Antonio Spinelli blew through my orderly life like a cyclone.

Gorgeous and passionate, with a breathtaking brutality, he put me under his spell the moment he touched me, drawing me into his underworld of risk, violence and betrayal.

And I discovered, just as this sophisticated savage didn’t trust me, I didn’t trust myself. Something happened to me. Some alchemy from the heat between us.

I discovered I was a savage, too.

I have lied.

I have cheated.

I have given my body and my life to the man who destroyed my family and left me for dead.

I have killed, I have sinned, and worst of all, I have enjoyed the misery of others.

I have licked the salty tears of a father mourning his firstborn son, and nothing has ever tasted so sweet.

I have died, and I have been resurrected, a phoenix from the ashes.

I know I’m going to hell. I’ll burn in the fiery pits alongside Dornan and his sons for the things I’ve done, and for the things I’m about to do.

But I don’t care. It will be worth every lick of the devils flames on my guilty flesh to destroy Dornan Ross.

One down, six to go.

Some people would call me a whore. A girl who sold her soul to the devil. Who let him inside her, with no remorse. Who danced with the monster who destroyed everything.

To those people, I say only this: I didn’t have to sell Dornan Ross my soul. He already owned it. And once I’ve killed him, maybe I can get it back.

When I think about life before Juliette Portland supposedly died, I think of the midday sun, and the way it caught the water, making a million tiny diamonds glisten in the Venice Beach waves. I think of laughter and first kisses, of ice cream, stolen beer, and Ferris wheels.

I think of how much I loved Jason Ross, and how valiantly he fought to protect me when the rest of his family were beating and fucking me to within an inch of my life.

I think about my father, and how whenever he was near, I felt safe, no matter what.

I think about my mother, and how indifferent she was to my existence, to the point where my father was going to take me away from everything, including her, so that we could have a life free of the constant danger that a club like the Gypsy Brothers meant.

I think of how, if he had succeeded, what a wonderful life that would have been.

It’s true what they say—keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Only, they forgot to add: Don’t keep your enemies so close that they can strike without warning. That was my father’s mistake. That was our fatal undoing.

Cain’s Salvation by Sarah O’Rourke

When Dr. Cain Turner’s life was literally blown apart in a small province of Afghanistan, it was only the hope and memories of one woman that propelled him forward. But there were more demons to face.

In the small country hamlet of Paradise, Tennessee…Faith waits. Surrounded by her loving sisters, Faith McKinnon had faced her own demons, having thought that the love of her life had deserted her.

But fate…and a few meddling McKinnon sisters…conspired to bring the two star-crossed lovers together again.

First off, this is a cute story about rediscovered love. Dr. Cain Turner and Faith McKinnon were seperated by war, but they soon find themselves with the opportunity to reconnect. It was a little cliche at times, and a little predictable, but Faith and her sisters each had their own personalities that shown through which made it interesting. All of the names were a bit kitschy, Harmony, Honor, Faith, Patience, Cain and Abel, but again, it didn’t deter from their character development.

I actually wish it was a bit longer, or had a bit more content. On the other hand, the story could have been shortened to a novella and not lose any of the heart. That being said, the story does have a great message. One that many Americans feel everyday; that the war changes our soldiers and they often come back home completely different. It’s important to keep the Faith in your loved ones, and reach out to them during those trying times, and that is one of the messages in Cain’s Salvation.

There were some really hot sex scenes. Ladies, can you say DIRTY TALKER?!?!?! Here is Cain, just getting started after they get back together.

“Oh, I love that sound, Sweetness….I’ve missed hearing how you cry out when I touch you.”  “I’m gonna enjoy making you scream tonight, love. Long and loud.”

It gets pretty steamy after that! Author Sarah O’Rourke does a good job of making you want more, that’s for sure! I want Patience and Abel’s story. Something tells me that it could be very explosive.

Overall, a quick, easy, sweet read with a lot of heart. 4 smooches.

A Rockstar’s Valentine by K.T. Fisher Review

3 Smooches

kis kis kis

As soon as I set eyes on the gorgeous guy who saves me from having to dance with yet another jerk, I thought he would be just like the rest. His bad boy rocker image definitely screamed heart breaker, but I was wrong. Boy was I wrong! Yes, Jax can sometimes act like a caveman but he’s different than the rest and I can’t seem to forget about him. Not that he will give me the chance to forget about him! But why would someone like Jax, who has more than enough experience be interested in a little virgin like me? I thought for sure he was a heartless player when I first met him but I quickly figured out that wasn’t the case at all.

As soon as I spot the sexy little red head walk in, I’ve already laid her down and claimed her. Now it’s just getting her to realize that, along with all the fuckers who seem to be eyeballing her. I soon find out that Kendal is addictive and I need to have my fill of her regularly. How a man before me has never gone that far and claimed Kendal for himself before is beyond me but thank fuck they haven’t because Kendal will be completely mine.

