He’s not the only one who loves a thrill. Together we’re a little too wild…

Crew Madigan is a snowboarding legend. He’s gorgeous, rich, famous and every woman’s dream. Well, except mine. I’ll take a nerdy guy with a clumsy streak who wouldn’t know what to do with a pair of skis to save his life. Superstar athletes? No, thanks. World champions? Hard pass. Crew? Definitely not.

It’s been over a decade since Crew set foot on Madigan Mountain. Instead of sitting with his family during his brother’s wedding, he takes the chair beside mine. ESPN really doesn’t do that chiseled jaw justice. The cameras miss the flecks of gold in his eyes. When he invites me to his hotel room after the wedding, I break all of my own rules for just one night.

But here’s the problem with just one night. Crew is impossible to forget. And he’s not the only one who loves a thrill. The crash, the broken bones, are inevitable. Because together, we’re a little too wild.

EXCERPT:

Holy hell, was he something. It kept throwing me off-balance. Crew had always been gorgeous, but now that I knew what he tasted like, exactly how he could use that incredible body, I couldn’t tear my eyes away.

He was here until Sunday. What if this was a no-strings, casual, sex-only—

No. Noooo. Nope. I had rules. I had rules for a reason, and I’d already broken them on Saturday.

No athletes. No skiers. No snowboarders. Certainly not River’s BFF.

Crew shoved his sunglasses into his hair, then turned and locked those brown eyes with mine. They had just as many gold flecks as they’d had at the wedding. Mixed with the smooth chocolate color were striations the color of caramel and whiskey.

That brilliant gaze dropped to my lips.

Mine dropped to his.

I wasn’t sure who surged first. But before I could blink, our mouths were fused and Crew’s tongue slid against my own.

God, yes. Who cared about rules when a man could kiss like this? He licked at my lower lip, then fluttered his tongue. He’d done the same on Saturday night between my legs and fuck . . . My entire body went up in flames, needing to strip him out of those clothes.

Sitting in the snow, on a mountaintop, I was on fire.

His hands came to my face, his gloves cold and soft against my skin. Except I didn’t want soft. I wanted hard and fast and anything to satisfy this ache.

“Crew,” I moaned, fisting his coat, holding him close.

He tore his lips away, our breaths mingling as we panted.

“You need to leave me alone,” I whispered.

“Why?”

“River,” I lied. He was the easiest excuse. Really, I didn’t trust myself around Crew.

“River doesn’t need to know everything, Raven.” He let me go, shoving to his feet and holding out a hand to help me up.

My ass was frozen from sitting that long. I wanted Crew to help me warm it up.

“I’m leaving Sunday,” he said. “How about we make a deal?”

“I’m listening.”

“If you beat me down the hill, I’ll leave you alone. But if I beat you down the hill, you come to my room tonight.”

I huffed. “That hardly seems fair. You snowboard for a living.”

“Yeah, you’re probably right. You don’t stand a chance against me.”

Why did I have a feeling he wasn’t talking about snowboarding? I rolled my eyes, but as he stood there smirking, I reached up and knocked the sunglasses off his hair. Then I shoved forward and took off down the mountain.

“Cheater!” he called.

I laughed as I flew down the slope, giving it everything I had to beat him to the base. I’d just rounded the last turn that would take me to the bottom of the chairlift when a flash of red came from the corner of my eye.

Crew streaked past me, like I’d hardly been moving, coming to a sliding halt next to an empty ski rack. Damn.

I stopped beside him, panting and unable to contain my smile.

“Nice try, baby.” He smirked.

I bent and unstrapped my boots from my board. When I was free, I took a step closer, speaking so only he could hear. “You’re so sure, aren’t you?”

“So sure of what?”

“That I didn’t just let you win.”

REVIEW:

Off-the-charts chemistry, a thrilling rush of adrenaline and an engaging plot herald Devney Perry’s offering the small mountain town, three-author collaboration Madigan Mountain Series. A Little Too Wild is Crew and Raven’s story, and this is an exciting, emotional brother’s best friend sports romance. Crew is a professional snowboarder with his sights set on the X Games and the Olympics. Raven is a snowboarder, too, and she’s running the ski school at his brother’s resort, Penny Ridge. It’s been a long time since Crew was last home, and when he runs into his best friend’s sister, Raven, the heat blazing between them is enough to melt the snow surrounding them. Their no-strings-attached, one night stand quickly turns into a secret fling, and it isn’t long before real feelings are involved.

A Little Too Wild was set against a picturesque backdrop that Perry described vividly. Crew and Raven are both laidback, hardworking thrill-seekers making them an ideal match. Brilliant banter and tons of chemistry made for a page-turning love story as exhilarating as the first run down a mountain packed with fresh snow. Five smooches from me for A Little Too Wild by Devney Perry!

