A knock on my office door has me accidentally clicking the link instead of closing the window.

“The Kitty Whisperer?” Thankfully it’s not my boss. It’s my best friend and colleague, Josh Halpern.

I spin around, eyes wide. “Wanna say that a little louder? I don’t think Tom at the end of the hall heard you.”

He steps into my office and closes the door, one eyebrow raised as he surveys the space.

It’s a small office, but it has a window. The view is of the side of the building next door, but it opens, so that’s nice. And it’s better than my last job, where I worked in what we affectionately called the dungeon. Three other guys and I had cubicles in the basement. It was next to the laundry room, and noisy, and sometimes it smelled a bit funky, unless the laundry was on the dryer cycle. Then it was hot, but at least it smelled like dryer sheets.

“Uh, dude, unless you’re actively looking to get your ass fired during your first month, you probably shouldn’t be checking those sites at work.”

“It’s a cat-sitting service, not one of those sites. And to be clear, I would not willfully use the company server for that kind of browsing.”

Josh is the reason I have this job, and I don’t want to do anything to make him look bad. Or get myself fired before I even have a chance to prove I’m an asset to the team. We’re heading into the regular NHL season, and my role as a data analyst is to run player stats and help management know when to use players to maximize performance.

“You just gotta be careful, man,” he warns. “You’re new, and any non-work-related browsing should be limited to nonwork hours. Management is pretty strict about that.”

I motion toward the cup of ramen noodles in front of me. “It’s my lunch break, so I figured it would be okay.”

“Oh. Well, you don’t have to eat lunch at your desk.”

“I know. I just needed to get this situation managed, so I was killing two birds with one stone.”

“What situation is that?” He steps up beside me and leans in closer to get a better look at my screen, his face scrunching in confusion. “Is this for real?”

“It certainly seems that way, yes.” The website has an overwhelming number of cat videos. And there’s a meowing soundtrack in the background that takes all of five seconds to become grating. I turn down the volume.

“Why are you on this site?” He raises a hand in front of his face as a space cat gif cycles every five seconds. It’s a lot. “Dude, can you do something, like click to another screen? I’m getting a headache from all the flashing.”

I click on one of the social media icons, navigating away from the website.

“Kitty Hart? A hundred thousand followers? That can’t be her real name,” Josh mutters. “It must be a gimmick.” He steals the mouse from me and clicks on the individual images, apparently no longer concerned about the inappropriate use of my work computer. It’s understandable, since this is an alluring albeit strange rabbit hole to fall into. The first picture is a closeup of “Kitty” holding a…you guessed it…kitty. A tiny one with a smooshed-in face.

Kitty—the human—smiles widely at the camera, apparently unconcerned about the awkward angle of the selfie, so we’re essentially looking right into the black holes of her nostrils. Regardless, the image has seven thousand likes and nearly four hundred comments, most of which are positive with lots of heart eyes and people telling her they love her.

“Why are you creeping on this woman?”

Prologue

I Know

Wyn

“You…have a place?”

“Apartment, yeah,” he grunted.

“You’ve rented an apartment.”

It was a statement, and the pain in it was not veiled.

Hearing it was why my husband of nineteen years looked from placing some of his folded T-shirts into one of his Tumi cases, to me.

His next wasn’t a grunt, it was gentle and sweet, and butchering when he repeated, “Yeah.” “So, we’re done,” I said tonelessly.

He straightened from his packing, “Wyn—”

“Like so much else in our lives, you have decided we’re done.”

His beautiful, full lips thinned.

But he didn’t answer.

The suitcase on our bed that he was packing, the leather bag he used for weekenders already crammed full, zipped shut and sitting on the floor, his workout bag the same, the Tumi carry-on the same, his empty part of the closet and currently emptying drawers…

These were his answer.

“There’s no talking about this? Working this out?” I asked.

“We’ve talked ad nauseam. We’ve—”

I leaned his way and grated out, “Nineteen fucking years, Remy. You’re just throwing that away?”