A Rockstar’s Valentine has a very good story.  The characters were fun to read about and I enjoyed their journey together.  Kendal came off as a smart and sassy chick who knows what she wants and Jax was super hot and romantic to boot.  I really loved how alpha bad ass he was, while still being romantic, patient, and kind.

“You make me so hard I cant think straight.  I only think of you and yes, I want to be inside you baby.  I want to be your first.  You gotta understand though Kendal, once I do there’s nobody else yeah, just you and me.”

Sigh!  Super sweet and sexy too!  He is also super Alpha and dominating!  HOT!

I really enjoyed this book and I probably would have given it more smooches if not for one thing; editing.  This book really needs some good editing!  There were a lot of mistakes through out and it kind of drove me crazy.  I feel bad about that because the story and writing were good.  3 smooches.

Interview with a Master by Jason Luke Review

5 Smooches!

kis kis kis kis kis

It’s the interview like no other.
It’s the interview of a lifetime.
It’s THE Interview with a Master.
When Jonah Noble reveals details of his life within the world of BDSM, the tale he tells is intensely erotic, profoundly sensual, and brutally honest.
This is His world. His way.
There is only one question the man will not answer…

I really, really, really, loved this book a lot.  I literally read it in pretty much one sitting, dishes and laundry be damned.  I found it so fascinating, as I am not all that familiar with the BDSM scene.  While Jonah described his BDSM sessions to Leticia in great detail, I was on the edge of my seat, totally hanging on to every word and entranced.  I feel like I felt the same as Leticia, impatiently awaiting the conclusion to a story or wondering what was going to happen next.  Jason Luke wrote Jonah in a sort of magical way.  Jonah was a little conceited, a bit awkward,  something of a know it all, and a lot sexy, but none of these things made you dislike him.  I still found that his character completely captivated me.  Oh, and the sex!  The sex was so damn hot!  Ridiculously hot!  It was even hotter that Jonah was telling innocent and sweet Leticia his crazy sex stories.  I was squirming in my seat right along with her.  So freakin hot!

The writing was fabulous.  The story was phenomenal.  However, the ending of this story pissed me off so bad.  If you are looking for an HEA, look elsewhere.  I so wanted a HEA for Jonah.  In fact, I literally waited 24 hours after finishing this book to write the review.  I did not want my anger at the ending to effect my rating of this excellent book.  The ending literally destroyed me.  I think I am going to go troll Facebook now for an Interview with a Master support group.  5 smooches, Jason Luke!

Blurb: Dimitri Sokolov is a man scarred, physically and emotionally. From the rough streets of Moscow to the highest ranks in the Solntsevskaya Bratva, he has seen it all.

An attack four years ago left him hideously disfigured and in seclusion, hiding from reactions to his horrible appearance and in safety from those who failed to kill him the first time.

Comfortable in his penthouse, managing his billion dollar businesses, he’s resigned himself to be alone, simply called The Beast among those who’ve dealt with him in the past.

Columbia Grey is a pseudo-activist trying to save her neighborhood from a developer intent on leveling it to build apartment towers. She goes along with a plan to confront the CEO of the company on his own turf, to force him to listen to her demands…all in a pathetic attempt to impress a man she barely likes.

Little does she know, she’s taken herself into the mouth of the beast, a man familiar with death and destruction, sex and seduction, a man used to getting exactly what he wants and a man with nothing left to lose.

She’s a beauty, but will that be enough to tame the beast and save her life?

From Lies to Promises by Faith S Lynn Review

3 Smooches

kis kis kis

With a past buried and left behind, Katrina changes her last name on a search for a normal life. But what is normal, really?
Three years, two amazing friends, and a new future, she thinks she has finally secured it. That was until Ryder. With him she was able to forget her fears completely, to feel more normal than she ever has.
But when her past comes crashing into her present, will he think her past is all lies, and abandon her like everyone else that she thought loved her did. Or will his promises bring her above the dark that surrounds her life.

I really wanted to love From Lies to Promises and based on its description I was really intrigued. It started out good but for some reason I never really connected with the story or the characters. I felt like it had great potential but was missing something. The heroine Kat has had a traumatic childhood and has some pretty big trust issues. Exactly what happened to her stays a mystery throughout most of the book and I feel like maybe if I knew more about her through flashbacks or something I would have been rooting for her a bit more. Ryder is a good Hero, falling fast for Kat he is super sweet and helps her overcome some of her issues. However there was one thing that he did that really pissed me off and I wouldn’t be as forgiving as Kat was! There were some other aspects to the story that could have used further exploration but just seem to fall by the wayside. At around 150 pages this was a pretty short read and I think some more detail would have really made a big difference.