REVIEW:

I’ve lost count of how many times Lauren Blakely’s writing has made me smile, made me swoon or just plain made me happy. She’s entertained and amused me, she’s made my heart race, and she’s made me blush. It all boils down to the simple fact that she writes the kind of romantic fiction that I want to read. Time and time again, I reach for her books, and not only do I keep me coming back for more, but each book is a reminder of why I love this genre so much. Her books are sexy, light-hearted and fun, they’re the kind of stories that leave the reader feeling good and happy, not just at the end—but the whole way through. Whether it’s one of her romantic comedies or one of her contemporaries, these stories are precisely the types of romance novels that I prefer to read.

Two A Day was forbidden MF sports romance between a star NFL quarterback and an attorney for an NFL team. Their meet cute was a script flip on the tried-and-true damsel in distress situation, with the hero in hot water and the heroine saving the day—I loved it. The attraction between them crackled and sparked from their very first moments on the beach. After an unforgettable night together, they’re both excited about the possibilities and anticipating seeing each other again. So it’s truly unfortunate that Drew is traded to her team the next day making any further nights together as taboo as the dreaded field goal miss at 4th and goal. Drew was friendly, charismatic and such a good guy. He was the epitome of the ruggedly handsome professional QB, and he had a deliciously demanding side that only made appearances behind closed doors. Brooke is an attorney for the team, and she’s smart, she’s sassy and she’s sexy. Their banter is on point, and Drew’s naughty bedroom chatter is the stuff that Brooke’s fantasies are made of. Blakely kept this a feel-good romance by posing just enough challenge to this couple’s budding romance to keep readers fully engaged without using any unnecessary drama or being overly angsty, and I absolutely love that about her work.

I listened to the audiobook of Two A Day, and Jason Clark and Rose Dioro’s performances were absolutely fantastic, breathing life into these characters with the perfect pairing of their own natural chemistry. If this heartwarming, white-hot and humorous story is the kickoff to The Girlfriend Playbook series, I can’t wait to see what else is coming. I loved absolutely everything about this breezy, happy, fun romance. A touch forbidden and smolderingly sexy, Two A Day  was a heart-soaring, blush-inducing romcom that kept a smile stretched across my face. This was a completely bingeable, listened-to-it-in-a-day romance—I burned through two pairs of AirPods and was already anticipating the next book in the series by the time I finished it. Two A Day by Lauren Blakely gets five smooches from me!

EXCERPT:

Before I can stop myself, I close the distance between us once more and pull her into a hug. Without hesitation, without waiting to see her reaction, I wrap my arms around her shoulders and hold her tight, letting my body relax into the embrace. And because I somehow lucked out, she sinks into the hug as well, and her head rests against my chest as her arms squeeze me tight. Warmth spreads through my veins, like the sun is being injected directly into them. I can’t remember the last time I had human touch, and yet here I am two days in a row, privileged to feel Fallon tight in my embrace. And the way her head rests against my chest, like . . . like she belongs to me. It makes me feel powerful, like I actually matter. Like there could be something so incredible between us.

We stand still, holding each other as time passes by. It feels like minutes as the sun continues to rise into the sky and a pair of squirrels fight in the trees above us. In reality, I know it’s only been seconds, but those seconds are precious. And I soak each one in. I don’t ever want to let go. But unfortunately, she releases me. She takes a step back, pulling far enough away to look me in the eyes.

“Okay, so . . . I guess we have work to do.”

Work that I wish was just between us. Like last night, alone with her, talking. “We do. Lots of work.”

She points her thumb toward the cabins. “So, see you back at the cabin.”

I rest my hands on my hips, nervous, unsure of how to act in this moment. I wish she wasn’t dating someone. I wish there was an opportunity for me to make a move on a girl I should have made a move on a while ago. I wish I hadn’t been too engrossed with my own worries to recognize what was right in front of me. A beautiful woman, with an even more beautiful heart that, as of this moment, has completely and irrevocably captivated me. “See you at the cabin.”

REVIEW:

I love romantic comedies, whether they be in the palm of my hand as a book or on a screen as a movie. Runaway Bride starring Julia Roberts is the quintessential romantic comedy classic and a favorite of mine. Meghan Quinn takes a fresh look at that storyline in Runaway Groomsman and spins it on its head. Billed as a romcom about new beginnings and finding love where you least expect it, and that was a very accurate description. The hero, Sawyer, in the midst of a romantic/professional crisis, finds himself in the quaint town of Canoodle. He’s looking to escape the press and the scrutiny in LA in favor of a place where he can work on his next screenplay while the drama swirling in his life blows over. Fallon is renovating and running her grandfather’s little resort, the place she called home growing up and a fixture in Canoodle for as long as she can remember. She’s also taking care of him as he battles Alzheimer’s. It’s definitely not love at first sight for Fallon and Sawyer, but over time, as their relationship slowly grows into something more meaningful than either of them was looking for or expecting it to become.