I could see immediately he was getting angry (I mean, it was actually twenty-one fucking years, including dating, engagement, so of course I would). “I’m not throwing dick away, Wyn.”

I glanced pointedly at each bag that told a different tale.

“You never took a goddamn thing I said seriously,” he noted.

Okay, now I was getting angry.

“Are you insane?” I demanded.

“Were you in California last weekend?” he asked.

I felt my hair sway as my back went ramrod straight.

“I asked you not to go, you went,” he bit out.

“You told me not to go, and it was work, I couldn’t not go. So yes, I went.”

“You can do whatever the fuck you want, Wyn, you own the goddamned company. That includes saying no and sending someone else.”

“And how, precisely, do I say no to Fiona Remington?”

“You open your mouth and form the letters n and o.”

I stood there, staring at the man I’d shared a bed with for decades, the father of my three children, and I felt cold creep over my skin.

“I’m on the cover of the top magazine in my business, for fuck’s sake,” he stated. “On it for winning that award this weekend, and my daughter was my date because my wife was kissing ass in Hollywood.”

That cold grew icy.

“You don’t want to do this, Remy,” I warned. “There’s no coming back from this.”

“Of course I don’t want to do this, Wyn,” he spat. “But you’ve given me no choice.”

Oh no, he did not.

I swung an arm out to the Tumi. “So this is on me?”

“The city of fucking Phoenix gave me an award, Wyn, and you were not here.”

“The highest-paid, most critically acclaimed actor in Hollywood asked me to style her for awards season, Remy, and she had this one window to sit down for a consultation before she’s off to Algiers to begin a punishing three-month shoot, and she won’t step foot on American soil until two days before the award shows begin. So I needed to be there.”

“Yeah,” he said, the finality in that syllable like a crush of stones landing on my head. “You did.”

After he spoke those words, he walked back to the dresser and emptied the drawer.

As he shoved the tees in with the others, I whispered, “There’s no coming back from this, Remy.”

He didn’t look at me as he flipped the suitcase shut, zipped it, and then tugged it from the bed.

Only when he had both bags over his shoulders, the suitcases tipped to their wheels—strong and fit, my rugby-playing husband, he didn’t seem weighed down at all with a representation of our entire life hanging off his shoulders—did his eyes find mine so he could give me an answer.

And that answer was not his words.

“I know.”

That answer was my tall, strong, handsome husband walking out our bedroom door.

EXCERPT:

NEW PRINCESS, NEW PROPOSAL

The editors of the highly esteemed Torskethorpe Daily are pleased to announce that we had the distinct pleasure of sitting down with Her Royal Highness, Princess Lilija, and our soon-to-be Prince, Keller Fitzwilliam, about their recent engagement, their loving relationship, and the future of Torskethorpe. From our perspective, Torskethorpe is in good hands.

TD: Thank you so much for sitting down with us. We want to first offer our congratulations on your recent engagement. If you can’t tell already, the country is ecstatic and has been celebrating for the past four days. I know our readers want to know the details, but let’s get started with how you met.

HRH: Thank you. We’re excited too. It all feels so surreal, but then again, so has this journey. One day, I was in Miami, selling bathing suits while in a bikini when Keller came up to me and said . . . I’m the last heir to the throne in a country called Torskethorpe. It was the beginning of a fairy tale for us.

TD: So, Keller, you’re the one who went to retrieve our treasured Princess Lilija?

KF: Yes. I was working for King Theodore at the time as his private secretary. He trusted me not only to retrieve Princess Lilija but also to educate her about our country and culture.

TD: That must have been a culture shock.

HRH: To say the least. But with every day that passed, it felt like I was coming home. I kept having these flashbacks to my mom and the traditions we shared that I had no idea belonged to this country. I might have been an outsider, but truly, on the inside, this country was running through my veins.

TD: We love that. And the people of this country can see it. You’re such a warm, welcoming soul, and you truly are an embodiment of King Theodore and Queen Katla. And from what we’ve heard, they’re more than thrilled about your engagement. Tell us a little bit about it.