REDEMPTION (Forgiven Series
Book #2)

I am not what I have done. I am what I have
overcome. And once I have faced my problems, only then will I find redemption.
Josh Walker and Lauren Pierce are opposites in
every way. While Lauren is a committed student and girlfriend, Josh is a player
with a very twisted moral compass…
Or is he?Growing up with an addict for a father, Josh
experienced disappointment from an early age. He puts on a front, shielding
himself from everyone. Until he meets Lauren.
Lauren has it all. An accomplished softball
player she maintains good grades, has great friends, and is in love with her
dedicated boyfriend. Her life is pretty much perfect…until it’s not.

When two bruised souls collide can they help
each other overcome their problems? Or are some souls just destined to be lost?

This time it was
Angie’s turn to laugh. She turned to me her eyes alight with mischief.
“So, Josh, how was your night?”
Damn. I knew at
some point she was going to bring it up. Not knowing how much Lauren had told
her, I figured deflection was the way to go. I smiled, hoping that it didn’t
look fake. “It was an awesome party. Did you have fun?” I asked.
Angie knew me way too well. “I had a fantastic time, but stop trying to
change the subject. I saw you dancing with Lauren,” she said with a smirk.
She was never
going to give up. I needed to play this off. Angie didn’t need any more
encouragement in her quest to find me someone. “Yeah, she’s pretty
cool,” I offered, shrugging my shoulders. “She hit the bar with us
after the party.”
I saw Caleb
watching me out of the corner of my eye. He knew something was up—he always
could see right through me. He knew there was more to the story and he was just
waiting for a better time to ask.
Angie, on the
other hand, looked disappointed. Huh? After all of the threats from Emily, she
looked like she was hoping for more. Then again, I doubt Angie had been rooting
for me to have a one-night stand with Lauren.
she whined. “We have to find you someone.”
I sighed.
“I’m happy with my life.”
She turned her
nose up at me. Guess that was the wrong thing to say. “Oh, so you’re happy
sleeping with a new girl every weekend?” she argued.
“You make
it sound like a bad thing?”
I watched the
anger flash in her eyes. Oops, definitely the wrong thing to say. She stood up
and stepped towards me, forcing me to look up at her. “You’re an ass. With
an attitude like that, you deserve to be alone,” she snarled before
storming off to their room and slamming the door.
I yelled. Getting up, I walked down and knocked on the door. Even though we
disagreed, I still cared about her and didn’t want her to think I was a
complete jerk. “Angie, I’m sorry. Please come back out.”
The lack of
response spoke volumes. Turning back to the living room, I went and sat back
down on the couch. I looked up to see Caleb glaring at me.
“Did you
need to be such an asshole?”
“Dude, I
wasn’t trying to be a dick. I just don’t get why she’s so determined to set me
Caleb shook his
head at me. “Is it really so bad? Angie just wants to see you happy.”
“I don’t
need a girl in my life to make me happy. Why is that so hard for you two to
understand?” I asked, exasperated.
Caleb leaned
forward to rest his forearms on his thighs and clasped his hands together. He
took a deep breath before beginning. “Josh, I’ve known you for three years
and I know for a fact you’re not happy, and lately it’s been getting
He stopped to
look down and when he looked back up again I could see the annoyance in his
eyes. “Since you haven’t seen your dad lately, that’s not the reason. And
it’s total bullshit that you’re happy screwing a different girl every
That sweeping
assumption was like gas to a flame. Who was Caleb to determine what made me
“What gives
you the right to tell me what I want? I’m not you, Caleb. If there was someone
I really wanted, I’d go after them, not run away. There just isn’t one that
fits that category.” I turned to head back to my bedroom when Caleb’s
voice stopped me.
“I know
something happened between you and Lauren last night.”
A thousand
different explanations raced through my mind but before I could say anything he
put his hand up to stop me. “Don’t even try to deny it. It’s written all
over your face. I’m not sure exactly what happened, nor do I want to know, but
if you’re gonna keep sleeping with anything that breathes, please stay away
from Angie’s friends.” Avoiding my gaze he looked down to the floor,
rubbing the back of his neck in a way that made me think I wouldn’t like what
he was going to say. “I wouldn’t want to have to choose between you and
her,” he said sadly.

5 smooches

I am not what I have done. I am what I have overcome. And once I have faced my problems, only then will I find redemption.

Josh Walker and Lauren Pierce are opposites in every way. While Lauren is a committed student and girlfriend, Josh is a player with a very twisted moral compass…

Or is he?

Growing up with an addict for a father, Josh experienced disappointment from an early age. He puts on a front, shielding himself from everyone. Until he meets Lauren.

Lauren has it all. An accomplished softball player she maintains good grades, has great friends, and is in love with her dedicated boyfriend. Her life is pretty much perfect…until it’s not.

When two bruised souls collide can they help each other overcome their problems? Or are some souls just destined to be lost?