A slow-burn, enemies to friends to lovers romance, Runaway Groomsman was laugh-out-loud funny and full of the yearning of a relationship build-up. Packed with emotion, a little bit of drama, and a whole lot of pining, Fallon and Sawyer’s love story may have taken a while to get where it was going, but it was worth every step of the journey. I loved everything about the charming town of Canoodle and all its quirky, endearing residents. Heart-warming, simmering with sexual tension and bursting with humor, Runaway Groomsman was fun, flirty and full of feels. Runaway Groomsman by Meghan Quinn gets 4.5 smooches from me!

REVIEW:

I’m a long time Lacey Black reader, and her small town romances are top notch and some of my favorite things to read. She’s launched a new world in her Pine Village series, and I’m here for it! This series kicks off with Gabe and Blair’s story, and I strongly recommend that readers start with the (free!) prequel novella, Pretty Remarkable, to get this couple’s backstory, and specifically Blair’s history.

Blair left Pine Village 15 years ago a broken-hearted, angry young woman whose dream had just imploded. She returned for the first time six months earlier and connected—on every level—with Gabe. Following her father’s heart attack, she finds herself back in Pine Village, filling in for her dad at his practice and working alongside Gabe. All the chemistry and connection from that night is still there, blazing between them, but there’s an expiration date to Blair’s time in Pine Village as she has made it clear she does not plan on sticking around. Gabe hasn’t been able to get her out of his mind following their night together, though. He’s bound and determined to show her how good they can be together.

Pretty Incredible was a fabulous start to what will be another fantastic small-town romance series. Blair and Gabe’s love story was the centerpiece storyline. It was steamy, romantic and emotional, and I loved how they took it slow, building the relationship from friends to more. But this book was more than just Blair and Gabe’s romance, and Black enriched their story with the secondary plot arc of Blair and her father’s drama. The wonderful side characters were everything you expect from one of those everyone-knows-everyone-else small-town. They were gossipy yet supportive, and they elevated the story from a great one to something special.

Pretty Incredible is the start to another one of Lacey Black’s phenomenal small town series. Rooted in friends and family, full of feels and fire, Black has laid the groundwork for a fantastic series featuring endearing characters wrapped up in interesting plots and steamy romances. I loved everything about Blair and Gabe’s sweet and sexy love story, and I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book in this series! Five smooches from me for Pretty Incredible by Lacey Black!

“…a heart-warming and heat-filled love story, full angsty emotion, crackling sexual chemistry, an engrossing storyline and interesting side characters.” ~Danielle, Red Cheeks Reads

EXCERPT:

“This is my first trip to the White Oak,” he said, bending and stretching and looking far, far too attractive for my own good. “I had the special.”

“Their sandwiches are always great.” Tonight’s was a french dip.

“Maybe I could buy you one sometime.” He stacked the cups for Wren, his gaze flicking to mine.

Two years ago, I would have let him buy me dinner. Without question. I would have gotten lost in the colors of those hazel eyes and made some decisions that would have most likely ended with me in tears, drowning my sorrows in ice cream and pizza.

But the Larke from two years ago wasn’t the woman sitting at the White Oak tonight.

Sure, I missed sex. My vibrator wasn’t the same as toe-curling, can’t-get-enough-of-each-other, addictive sex. But my priority was Wren. So I gave him a kind smile, because he’d been kind to my daughter.

“Have a good night, Ronan.”

He blinked, his forehead furrowing, as he studied me.

I concentrated on Wren. The cups went back into my purse. I held my breath, hoping that he would take the rejection gracefully. The last thing I needed tonight was a scene.

Ronan hovered beside the table for a moment while I braced for the worst. An angry comment. A criticism. In my experience, most hot guys were assholes, especially when their ego was bruised.

But instead of doing what I expected, he surprised me. Not many people surprised me these days.

Ronan smiled. A blinding smile of straight, white teeth and soft lips. If he had been handsome before, his smile made him irresistible now. Almost.

I’d perfected resisting men in the past two years.

“Good to see you again, Larke. Enjoy your dinner.” He dipped his chin, like a bow, then winked at my daughter. “Nice to meet you, Wren.”

Then Ronan strode through the restaurant, lifting a hand to wave at Marcy.

She waved back, her cheeks flushing.

Never, in all my years of coming to the White Oak, had I seen Marcy blush.

I tracked his every step to the front door.

He paused, looking back at my table, flashing me that smile again. It was brimming with confidence. With challenge.

I’d told him no. Twice.

Ronan seemed like a man who didn’t often hear no from women. Given the glint in his eye, I had the sneaking suspicion I’d get another chance to say it again.

I wasn’t into guys who couldn’t take a hint.

So why did the idea of telling Ronan no seem like a lot of fun?