HRH: I’ll let Keller tell that story. He planned it, after all.

KF: When we first brought Princess Lilija to Torskethorpe, we had to keep her a secret because we didn’t want to get the country’s hopes up about a possible heir. We took her to Harrogate. This is where we stayed for weeks, educating the princess on the country and its culture.

HRH: And where I fell in love with not only Torskethorpe but also with Keller.

KF: When I decided to propose, I knew there was only one place I wanted to take her. I told her about an art exhibition at Harrogate and took her down to the castle, only to surprise her with a rooftop proposal, one of the first places I knew Princess Lilija was meant to be in my life forever.

TD: Princess Lilija, were you surprised?

HRH: Very much so. I had no idea. I thought we were going to go watch people paint the castle and landscape, and when Keller took me to the roof, I immediately started crying. It was an easy yes for me. I couldn’t imagine marrying anyone else.

TD: Do you have a wedding date yet? I know it’s soon, but the readers will want to know.

HRH: Not yet, but I believe the wedding will be sooner rather than later . . . at least that’s what I’ve been told.

KF: [Keller kisses the back of Princess Lilija’s hand] The sooner the better for me.

TD: Are you planning a traditional Torskethorpian wedding?

HRH: I plan on honoring this country as much as I can when it comes to our marriage and what my future role has for me.

TD: And are you ready to take on your future role? The Queen of Torskethorpe?

HRH: [gazes lovingly at Keller] I know with Keller by my side, I’ll be ready for anything that comes my way.

I toss the paper to the side, disgust on the edge of my tongue.

“Going to be ready for anything that comes her way? Doubtful,” I say as I glance up at Pickering, my assistant. “I need you to get me in touch with Magnus.”

Pickering’s eyes widen in question. “His Royal Highness Magnus?” he asks.

“Yes.” I lean back in my desk chair. “Something needs to be done about this engagement, and I know he’s the exact person to help me.”

Pickering nods, turns away from my desk, and heads out of my office. I stare at the happy smiles of the newly engaged couple. Lilija looks just like her mum. It’s almost sickening how close they resemble each other. And Keller . . . how was he able to wiggle his way into the future queen’s pants?

Seems convenient.

Seems calculated.

Seems like I have no other choice but to do something about it.

Because over my dead body will Keller Fitzwilliam lead Torskethorpe.

REVIEW:

Royally in Trouble is the much anticipated sequel to Meghan Quinn’s first royal romance, Royally Not Ready. It picks up where Royally Not Ready left off with Lilly and Keller planning their wedding. Quinn’s storytelling swept me up into their whirlwind romance with a story that was sexy, amusing and a bit suspenseful. I was utterly charmed by these endearing characters, the enchanting setting, and the electric chemistry that lept off the page.

This story centers around the royal relationship between Princess Lilly, an ordinary woman who finds herself thrust into life as the only heir to the throne of Torskethrope, and Keller, the moody, broody, loyal right-hand man to the King who is struggling with the idea that he’s marrying above his station. Quinn’s vivid descriptions bring this opulent world to life, immersing readers in royal grandeur and romance. The sparkling banter and blazing passion between Keller and Lilly created wonderful tension that kept me furiously tapping my Kindle as I practically inhaled this book. As is always the case, Quinn’s writing style is engaging, witty and rich with heartfelt emotion. There was a bit more angst and drama in this half of Lilly and Keller’s story, but Quinn struck a perfect balance by blending that with humorous mishaps, steamy encounters and tender moments.

Royally in Trouble was a charming and captivating romance that will whisked me off on a royal adventure. Meghan Quinn’s skillful storytelling, lovable characters, and captivating romance make this book an unputdownable pleasure to read. Five smooches from me for Royally in Trouble in by Meghan Quinn!