Redemption is the second book in the Forgiven series by Rebecca Brooke. Although part of a series this book can be read as a standalone. Redemption is a story about how if something  is really important you can change the pattern of your life. In Redemption, both Josh and Lauren have to overcome the troubles they had at home and in other relationships that can make it hard for them to trust in a relationship.

If you read Rebecca’s first book, Forgiven, you will remember that Josh is Caleb’s best friend and roommate. Caleb and Angie from Forgiven are now together and living with Josh in the apartment. At a surprise party for Angie’s birthday, Josh spots Lauren, a friend of Angie’s, and is immediately attracted to her. When Lauren meets Josh it is clear that this strong attraction is mutual!

Lauren is a star pitcher on the college’s softball team. Her good looks and talent make her more than a catch. After a bad breakup because her boyfriend was cheating on her, she knows getting involved with the campus player is a bad idea and has every intention of staying away.

Josh is a stud and he knows it. A football star and campus player Josh is never hurting when it comes to getting girls in his bed! Josh is known for only being with a girl one time and has no intention on changing that pattern! When Josh sees Lauren he knows he wants her, he thinks its for a night and can’t even fathom it would be for more.

After a night of fun and drinking with friends the two end up at Josh’s apartment and have some incredibly steamy sex! The next morning when Josh wakes up and Lauren is gone he feels something he is not used to, disappointment. After trying to stay apart they realize they are meant to be together.

Things are not all hearts and flowers with Josh and Lauren. Both have issues developed from their childhood and when Lauren’s moment of weakness tests Josh’s resolve, the future of their relationship is in danger. Can these two get past the troubles they grew up with and focus on the love that they can have?

Rebecca Brooke has written a love story set in the college age but the emotional depth of these two characters feel older than the normal silliness of that age. These two are so well written that you can feel what they feel. Josh’s change from campus player to the world’s sweetest boyfriend doesn’t feel fake or trite but more like a true love has developed and changed this man. Watching him grow and develop as the story unfolds is truly beautiful.

While reading the story I felt like Lauren started off a very strong woman but letting her guard down while in love made her softer and a bit weaker. This is not a bad thing and is completely necessary for the story development.

Redemption had everything I look for in a great NA read. It was fun, endearing, heartwarming, funny, sexy as hell and I really loved watching these two fall in love and test the strength of it. I went though the gambit of emotions reading this book but was so happy to where the story lead. I definitely think anyone who enjoys NA should read this book and watch how true love happens.

But when Parker McKenzie comes back into her life she’s reminded of all that went wrong, and all that she lost.

Will Katie ever begin to heal? Or will her secrets and loss be too much for her to overcome?

Perhaps, this is her kismet.

unnamed (54)

Hearing murmurs coming from a corner of the room, I begin to stir. My eyelids are heavy, more than likely from all the drugs. All I ever do is sleep so I couldn’t possibly be tired. In fact, I should be rested, but I’m not, for my sleep is never really restful. One horrifically painful memory, playing over and over again while I sleep, isn’t exactly my idea of a good night’s rest.

The more awake I become, the more my curiosity grows, and the faster my heart begins to beat. The anxiety is slowly creeping in again. I do my best to control it, but instead I find myself taking quick shallow breaths. The feeling is all too familiar. I know myself well enough to know that I need to calm down. I’d done it before. In fact, at one point of my life, I’d been a professional at controlling my anxiety, and I know all the strategies to get myself under control. But those strategies I learned so long ago don’t do much for me anymore. In fact, they’re useless…powerless. Just a weak David pitched against an all-too-strong Goliath. The gaping whole in my chest is just too much to overcome.

They were the only things in my life that made sense, and their love for me was the only thing that kept me going. Without it, I wouldn’t know how to go on living. Like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, Michael had put me back together and Zoe had made me whole again, igniting something deep within me that I thought had been lost forever. I feel a tear prick my eyes. If I had known that morning would be the last time I’d hug her, I would have never let go.

Eventually, despite the urge to know what’s going on around me, I stop trying to open my eyes. Lying awake, with my eyes still closed, will have to suffice. I’ve completely lost track of time. No one can talk to me about what happened because straight away I start losing it, and they have to drug me again. The two people who loved me unconditionally, are gone. It’s bad enough that I have to relive it every day and night in my dreams, I don’t need someone talking to me about it in my consciousness.

It’s unbearable to hear about them, and the way they were taken from me. The words cut through my heart, slicing through all my hopes and dreams, and leaving cut up pieces behind. I can’t deal. I won’t deal. So instead, I scream to get them to stop.

Truth is, I already know what happened, all too well in fact. It’s something that I will never forget, no matter how badly I want to. I just don’t want them, or anyone for that matter, talking to me. I don’t want to think about it. To know that I finally got what was coming to me was punishment enough.