RELEASE BLITZ: Royally in Trouble by Meghan Quinn

ROYALLY IN TROUBLE, the highly anticipated, sexy and suspenseful sequel to the bestselling royal romance Royally Not Ready from USA Today Bestselling Author, Meghan Quinn, is available now!

I keep telling myself, it’ll all work out… but now I’m not sure we’re going to make it out of this alive.

I have two responsibilities as the new heir to the throne:

1. Get married.
2. Have babies.

Sure, becoming queen one day is part of those new responsibilities, but as long as King Theo is in charge, I don’t have to add a coronation to my list.

That’s why I find myself in the throes of wedding planning, pre-wedding classes with my broody, over-protective fiancé, and counting down the days until we can finally say I do.

But with every day we grow closer to our wedding, we seem to grow apart.

Our commonalities are tested.
Our faith in each other is questioned.
And our safety is threatened.
The only thing working? The command he has over me in the bedroom.

I keep telling myself, it’ll all work out. We just need to make it to the wedding day. Except, when the day finally comes, everything falls apart.

We might have made it through the last few months together, but now I’m not sure we’re going to make it out of this alive.

Looks like I’m about to get double pucked. Again…

A jilted book nerd, a plan for sweet revenge, and the two hockey stars who volunteer as her tributes…

When I discover my boyfriend is cheating on me, I move out right away taking what I love most – my dog. As I fly out the door, I make sure to swipe the thing my ex loves best. The VIP tickets he won to a hockey game, complete with the chance to spend an evening with the city’s two biggest NHL stars.

I can’t wait to snap selfies with my ex’s idols and rub it in his face.

Except, when I head out with the two hockey studs, they have something else in mind besides sweet revenge. Would I like to spend the night…with both of them?

Talk about the VIP experience. That’s what I get for one knee-weakening, sheet-grabbing night. In the morning, I plan to return to my bestie’s house to crash on her couch with my dog.

But when they learn what happened with my awful ex, they ask me to be their temporary roomie for the week. Oh, and one of them needs my help with his grumpy reputation. The other? Well, he wants me to be his fake date at an upcoming wedding.

Looks like I’m about to get double pucked. Again.

Double Pucked is a roomies to lovers, fake dating, image makeover, super spicy hockey rom com with a guaranteed why-choose style HEA! No swords cross. The two guys are all about HER all throughout! This story is perfect for fans of Lily Gold and Emily Rath!

EXCERPT:

I bend down and Nacho leaps into my lap, tail wagging madly. “Was I gone forever?” I ask him.

With a happy whimper, he licks my face, giving me his yes. “Well, now I’m back, little guy,” I say, then kiss his snout and return him to the couch. Immediately, he burrows his nose into the corner sofa pillow like it’s his new girlfriend. He’s actually rubbing his face against it. “Well, someone is in insta-love,” I remark as I head to the island counter to join the guys, where they’ve set down the takeout food.

Chase hands me a glass of white wine. “Thank you,” I say, drawing a satisfied breath.

This is the life. Mediterranean food. A late-night hang with two fantastic guys. My favorite critter nearby.

But when I take a swallow, I nearly spit up the sauvignon. So much for good behavior. The perfect pup has turned full perv again. Nacho has shoved the couch pillow between his legs and is humping it.

Mortified, I set down the glass, pop up from the stool, and rush over to him. “Nacho, No! Stop now!”

That only motivates him more. He pumps faster. Rocking those doggy hips wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am style. This is so embarrassing. My dog is getting it on with our host’s pillow, and I can only imagine how he’s going to defile it any second. I do not want to clean that up. I will die.

“Go, Nacho!” Chase shouts.

“That’s it, boy! Bring it home,” Ryker catcalls.

“Don’t encourage him,” I beg.

My face flushes beet red as I grab my randy beast, but he clutches the pillow tightly, and I have to wrestle it from his libidinous paws. “We are guests,” I say, admonishing him when I finally free the pillow from his grasp.

Double Pucked is a super spicy MFM hockey rom com written in the why choose style (the heroine doesn’t pick between the two guys and they are all about her!)
